Oh boy! Oh boy! And you don't know hard it was to type this (nic sick) but this thing hits like a freight train and I am just running a 1.5 ohm coil on it. I just love the button action and the over all craftsmanship is superb. The bottom button is a piece of art in of itself. Magnificent!

I'm doing this through Tapatalk for ease of posting these pics.

Nat, looks like you got exactly what I'm getting (all polished with satin clothes) absolutely stunning. Mine has made it to Kentucky with an expected delivery date of Monday. This is going to be a really loooooong weekend...

I'm starting my POLDIAC video tutorial and I wanted to know if anyone has any questions that they'd like answered in my guide?

Hey Rick, you always cover the bases but a couple things I'm interested in seeing:
  1. How to disassemble/assemble the button (including the "tool" Jim mentioned)
  2. How to swap button top/bottom
  3. Tips on maintenance (especially important things to keep current path maxed)

I just wanted to report back to you on making my first coil with 29 awg kanthal. It was extremely difficult to work with since it's so thick. It became much easier after using the drill bit method. I don't know how anyone can make a 8 wrap coil using this without the drill bit method. It was also difficult tightening the positive nut enough. With the 8 wraps it's at 2.4 ohms and it's vaping like a camp.

For me, thicker wire (28 or 30) destroys wicks when I try to wrap an installed wick. I like to roll my wick on a 15ga blunt tip needle (removed the laur-lok end) roll, size/trim and then wrap my coil while the needle is still in it before final installation of the wick (makes it much easier for my "not-so-dexterous-anymore" fingers to produce a perfectly spaced - perfectly tensioned coil).

Just got back from taking my 3 boys to see "The Hobbit". Gandalf fired up his pipe and all I could think was what would it have looked like if he whipped out a Poldiac and started vaping. From all the pictures they look like they could've been made by the Elves...

WOW, Even though Currently I cannot afford Poldiac, I know I am saving my Pennies for one because it is a very beautiful MOD and from the rave reviews sounds like it will make a perfect Throne for my Gemini :D:D

May everyone have a wonderful and happy new year :D
Sincerely;
Nate

Hey Nate are you back on the ship?

Yeah I am running Port and Starboard watch sections for the next six days. I have to stay on board every other day until Thursday. It is really very hard to keep up with the thread with this work schedule, I am always exhausted. No Worries though, it is only until March, then I can take some much needed Leave and hopefully have enough saved up to get my Poldiac and maybe even the Timon for my DID Mini :D

I sincerely Hope everyone is doing extremely Well :D
Nate

Cool, I hope you have a great New Year as well. Something about the solidarity of serving together (when I was in the Service) left me some of my fondest memories of holidays spent in some of the nastiest places - but shared with folks who appreciated the situation we were in.

You are Absolutely Right, I traded Duty days with a younger Shipmate who wanted New Years Eve Off and in Trade he took my Christmas Day Duty. So it was a very even trade since he has no Wife and Children yet and I do.... And I do not go out and Party it up on New Years Eve and he Does. So I get to Ring in the New Year on Watch this year which is pretty cool given the fact that our ship has an Awesome view of the Bay right now where they do the Fireworks displays to ring in the New Year. I totally understand as well because we too always bring in things to make duty on Holidays better. This year for new years eve we are doing a BBQ on the Barge and everyone is Bringing something in for a huge potluck :D I made green bean casserole for the watch section on Christmas Day. They ate like Kings and Queens :D
