Thanks you for giving me encouragement to continue. I really don't want to be defeated by this thing. You mentioned the nuts, I guess he changed the post and the nuts to the stainless steal on all the new orders. I received my DID a couple of weeks ago, and that is what I got and both sides of the ss nuts are the same. The other difference in the ss nuts is that the retaining nut for the post is an elongated nut with the width of two, and the filler and ground screws are a lot taller than the original with ridges for finger tightening and a slot for a mini screw driver. (This post of mine has a picture of my set up--- http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...enesis-type-atomizer-did-196.html#post7393999 )

Because of watching the videos that the young guy "kid" made, I ordered an extra set of the nuts, and the extra set that I received were the copper ones. I was going to try to use the extra set instead, but they are wider than the ss ones, which ended being too close to the wick (Papers width away), I thought it would add to shorting problems.

Monoxxide, I have ECF set up to show more posts per page than normal. My page numbers only go up to 203 pages today. What is your post number?

Also, is my extra torching of the wick (5 times total) helping of hurting?

Does the oxidation easily rub off from adjusting the coils and sliding into the hole, enough to cause shorts?

Does everyone's top coil get too tight when tightening the nuts, where you have to adjust it again?

The tightening nuts is a good thing. Yes, when I snug my final nut down I use a needle nose pliers, and the wick bends toward the center post. I then take a dental pick, pin, paper clip, or tooth pick, in other words whatever I have handy, and jam it between wick and center post to give a wee bit of separation. No top short. Make sure your coil is laying on the ground of the DID, till right before it starts its wick climb. Don't go crazy on oxidation. Jack frost until it grays a bit on both sides, roll, juice, burn, and go. Don't worry about early failure, it happens to both the smart, and those less endowed :), it will come to you. Wicking? What grade mesh are you using. I am currently in awe of 500, works very well.

6 week old DID wick / coil. I've done nothing but tighten the negative post once... (well, I've filled and vaped it lots..)
No dry burns, no rinsing, nothing and it tastes as good as day one.
Fiddling is not a necessity, just sayin..

Question to everyone. If items are in stock why does it take so long for them to ship?
After great pain trying to place my order on their website 4 times with no success, Alexia helped me out by sending me a paypal email to get my order in last Tuesday or Wednesday. I still have not received any shipping notice. Is this extra delay normal?

Does anyone know the thread pitch of the + center post on the mini DID? I really don't want to wait a month for extra thumb screws, and it's almost impossible to get them tight without something to take up the gap.

I asked the same question a few weeks ago. It is an M2 thread type.

Here is the post by Jim answering my questions:

I can not search back but I have an answer for someone.
The threads of the positive pole are type M2

feel lucky man, my mini has been wandering all over the globe for more than 2 weeks. add another week to it: the post office has been kind of on vacation for about a week... local festivals...why bother working? if it passes security i'm good (but Israel=the DID might be a bomb!), if not, that's another week to just get a notification letter to be able to explain that the DID is not that kind of weapon... buddy, ur good!

Not really a shipping complaint, more a patience complaint on my part Jim. :D

Wow, that sucks DSmooch. I did wait roughly one month on my mini when I ordered it though, so I feel your pain.

4 weeks ain't too bad, last month I got delivered a mod I waited for solid 6 weeks!

It was sent to Australia instead of Austria first, was kept in the Australian customs first and ended up in the Austrian customs because it came from Australia, but it was sent from EU to EU which normally does not include any customs!

So I had a hard time to collect it from our customs and that after 6 weeks waiting for it!

It was a real pleasure :p

I had a pretty crazy DID moment last night. I'd been using a 2 ohm coil on a fat wick on my Young June V2 for a few days, and it was going great. Last night, I set it down for a few minutes, then when I went to pick it up again, the mod was hot as hell. I instantly unscrewed the bottom cap and slid out the battery, which actually wasn't too hot (it was warm, for sure). Then I touched the DID, and it burned me! I'm looking at my finger right now, and I still have the burn mark! Crazy, right? I let it cool down for ten minutes or so, then I unscrewed the top cap. Everything looked pretty normal under the hood... except my drip tip was melted where it sits in the top cap! Crazy, right? Anyone else experience this kind of thing?

Anyway, I took the opportunity to rebuild my DID (threw away that wick and coil, bad juju and all) and finally install my Kir Fanis tank. Now it's working great (obviously). Why you gotta scare me like that, DID? ;)

Sounds like a malfunction with the mod, it continuously fired for the few minutes it was set down for.

Last week, I set my P+ w/ DID down in the cop holder of my truck and I forgot to lock the bottom button. I left my truck for a few minutes, and when I got back I picked up my mod and the DID was hot like you described. I took the battery out and let it set for several hours. Good thing I had a backup PV with me. After it all cooled down everything was just fine. I had a metal drip tip in it, so no melting going on.

Just reminds us to be careful, and makes me glad I use IMR batteries...

Yes my omega failed and stayed on with a aw. Hot spring saved the did. But it was hot. Made a temp mod out of and ego 18650. Just ordered a ss telescope to get me by until Jim makes the 18650 battery holder. The did is a tank. I had my .... vape a tank on me once. I smelt something burning. It was my .....
