Mine didn't have a metal tube but a wooden one.
I think it was the bigest size.
I've cut a tube on the right size, made one cut through in the length and peeled loose some of the leather.
Then cut it on the right size and glue back together.

There must be a tabel to be found with cigarsizes, but I think the metal-tubes will be larger then the size of the cigar...
So with metal you need the exact size while it is more difficult to alter.
Maybe they sell some cheap, so you can experiment?

But you don't really need a tube!
The first one I made is just a leather tube and works as good, maybe even better :)

Brigit, what size cigar tubes are you using? I see they come in sizes that accept 52, 54 and 56 ring gauge cigars. I'm assuming that you are cutting the cigar tube and using the metal tube with leather wrap as a replacement for the pants of the Poldiac? If someone has digital calipers, could you measure the outer diameter of the battery tube?

The smallest leather wrapped metal cigar tube I can find is 0.9" in diameter. That would be a little large. I was just thinking that if there was one made that was the perfect size, you could just cut it exactly the same length as the pants tube and slide it on. Maybe I'll just stop by a cigar store and see what they have.

I was thinking the same thing as well Brigit. Actually, I also saw some thin stick on wood veneer's that might look sweet. Oh why can't I just be happy with the status quo! Always looking for something new that I don't need!!!

LOL, just enjoy the fun!
This morning I made a tube of some very thin balsawood, just for the experiment.
You can get the most beautiful veneer, but for now I try to use what I can find around the house.
VERY DANGEROUS!!!

(like: oh, nice leather on the chair....and then looking underneath the cushion if a 3x3 inch piece would be missed... )

Just to be clear, as I've heard many suggestions. Should the stainless wick touch the bottom of the DID tank? If its carbonized correctly it shouldn't matter, right? The point of the carbon is so that it does not conduct any electricity. So people who suggest not touching the bottom of the tank are just avoiding a possible short?

To avoid possible short yes, but with a hollow wick it also helps to get air in the tank if it is not touching the bottom ;-) so will wick better when not touching the bottom.

G'day, just had a look here ProVari Wraps - Customize the Look and Color of Your ProVari Electronic Cigarette seems to be the kind of wrap your after. They look great on the intended product and I am pretty sure dia" are the same as Poldiac.
Maybe wraps without cutouts could be sourced.
Oops! stuffed the link up should have been hidden in "here" sorry

Thanks, Burnie, but for me the Poldiac doesn't go with plastic. I like natural material to go with metal in the same quality ;)
Besides it is fun there is a very practical reason.
I only have a woodstove and steel can become unbearably cold in the winter when freezing!
Just a wrap doesn't solve that but leather or wood does.

Hahah, yesterday I sold some of my old stuff to order spareparts and the small 350-size tube.
I'm so happy with it, this one is definitive going to stay.
(And with vaping, if its for life I discovered I have a spare-part-tic  )

Didn't think of that Brigit, and a cold day here is 12C, and as for baby Poldiac my favorite for life she will never grow old.

Jwraps does Poldiac wraps:
Poldiac

(no clue why you would want them, but they do them :p )

I'd be interested in a clear one for summer.
Stiff (he makes the pipes such as the Hammer and the Groove) has shown awesome wraps on his Poldiac. He has a wood one to die for. He doesn't sell them yet though. :(
I'm like Brigit, much prefer a nice leather or wood in the winter. I keep my mods in my sweatshirt pocket until warmed enough to use, and some mornings it just takes forever it seems. But once in hand, they don't leave very often lol. In fact, once warmed, the SS is almost a hand warmer!

I need a little help please... all of a sudden my full size DID is showing and open circuit. OP on the Provari. No matter how I coil it. I've taken it apart, cleaned it and it still says OP. Is there something here that I may be missing? I'm coiling it like I always do. There are no breaks in my wire. Coil after coil reads OP. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hmm.. It appears that it shows OP when the bottom nut on the pos post is screwed down too tight.. if I loosen it up it will fire. Still working with it...
