Here is a shot of the coil I last posted about. Been vaping it around 4.2. I am really digging it and should just keep getting better with more experience. I took the pic with my phone and it didn't turn out the greatest. Will have to whip out the real camera at some point.

Looks good. Once it breaks it. Your shorts will go away. Nice job

Well, I did a dumb thing today trying to clear a hotspot while out on break. Had no tools with me, so I figured I'd fire up the coil to see where the issue was, and then quickly give it a nudge with my fingernail and see if that solved it.

Turns out, fingernails can burn. I put a nice little indentation in my nail and smelled like burning hair until I could wash my hands.

Also, I'd vaped the darn thing dry. Guess I forgot to make sure the tank was full before I stepped out this morning.

Don't feel bad, the other day I was doing a tank swish with water, and a coil dry burn. Got the coils glowing, in fact the whole wick was glowing, had a piece of paper towel to do a wipe down of coils. Problem was the towel was wet with ejuice instead of water, and when i went to wipe coils the thing burst, and I mean burst, into flames. Surprised the s__t out of me and i sort of threw dropped it right onto a kitchen throw rug which started burning. Grabbed a glass of water to dose flame, and the glass slipped from my hand hit the rug and shattered into a million pieces. Of course, I was bare foot at the time and excited the room in a clumsy, ungraceful way, stubbing my toe against the stove. I hobbled from room swearing. To add injury to insult I woke my wife in other room who chimed in, "What in the heck are you doing out there, can you keep it down?" "#$%&%$#$%&" burst from my mumbling lips, followed by "yes dearest." I went into the other room and started laughing at myself. Moral of story, wait until morning to do things, I ain't very sharp late at night. :) :) btw, clean up was painfully messy.

+1 to Overall's Statement, that is one messy looking wick but by golly if it works then that is all that matters right? :D I am so danged OCD I will spend an hour just getting the thing to look perfect in every way. Perfect measured spacing and perfect wick spacing to the wick hole. The whole 9 yards. LOL

Hope everyone is having a great day :D

Hi guys I have a question
I'm thinking to order a stainless steel Positive pole, spacer, nuts, and screw for the DID
so my question, is there any difference in vaping experience if I use all these stainless steel parts
or it is same as brass? or difference in connection?

I hope I can get the answer from someone who is really try them both on the DID

I've tried them both and found no difference in performance at all. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I have used both. The stainless steel is a bit easier to set up. The spacer nut is nice. I love the thumb screw in the fill hole. I kept the original screw in the negative hole. I like that screw to have a low profile. I am still using the brass center post in several of my DIDs as I have not torn them down ever.

I have a question, can we use the fill hole to make the DID a dual coil? I know it would become hard to fill it but I was curious.

I have done this, but I don't recommend it. It's tough to get the ohms on the coils close, you can't refill it, and performance isn't really any better then a good single wick setup. I'd like to see Jim produce a dual wick top...
I think it is difficult to get the airflow right with multiple wicks. Two holes might make the draw too airy.

You can charge the monster batteries on the 6 bay x-star charger. Looks odd but works well. Don't bother with the kick and 26500, go with the 26650 MNKE batteries. They last forever. Then wrap either a 4/3 30awg coil or for high watt vaping wrap a 3/2 30awg (right at 1 ohm). I bought a kick to go with mine and didn't think it performed well at all.
I lucked out and got one of theGreen's blemished BAM's for really, I mean super really, cheap. For now I'm running it with the regular 18650 battery until I pick up a Kick and a charger for the huge 25500 battery.

Oh my god Rick. I just had to change thank you. And I'm laughing because as I read this out loud for my wife to hear, her reply was "that kinda sounds like something you would do"
Amazing things happen don't they?

MY moment. I took the cap off mine, did similar cleaning process. Didn't go so well to cut the story short. I decided in the middle of all this I wanted a vape. Well.....I reached and took a hit......OFF THE ONE WITH NO CAP! Well, my lips weren't the same. And I had to admit how my lips got a burn mark.
