Jim that is a great lottery!! Very generous of you...I'm planning on winning!!!!!!!!!

The pryex arrived today. It fits perfectly and I'm more than satisfied. Thanks!!!!!!!!

A few days back I saw someone complaining about the cost of shipping. I ordered on Monday and it arrived here on the East Coast today.{Thursday} That's a long way in a short amount of time and again, I'm more than satisfied...

Somewhere during the process of aligning my wick and power button things obviously went wrong...I can live with it...until the next set-up....Obviously the DID was not firmly connected with the Pro-Vari...

I cut my mesh @ 85mm and wound it up pretty tight. I thought with no hole. I cut a piece of .035 welding wire for keeping the hole open in future wicks. I'm thinking I can fit a 100mm wick as I had too loosen the 85 a bit after rolling it on the welding wire...

Finally I employed a drill bit when coiling the kanthal. I somehow managed too get a 4 wrap too ohm @2.5..I'm guessing it's a 4/5...there are 4 wraps...The drill bit is so much easier and my coil looks pretty dang good...She glows top too bottom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well not much on the bottom but some....I got the DID last Friday and have tinkered with it quiet a bit...It's working quiet nicely...Next I want to try some 28 and/or 30...I'm thinking I can squeeze an extra coil in there with a little less ohms. Running the Pro at 4.3V...My train of thought is....bigger wire lasts longer...more coils will heat more evenly and produce even more vapor...running an 18650 at less than 4V should give the best battery life on the Pro-Vari...but then it would not be the first time I was wrong....

With the help from you guys my DID is amazing...Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dee

Denture cleaning tablets work a treat. I use equate version of the polident 3 minute soak. Put 1 tablet in 4 oz water leave for 10 minutes or so and voila shiny clean.
somebody post experiences on the new spring kit! cant decide if want to spend 24 bucks to ship! someone persuade me to try the new setup out.

on a related note,my ss nuts have turned a nice black color. if anyone knows how to clean them, ive tried everything short of sandpaper!

Baking powder/salt and vinigar mixed to a thick substance. Put your post and nuts in there for awhile, rinse and job should be done.
I did get everything nice and clean that way, except the little holes on side of the nuts, maybe didnt leave it long enough in there.

Good to see life will get easyer in a couple of years when i can trow my teeth in a bucket of water.

It's not completed yet, but here's my first protoype of a pyrex encapsulated coil on a Standard DID (let me know if the link doesn't work): http://s1341.photobucket.com/albums/o750/Cloud_Wizard/Pyrex and Coil/?albumview=slideshow

Anyone know what I can use to sell the ends? I was going to melt in some silver NR wire, but it would take about 10 feet per end (I melted a few inches of 32awg 0.999 pure Silver down it it all but disappeared...)

Your coil looks like it turned out pretty well in there, but why do you want to seal the tube off? If sealed, I don't think it would wick at all.
Really interesting stuff!

That's a 2.5mm OD tube. I want to wrap unoxidized #500 around the outside and have the insides sealed. That way you could have all different resistance "tubes" and swap them out really fast and easy. I also think the coil would last a lot longer if it never gets wet.

I think it would also work better to have a 2.51mm hole in the tank base to insert the (-) end with some tension. I lost 0.2-0.4ohms from baseline and could get it back by applying downward pressure on the tube so assuming it was from contact pressure at the bottom.

The coil (other than making the NR-R-NR wire which I hate doing...) was really easy. I twisted it on the shaft of a #1 Jewelers screw driver, pinched it down to compress a bit, and then it just slid right in
