I dual-coiled a DID today. It's not bad, but I'm hitting my amp limit too quickly... the DID isn't really designed for this (I have no way to fill it now), I just wanted to experiment.

One thing I confirmed is that the negative post is unnecessary to achieve a working coil. So if you are out in the middle of nowhere with an original DID, and your coil dies, and you have no allen key (but you have some kanthal :)) - then just shove an end of the kanthal down into the wick hole with the wick and coil from there. The whole body of the DID is the negative.

If a bigger DID comes out, I'd like it to have dual-coil capability :)

500 mesh 4 cm high 10 cm wide, took a bit to roll it but damn i like. First tank i ran some 30/70 PG/VG trough it, second tank now bobas almost empty and its wicking perfect. 5/6 wraps 30 awg - 2ohm at 4.8V...heaven. Ordered some 28 awg yesterday, try get the ohms bit down with same amount of coils.

Yesterday, I shook up my trusty routine. ::: pat self on back:::
Instead of reTorching and reSeasoning my wick I ran a paper towel over the wick and coil both. I unDID the coil, slid it clean in the paper towel, which also helped reStraighten the wire. Next, I just reWrapped the coil onto the newly cleaned with paper towel wick and she read a steady 2.4 even though I had removed a coil. The Mini DID is heating up vapor in 0-1 hundred's of a second and is crazy vapor and flavor. OHH, I did have to tilt it upside down and sideways a few times to reWet the wick, but after it was juiced up again, I didn't/don't have to tilt anymore. I could have spared myself that if I would of taken the time to drip some on there from the bottle instead of being in too big of a hurry to get out the door into the car.
Long story short... hmmm, I forget. lol

I believe its been mentioned but here's a pic of what i got. This is a very inexpensive torch option for oxidizing the wicks for your DiD if you are looking for one. The torch itself is only $12 at a Home Depot, you might even find it cheaper. $20 for the whole kit (and probably never have to worry about buying more propane). On top of being a "cheap" option, I found it works really well and it is very table friendly, you aren't likely to knock it over and it keeps the flame in a good position to work your wick. I was able to get better control over the flame than with my chefs torch. The little chef's torches work fine I think but they're usually more expensive and have little tiny gas cylinders. Anyways it's working great for me so I wanted to share.

That's what I got. Hold wick on for 5 min. Then quench. Another 3 min and done. Little juice burn. Good to go.
