New Genesis type atomizer by DID!

I am curious how other Provari users setup their DID. I have had my DID now for about 3 months and have tried various gauges of wire and various number of wraps. I just got some 28 awg that I did a 4 wrap coil and it is a little too low, but working. I am getting 0.9 ohms out of that and I am vaping at 2.9 volts. Too much higher and the Provari will give me a E2 error (too much current). Not really interested in mech mod though. Can't stand bottom buttons. The GG looks nice, but man are they expensive.

And by the way, I should be getting my second DID any day now.

The the moment I am using 32 AWG Kanthal wire for raising my ohms for use on the Provari. I have a 5/6 wrap on the wick in my Gemini, (keeping in mind that the Gemini has a DID Mini top therefore a much smaller diameter wick since I leave a decent amount of space between the wick and the wall of the wick hole.). But that setup gave me 2.0 to 2.2 ohms, I believe it has steadied out at 2.0 ohms now that I have been vaping it for a bit, since about 6PM PST yesterday.

Thanks Monoxxide and overall. Previous to trying the 28awg, I was using 30awg and getting about the same readings as you overall. I think the 28awg may be a little too low for the Provari. I may switch back to the 30awg tonight. I guess I could try 5 wraps, but the more wraps the more problems I have with hot spots. Also, overall I vape mainly fruit vapes myself. I am currently stuck on Copper Creek Cool Aide. Thanks again!

You are very welcome, yes it has been going like wildfire all day today The nice thing about the higher Ohms is that I also get longer battery life our of the 18490's in my Provari Mini

I am going to be experimenting some more this weekend. I have been able to build coils pretty easily and get all of them glowing for the most part other than the occasional top or bottom coil getting a hot spot and giving a harsh hit.

My current setup is 400 mesh wrapped fairly tight with an easy fit into the wick hole. I also have the fill screw in. I am have a 4/3 wrap of 30ga. kanthal with a 1.6 ohm resistance. I don't seem to get as much vapor and it seems to be on the harsher side almost like the wick is too wet. If I take the cap off and hit the power after it has cooled off it starts trickling vapor. If I hit the power again and as the wick warms up then it seems to get the vapor going but it still seems a little harsh. I have never been a big fan of major throat hit.

I currently have Halo Prime15 which is 12mg nic. I know it is just a matter of finding the sweet spot.

Wow Darryll, that is one great looking Gemini/Provari Combo. I am very sorry to hear about your house though. That really sucks. So many good people lost so much in these storms. Hopefully you will be getting it all fixed up though like new and be back into normal very soon my Friend.

I have tried between 3.7 and 4.3. Haven't really tried going over 4.3 other than when I set the coil up and the provari threw an error.

I'm baffled, but it sounds to me like some kind of wicking problem. It doesn't take much to crease the wick somewhere while trying to get it set up. I've had to unkink a coil once or twice myself.
The air around the wick, should be plenty even if there isn't a needle hole in the middle of the wick. But... then again, should and are can be worlds apart sometimes.
I would suggest rolling up another oxidized wick, assuring a needle hole in the center. Leave the needle in while wrapping the wire, too, so as not to kink it anywhere. (remove when finished, of course, duh, but if I don't say it, someone somewhere sometime will shout at me for not reminding them lol. such as myself no doubt).

If it were flooding, you wouldn't get anything, no harshness (which usually represents a short), and no vapor. Lots of flavor though lol.

I'm with Uma on this one. 4.3 should be plenty. Also, try taking the fill hole screw out and see if that makes a difference.

Try fill screw out just to confirm. If it's a bad harsh, with cap off look really closely. Are you sure you don't have a "micro short"? I've experienced hotspots that are actually not visible until I look closely and see a tiny red burn.

I had one of them buggers yesterday, itty bitty little thing. They are a pain in the .... to spot and you wouldn't think that they would make a huge difference, but they do indeed make a nasty taste LOL

Oh they suck. And being that small, you just remove the cap and fire it and don't see it if you look quickly. You almost have to look closer and rotate your mod to spot it. Usually it's small and faint. Not bright. And you'd never think something that small could crap on the taste so bad.
