That's why I rarely like. I follow so much through tapatalk I just can't possibly
My 3-G is so bad, that I'm lucky to get one solid hour of page turning, and rarely will it let me reply. Thank your lucky stars that you at least get to read enough to keep up and often respond!

oops meant to make that a longer post...

Me and DID went to a pub theater thing where they played Irish and British pub songs live while I was drinking Guinness (lots of it) and we had fun! But now I am drunk.
:lol: :lol: :lol: Your special friendship DID is spoiling you rotten Miriam! :toast:

My first coil wrap came out at @ 2.5 and rose too @3.1. My logic had it falling not rising. Somewhere during a sneak peak at the coil the top connection came loose. Try as I might reconnecting it was hopeless. New wrap with three coils ohmed @ 1.8. It has risen too 2.0. I found with three wraps verses four the hot spots were easier to contend with. Voltage was dropped too 3.8 and all is lovely. The Pro-Vari runs it with no fuss. Given that I'm runnng an 18650 I'd prefer my voltage too remain @ 3.7. Somewhere in that range would provide the longest battery life...but then I'm just an outlaw redneck...with a war machine PV....

Now about that draw...I found it loose and airy too begin. I suspected I'd adjust... Had the Buzz Pro sitting there with a Boge equipped tank. Another BP sits here with a little Joye 510/Ming set-up. Draw thru the Boge/tank combo now seems way too tight...the flavor....Lets just say there will be no further need for Boges. I'd found my way back too the Joyes after chasing the vape Holy Grail. I'll be keeping them and my dripping set-up for a quick no fuss change of pace. I now find the draw from the DID too be absolutely perfect.

I mix my own juice. Now with a new toy I probably hit it a little too often but before vaping I could kill 60 stinkies on a bad day...My juice is @24mg/ml @ 80pg/20VG. I went with 500 mesh and even while vaping like a frieght train wicking is no problemo' with no tilting required. Now those vapor clouds I've been seeing on you tube....I know they're using more than 20%VG...I'm thinking on bumping a batch too 30%...Just too impress the locals... Really now.... decreasing nicotine content too 18mg/ml is gonna be required. I'd read RBAs were more efficient at vaporization and I find this too indeed be very true.

I spent more than a few days in research. There were more than a few reasons why I chose DID. I will be buying more RBAs in the future. They will be DID..Outlaw Redneck approved 110% !!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if anyone else is following the pyrex/fused quartz coiling thread (I'm still waiting for tubing to arrive :() but here's what I'm planning to try: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/351986-pyrex-ss-hybrid-wick-20.html#post7852642
Way over my head, but I'm keeping my eyes on the progressive ideas. Your idea sounds wicked, especially the indent. Please keep updated when all is said and done and perfected, maybe even I will be able to give it a go. (or buy premade from someone really nice like CW). :)

The coil ohms will rise a point or 2 as it breaks in. A large jump is typically a loose top nut. A large drop is a short.

At first glance, I was head over heels when I saw Dan's initial post, but now that I've slept on it, I think it'd need to be majorly tweaked to run perfectly. For starters, I think very small slits or perforations on the part of the pyrex that your coil goes on would do wonders for the flow dynamics, and it would also help to heatup the juice quite a bit faster. It's a fascinating idea and definitely something to continue exploring in the future! Cloud, when you get your tubing, please shoot me a PM as I'd love to pick your brains on how it's performing and possibly buy a small amount from you to do some trials of my own. :)

Okay, so I tried my hand again at a fat wick rather than a really thin big hole wick in my Gemini. I now know that I will be changing the wick in my Mini DID to match this wondrous creature I have given life to. I got a 2.1 ohm coil with 32 AWG and a 4/5 Wrap and Thus far I have taken it up as high as 5.2 volts on the Provari without a single short, bad hit or anything else adverse. It wicks beautifully and it hits like a freight train! It does heat up the top cap a bit more but I can deal with that because the vapor production off of the thicker wick with just an 18 gauge blunt tip needle sized center hole is exactly what the doctor ordered for me :D

Just one more reason I love my DID's Versatility I tell ya, pure customizable vaping pleasure :D

Sincerely;

I'm building those wicks for everything too. I can't seem to make a solid wick that keeps up with my chain vaping so I leave a channel (15 ga blunt tip needle) with as much #500 as I can fit easily to wick hole width. One really cool thing about the center channel is a tip from Uma, for continuous chain vaping you simply squonk (or in my case reverse squonk) and it instantly loads up the wick. [I love that word "squonk"...]

Looks neat. If you had the correct tools. I would drill holes in it. Also cut it so it sits above the tank hole. Give you better airflow. Just dreaming.

Yeah I think the mesh this is made up of is the 400 mesh, but it works really really good like this. Now I just have to get another one built for my Mini DID exactly the same way :D This one came out with an EPIC coil too so hopefully this will last me a long time because once you get that perfect wick and wire combo you never want to let it go LOL
