G'day mate, I always say go with what suits. I have 32 30 28 in round, all were good untill I tried this 0.6 atm I am running 3/2 @ 1ohm 3.5v on Provari + DID using same wick as used with 28g same juce just cleaned wick and change coil. The vape I am getting now is the greatest yet, so I think I shall be using 0.6 flat for a while. Of course the next re-coil will be for the DID on Poldiac. Happy vapes :vapor:

edit: will have to drop some nic too! got a bit of a spin going on and the juice level is dropping fast too!:(

They don't ship to the United States?

I found some 0.7 ribbon Kanthal D Ribbon Flat Wire 0 7x0 1 mm 0 027x0 004 in 21 0 Ohm M 6 40 Ohm Ft | eBay
It is in stock and actually I think this size might be even better. the 0.8 would need at least 4 wraps to stay above 0.8Ω. the 0.6 gives me 0.9Ω with a 3 wrap (which I prefer). the 0.7 might just be a perfect 0.8Ω on a three wrap.
I'm buying it!
Only 7 left of 5 meters and 2 of 10 meters!!!!!!!

Ordered! 5m coming my way. I'm a sucker. Jumping on board the ribbon wire train. Looking forward to trying it out!

Hello all, relativily new to the forum. I have been vaping RBAs for a while and have several nice setups. I am looking to purchase some new style rba's and found a "like new" DID LV in the classifieds and am purchasing for 65.00 with extra bottles. I found this thread and have thumbed through quite a bit and appreciate all the good info and Jim's website.
I have learned all I can from several posters and wanted to say thank you.
Is there anything I need to know or anything you can help me with before I start down this road of DID's? I have been using Zen's ZAP atty's and other generic rba's for now but I thought I would move on to other rebuildables.
Thanks for having me, Chris

I'm not sure what the "LV" stands for but I'll tell you some of the differences between the DID and "others". The Did uses a threaded cap so when you receive it, make sure the air hole lines up with the wick hole. Many others use o-rings to supposedly "adjust" the hit. Why anyone would want to increase the harshness is beyond me! Also, the airhole is 1.2mm and for me, it's perfect. Some, like the brand you mentioned, are way too airy for me. Also, on the D20) the wick hole is a massive 3.5mm. Again, why anyone would prefer a smaller wick hole ....... I just don't understand. Wicks great (with the fill screw out). IMO no genny's wick well at ultra low ohms without an open fill hole but that may just be me.
Good luck and enjoy it!

Thanks Pete for the reply, I cant wait. I was thinking Genesis and typing. My true colors have appeared much sooner than anticipated, I should have introduced myself better...My name is Chris and make a daily concious effort not to be an idiot.:)
Oh you'll fit in here just fine. :p

Just out of curiosity, how are you guys attaching your ribbon wire? I cannot for the life of me get a wrap with consistent tension and no kinks.
I feel your pain! It takes a bit of getting used to. Here's what I do.
First, I lay the ribbon flat beside the inside of the negative screw with the ribbon pointing just inside of the wick hole. Now I tighten it down. I do this first because if you wrap your wick and then try to attach the ribbon to the ground it seems to get stuck down inside the screw hole and develops a kink. Next I put a drill bit into the wick hole ( I can't remember the correct size, sorry) and wrap my coil counter clockwise. Then I wrap the ribbon clockwise around the positive post. This part is important. When you tighten the positive nut it will pull the drill bit towards the post. Try to keep the drill bit straight in the wick hole as you tighten the nut. Now you should have the coil suspended over the wick hole. Take your wick and roll it tighter until it just slides into the coil and down the hole. You want it just tight enough so that it doesn't slide down without you moving it. now you can do this without the drill bit as well but I can't seem to tighten the positive nut without everything pulling to the side! If you wrap the coil counter clockwise around the positive post, everything loosens up as you tighten the nut which is not good! I hope this helps a bit!

It can be a bit of a pain at first go because its a bit springy, what I have found to make it easy is firstly get a 3mm and 3.5mm drillbit. I formed coil tightly first on 3mm with longish tails, then put it on 3.5 shaft inserted it into 3.5 wick hole for a steady firm base connect ground keeping coil realy tight all the way to top slightly twist and connect positive remove drillbit and dry fire a few times, coil will glow a get stiffer roll a wick so that its just a snugg fit, so that it can be removed from coil for cleaning later. Its very important to keep every turn of coil even and tight prior to removing drillbit.

Posted then noticed pete had posted, Good info pete!

So the saying goes pete, but my mind is not that great:confused: I am truely amazed with the performance of this 0.6 @ 1ohm 3.4v 3mm wick :vapor:

Well two half brains make one great mind then! I'm looking forward to receiving the 0.7 I ordered because I hope it takes me down to a good solid 0.8Ω. You know, I don't think there is and end to this quest. I keep thinking about Rick, the way he keeps trying to push the boundaries. I guess I'm just having too much fun.:toast:

Been there pete, tried .8 ohm not for me mate too hard on my lungs with fresh batteries. 1 & 1.2 is ideal for me, will leave anything lower to the younger :)
