Thanks Pete. You did fans are great!

So by maintenance do you mean the brass posts require polishing and cleaning frequently? I'm currently using a zau but the voltage drop is driving my crazy. Plus the did just looks fantastic and mm sells them for a great price. The machining looks great.

Also, I read somewhere for the top cap you can get o-rings to be able to move it around. Can this be bought on the site? And does the stock setup align nicely with the wick?

Thanks again guys for the tips. Can't wait to purchase one.

Out of the box, the air hole aligns with the wick.

When you get sick of fiddling with that ZAU, you can send it to me. I'll give it a good home. :D

Hehe will have to keep that in mind.

Yea I'm just curious how the two compare to each other. The zau is very easy to setup, but the center post and spring used for the current to run through is something I want to see how the did compares. If any of you veterans have both a zau and did please let me know how they compare.

You really don't have to clean the center post or nuts often. They just start to tarnish a bit after a few weeks so when I break down my DID for cleaning I give them a polish. really nothing to even think about! As far as using an o-ring on the cap, if you happen to be one of the very few people that receives a DID where the air hole doesn't line up with the wick, you could use an o-ring to compensate. Again, this has happened so rarely that it's not even a realistic issue. Compared to the ZAU you are going to be very happy. I actually bought a ZAP but sold it 24 hours later! I suppose that if you like small wick holes and a very airy draw, they're ok. DID's just plain work well!

Or 58 hours to go..

Broken down:
8 hours of sleep
16 hours of finishing the new website
1 hour of drinking coffee and browsing fora and fb
8 hours of sleep
6 hours of doing laundry and packing
19 hours of stressing if I have done everything and packed everything! (and no I wont be able to sleep!)

+1 Pete's post.

I hope you have a ball Miriam! That's so way awesome you get to go.

Sometimes I am asked by pm what grade of SS the DID series is made from. I honestly don't know the answer lol. I assume it's the typical 304 or 316. Does anyone know the answer?

I'm not positive but me thinks Jim is using 316. And where is this Miriam person going to anyhow? I must have missed that someplace.
Regardless, Have a blast Miriam where ever you're going darlin! ;)

Yes I know., but that's a 'side bottom button' ;)
I was thinking about an upgrade allowing us to make a bottom button set up like a temon for example.

Oh god! that's an idea, even though I love the side button but, but, but.......I am unemployed at the moment, just went for a job interview today! have been waiting for a DID22..........bloody hell! i am ready when Jim's ready! i am not that broke, still got my saving. LOL
