Sounds like a malfunction with the mod, it continuously fired for the few minutes it was set down for.

Last week, I set my P+ w/ DID down in the cop holder of my truck and I forgot to lock the bottom button. I left my truck for a few minutes, and when I got back I picked up my mod and the DID was hot like you described. I took the battery out and let it set for several hours. Good thing I had a backup PV with me. After it all cooled down everything was just fine. I had a metal drip tip in it, so no melting going on.

Just reminds us to be careful, and makes me glad I use IMR batteries...
Yeah, this is the only thing that makes sense. I'm just surprised I didn't notice vapor coming out of the air hole and drip tip. Strange thing, this mod has a cutoff (ten seconds, I think). But I guess this was an illustration of the definition of "malfunction."

Yes my omega failed and stayed on with a aw. Hot spring saved the did. But it was hot. Made a temp mod out of and ego 18650. Just ordered a ss telescope to get me by until Jim makes the 18650 battery holder. The did is a tank. I had my .... vape a tank on me once. I smelt something burning. It was my .....

I fondly remember your crazy eGo 18650/DID mod. Let me know how that Telescope works out for you. I kinda think my Young June is going on a sabbatical...

Gomtuu and others. I strongly suggest you toss that battery as well just to be safe. It's now been stressed and for a few bucks it's not worth taking any chances with it.
It definitely wasn't the DID that caused the problem.

just my 2
Yeah, I've got the battery separated from my other 18650s, in anticipation of just chucking it. Safety first, without a doubt. I've just been trying to see how long I can go without spending any money on vaping, but I guess another 18650 isn't really extravagant or anything...

Why do I feel like your DID and mod are... smarter? ;)

The Telescope has been on my wishlist for a while. The price is right, but something has been holding me back... Oh yeah, I'm waiting for Jim's 18xxx mechanical mod! Cup o' Noodles for lunch for a month, and I'm good to go.

Hey Tony, that Mod (and no matter how it started its life, it's a legitimate mod now...) deserves a PV "Purple Heart" and "Bronze Star" for bravery and dedication under combat conditions...

If you ever "retire" it, it belongs in a shadow box on the wall :thumb:

Thanks. So true. It even carried the did when I broke my center post. I was working on my bike a couple of days ago and it fell off a high shelve. The top part got bent. The did just laughed at it. :) I just cant go flying for 4 days with it. Yes I will keep it in my overnight bag as a backup
Ill put up some pics

Finally got my computer to allow me to reply to this post Jim.
The 14000 setup looks very sweet, but I am still awaiting an 18350-18650 mod from you. A Panasonic 2250mah 18650 only lasts me about half a day at present, so just can't roll with the 14000's.
A fat DID with around 4.5ml for the longer haul with a seamless fit with your 18000 Mod would be super sweet.
I love the brass ends on the 14000 battery tube, very classy, and somehow breaks up the phallic lines a bit LOL.
I have to say though Jim if money was no object I would jump on the new 14000 setup just to have it in my collection, as your design and finish are exquisite, and if ever a manufacturer was more deserving of investing in it's you mate, but I have to be frugal and wait for what I will get most use from: A fat DID on a compact 18350 mod would be my going out setup, with a couple of 18350s stashed in pockets or in the car for backup, then home, and on with the 18650 tube or extension for the rest of the nights vaping.
As an optional extra I'd love to see a DID bottom cap/battery mod cap hybrid setup ,where you can either have the standard DID screw into the mod's 510 connection, or replace the DID's bottom cap with the mod/bottom cap hybrid and screw that in to the battery mod as its top cap. This would make it a true hybrid and super compact, while still convertible back to separate DID and mod.
If that makes any sense
Keep up the great work.

Vapor2112 by the way ((((RUSH ROCKS)))) Best progressive rock band ever!!!
And everyone else.

No need for IQ tests for you guys. You people are off the charts. Telling a dummy like me, that I can do it too. Makes me want to chant, what they chant for the President (for now - at least): YES WE CAN . . . YES WE CAN . . .

I'll try again later this week . . . And succeed.
I'll let you know, when I do succeed.

Thank you VERY MUCH !

I hate to say it, but the 14500 will be too small for me too. I was and still am quite smitten with it, but I'm a size 18 vaper myself. I've been thinking of venturing into the size 25 when I can. It will remain on my oohhh list, but it won't take a priority atm. It sure is a beauty though!! I wish I went out more often, but about the only places I go to is to the feed store or high school sports games.
I've shared the link wherever feasible, and the people are really excited over it's beauty. I can't wait to see the larger versions.

Wow Perf! Very very nice!!!

Congrats to all the new receivers of the DID!!!

A few more reasons why I love and prefer the DID:
1. It never leaves a drop or puddle in the connection. I still take a kleenex to the 510 connection, out of habit, but it always comes up dry!
2. When it's time to refill, the vapor and flavor will thin. I can go until it's bone dry without any pain to my throat whatsoever. A lot of attys try to rip your throat out when it's dry... the 306, the HH357, the Joye 510, the Zenesis Standard... but not my DID!!! My DID will gently tell me it's refill time, in the same way that a battery will let me know it needs a change out.
3. When I fire er up, she sizzles louder & prouder than a good sizzling boge or 306. Music to my ears!

Oh god, just you wait until you've been doing this for a year or so...Between everything I've bought, sold, traded, and gotten from friends as gifts, I've easily had a good $10,000 worth of mods, attys, juice, and miscellaneous vaping junk...it turns into an addiction REALLY quickly, so be careful what you buy and always try and aim to get the best of whatever it is you're looking for! That's why after a year of vaping, I post here on the DID thread most often and I have more DIDs than any other RBA :)
Yea it was cheap. Believe me I'm getting Jim 18650 masterpiece. Shoot I'm into this vaping for hundreds. Maybe a grand. :) it was 50 with 2 day. I cant keep .... vaping.

I can't even count what I've gone through already in a few months. I can't afford to even THINK of what you have gone through. I just want what will work for me.
