I'm a bit confused about the POLDIAC Jim. Will we be able to use our existing D20 DID's on it? Will it be 20mm wide so the R20 looks seamless on it, or will it have a different sized DID that fits on it?
Sorry for all the questions but I'm holding off buying any other PV to buy the POLDIAC and I want to be sure I understand exactly what it is.
Thanks.

Yay! Got my first passable wick and coil. 29g and 3 wraps, .59 ohms. Not perfect, but all coils glow (top and bottom ones brighter) and the vapor is quite nice. Not sure the mesh size, I got 4 precut rectangles yesterday and they all seem the same, 400 I'm guessing. I have some 635 but I want to get better with this before cutting that up. And I kinda feel that I should use the normal mesh before going to the fancy stuff, paying dues I guess.

My current No. 3 DID setup

0.6 Ohm high wattage...

DID Standard (5 Brass nuts & center post)
Wickhole:3.5mm
#500 mesh, (Quick allover Jack frost, then rolled, torched quenched 2-3 times, then oxidizes with vertical juiceburns 2-3 times)
Starting mesh size: 37 x 105mm.
Solid wick rolled to 3.3-3.4mm(not as tight as I can roll it though, slightly "spongy" rather than solid as a rock)
2/3 wraps 28awg Kanthal, 34mm length of wire,2mm pitch of coil,
0.6 ohms
Vaped from 4.2 down to 3.6 volts or 29.4 - 19.27 Watts on mechanical mod (Paps V2 18650 & 18500)
Adjustable tank breather screw one turn & 1/2 out from fully closed no substantial leaks, just minimal seepage when super hot from chain vaping and laying on side for 5mins plus)

Seriously instant vapor from 4.2-3.8v, great 2 second satisfying hits, then nearly instant from 3.7-3.4v,3-6 second hits.
Very stable short free, Great flavor especial considering such high wattage.

For anyone still struggling with their wraps.
Loose wraps sink ships LOL. So Do minor shorts
As we know you should see no air, when you do your dry fire and get those coils glowing you can more each wrap of coil one at a time to take up any slack (as long as there not really loose)
If you wrap your coil with enough gap between each wrap this gives you more adjustment potential.
Imagine you have a 3/4 wrap and the coil is like this: [[[ ,but you have air gaps or looseness,or minor shorts. Do your dry fire and one wrap at a lime with a tooth pick move the hot coil like [[/ then [// then /// ,I hope you get my drift.

My small but proud DID family :)

I've been reading this thread almost since the beginning; it was the main reason I ordered a DID in the first place. Never regretted it. Got some initial help from RW with my first wick and coil, and since I watched the videos, I can put one together in under 10 minutes. The only change I made is to fold over *three* sides of the mesh so I have a nice neat top and bottom, and no straggling wires to cause shorts.

Now I just need to finish selling off all my old and unused stuff so I can afford a POLDIAC when it comes out in December...

Wow. That is some serious heat.

If I may ask, how long does a battery usually last you with that setup?

My other DID No.2 has an 0.9 Ohm coil and the battery life is ok, can't tell you how long as mt vaping is heavy to light all over the place, this one at 0.6 Ohms only needs really short drags otherwise I get sickly over nicoed.
So What you waste will a higher ohm coil with primer puffs and long drags it all evens out, plus this setup is much closer to a ciggie as far as drag & hit as opposed to my other setup which are more like a pipe, puff puff hit. :)
