Felonyruckus, welcome to the Poldiac family. I am so sorry to hear about your father, I cant even begin to imagine what that must be like. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Couldn't agree more about the people here, such a varied and interesting group all here to support and help each other through this little thing we call life.

Cloud Wizard, Brigit, and B2L...

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It's good to know that I'm not alone, sometimes I need to be reminded. This is an awesome community within a community and I thank you all for being...well, just you.

vaping is my quick little escape from the stress and of course reading this forum. My buddy just picked up Poldiac 0146 and he absolutely loves it. I have 0040 and I was going to by a DiD for it but, I want wait until the DiD22 comes out. I've been practicing building my wicks and wrapping on my Cobra and ATA-Ts.

Thanks again for everything guys...

Where abouts in SoCal are you located? I'm in West LA if you ever need a hand with anything DID, poldiac, or just about anything else vaping related :)

This thread is the best thread ever. I have never seen such a cool little community of people so close but welcoming of new people. This thread has made my day, actually, it's made my last few weeks. I've been reading mostly and making a few little comments but, I've been using this as a vacation. I'm currently home with my parents because my father was diagnosed with lung cancer that is in his lymph nodes. He has gone through 3 cycles of chemo and is going to begin his next 3 rounds tomorrow till friday. Its tough because my father was always my hero, my strong, solid family figure. It breaks my heart and I cry everyday when I help him bathe or feed him...I pick him up and move him on his bed. It's just a tough moment in life right now.

Anyway, I was just saying that this thread makes my day and I look forward to it everyday. I'm so happy to be a part of the Poldiac family and I get asked everyday what it is. I put on it's satin brass duds and put on my Phoenix dripper with my braided steel and brass tip and off I go.

Thanks for the entertainment everyone!

Hey that sucks. But consider yourself lucky. My looser father left when I was 3 and I never saw him again and he lived 50 miles from me. He's dead now so I will never have that experience. Remember the memories and give him lots of hugs. He did good. And fight the C. Don't give up. Love can do amazing things. best of luck.

I know this is the best thread ever, I call it home ;-)

Keep it precious with your dad, and keep laughing together even about stupid little things.
I lost my mom to cancer but we laughed together right up to the end and each and everyone of those laughs we shared I keep in my heart.

Should I go to the hardware store or drug store to get an ultrasonic cleaner? I'm tired of hand cleaning my brass DID nuts, it's about time I found an easier, softer way.

You may want to do some research. I just looked on the web. Range 150 to 500. That tells me some are not so good. Figure out what one will fit the need of ecigs then figure out where to get it. Don't get impulsive. But for you good investment if they actually work.

FelonyRuckus, like you said, this thread has the best group of folks on the net, and like Miriam said, it is my second home. I'm so sorry you and your Dad are going through such an awful ordeal. You both (and you and Dad's circle of loved ones) will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Congrats on you and your friend's Poldiac, you have excellent taste my friend! :)

I saw those, but I also saw one on harbor freight's site for in the ballpark of $40. I'm not looking to spend more than that, as what I need doesn't need to be able to hold anything larger than a standard DID positive post.

It will just take longer its the vinegar thats doing it anyway. Put the solution in a small bottle and shake with you honed motion. :)

On the show the review said poldiac residence was low :). He did say there was a .3 drop in volts. I just wanted to say the drop in volts is a battery issue. Not device. These are not constant voltage batteries. As far as I know no such battery exists also even using a generator. When you put a load volts drop. Nothing to do with wiring. That why your lights dim for a second when your a/c or frig kicks on. Voltage drop is a result of current draw of the atty not the source.
should not be used as a quality point of battery holder. Unless you are exceeding the rating for the device. Example cheep small circuits of an ego

I talked to a friend of mine that runs a jewelry store here. He cleans my gold rope chain and all the wife's rings every few months in his US-Cleaner. So I asked him how it does on brass and he recommended a parsons ammonia/water @ 50/50% mix on brass, he also said not to leave any brass sit in it and clean and dry it off right away or it will turn a blackish color. (yikes)
I think I'll take my first brass cleaning to him before i do it my self, not sure how long to leave it in there

Today I got my Poldiac a fantastic mod, very nice and qualitatively made. With batteries 18350 very little, not expecting this. Thank you Jim for this mod!!!

So vinegar and a Tupperware container is all I really need then?

Thank you Tony, very well put! The lights dimming fridge analogy is perfect, I think I'm gna steal that :p
No offense intended to any of the involved parties, but the reviewer didn't really demonstrate a strong enough fundamental knowledge of basic DC circuitry to get too technical, ie bringing up voltage drop, let alone trying to quantify it or explaining its root causes...
At one point, he said that the voltage drop was either 0.2 or 0.3, but that it didn't matter because he couldn't tell the difference.....so why bring up the numbers in the first place? When it comes to testing the absolute best of the best mechanical mods on the market (in terms of their abilities to sustain the greatest voltage under load), one must look to the hundredths place, and even the thousandths place if you're really going to be picky.

Bah! I'll sacrifice convenience for that 0.3Ω less resistance I'm getting from my brass post any day of the week! :D:toast:

I would try that first with couple drops of soap hot water. Let it sit 30 min. Yes the vibration helps. But I would try this first.
