Finished making my "airstone" wick. So far I'm not impressed. I do not prefer the taste and there is no way that it wicks as fast as what I usually use which is a ss mesh with silica core wick.
Rick, there is no way on earth this wick will keep up with your "straw" set up. Maybe it'll improve with use. We'll see.

Hmmm, that worries me...
When I get my shipment of the airstones in from petsmart, I'm going to try making a hollow ceramic wick. I think that'll help it flow a little bit better.

Pete I'm interested with your setup re: silica core wick, any chance of sharing info? I also think you must leave fill screw out, sounds good.

For DIDers is safe for sure! lol
You need one O-ring only to not take air from the battery tube!
The size is 11 x 2.5 mm
other sizes close to it will work too!
You can test it to fit tight!
Thanks Jim, so for top only. I also need to repair DID base thread what size dia do I need Please.

All I do is make a thin walled SS mesh wick of about 20mm and unroll it, add a strip of 3mm silica wick, re-roll it and I'm done. The reason I do it this way is that the less ss mesh I use, the faster it heats up due to less of the heat sink effect. Anyhow, here is a pic.

here is a pic of the ceramic wick in my Did. It lasted all of 30 miinutes until I pulled it out and went back to my regular wick.

Those airstones bring me back to the years i had a 55 gallon aquarium i thought that rare firetail eel that enjoyed that large tank was going to outlive me he finally passed at 18 years old and was several feet long but only several inches long when i first purchased as a baby .

Anyways i gone thru many types of airstones in that tank for bottom filters and for aeration etc they do get clogged and wonder about how long these would last with thicker e-liquids and also how they would fare to a dry burn.
I do like my mesh and coils right in area of 1.8 to about 2.1 ohms and never any dry hits and i hit the several 3.5ml DID'S hard as i refill them several times daily easily along with another non 3ml Genesis that i not mention the brand out of respect.

Hint to Jim need em bigger capacity ! lol

If you guys really want to get your DIY cost down you can get 1 gal of VG and 1 gal PG from the Essential Depot for $48.06 with free shipping. Keep an eye on My Freedom Smokes for when they have sales on nic. My last liter of 100mg cost $120 when it was onn sale. My DIY is down to $0.63 for 10ml finished juice and I have enough supplies (except flavor) to last me for about another 2 years.

My Freedom Smokes
Our Unflavored Smoke Juice (Nic. Juice, Nicotine Juice) - My Freedom Smokes

Well being I can't remove my poldiac/Gemini from my hand. I decided to order early.

For 148 bucks us

2 gal pg
500 mil 100% vg nic
4 oz flavor

For me that makes about 2600 mil of 18% and I will still have a gal of pg left.

Figured I'd bump this. Others will be out of juice soon. Lol

Just out of interest Tony, what do you vape?. Mostly vape a diy koolmint here, approx 30 ml a week or 1560 a year.

About the same. Maybe 40 a week. I use light tobacco about 5-10 %. Yes been DIY for over 2 years now. Was always using tw mixer. But this is a much better deal 4 times amount same price. About 5 cents a mil. Let you know how I like it.
I'm actually going to do a test at 15% nic. My setup is putting out a lot more then the standard did. But I think it's the 30 gauge. Love it.

Still waiting for batteries to arrive today, no sign of #500 or 30g so think I will twist some 32, I wanted to compare DID thats on Provari with Poldiac but thread is too damaged to tighten. Yeah I went from 16 to 15 didn't notice any change not realy much at 12 either, thought nic may have weakened a bit so did nic test all was ok. Only time I have noticed change was after I went nic free for a week.

I was using a twisted 32, To give you an idea the 30 is way better, battery lasts all day compared to 3/4 day with twisted with actually same if not better vapor. Using the 30Little harsh on a fully charged battery but settles in nice for the rest. The poldiac makes a huge difference on battery life also. The 30 is also more stable good dry burn after 4 or 5 tanks and it like new. Put this coil and wick in on the 28th still See no change I'm in love. ;)

Thanks for bumping this Tony.
If a person buys 500ml, does it come in one big bottle? I assume we'd need to divvy it up into more bottles right, in order to freeze most while we use one. Correct? How many bottles would a 500ml bottle need of what sizes?
Cart:
1 500ml 100% nic
? spare safety cap bottles (amber or cobalt?).
? spare dropper cap bottles (amber or cobalt?) for mixing the mix into and using like we do storebought.
