Yeah, I started with SMOK also. For about 2 weeks I also were disappointed and frustrated. I still use smok V8 stick battery but tank (baby beast) and coils most of the time are laying in my drawer without any use. I use SMOK battery.... but with Nautilus2 tank and Aspire 0.7ohm coils. If you do not like instantly inhaling huge amount of vapor that makes you coughing buy any MTL tank... you can use it with SMOK mod.

I got the smok mag. It seemed the most heavy/durable out of the 3 she recommended to me.

On a side note it really does not smoke anything like a cigarette and it's highly frustrating for me at the moment
In what way? Perhaps we can help.
There are two parts to a vape. The mod (the bit with the battery) and the atomizer (the round bit on top) the atty is most of what determines how a device vapes. The standard tank (the atomizer) that comes with the mag is the TFV 12 Prince. It’s a DL device. There are also MTL devices which have much tighter draws and smoke more like cigarettes but produce less vapor. Some folks like one more than the other. Me I’m agnostic about it.

Yes you can. You can attach hundred different tanks to SMOK they can be from different brands. Any MTL tank uses higher resistance coils and more restrictive draw there is smaller air hole in tank and smaller diameter piece you put into your mouth)that is similar to smoking cigarettes... but of course most allow you to restrict or open more vapor. MTL vapor is not as hot and allow you to use more nicotine in your e- liquid without harsh feeling in your throat. I like Nautilus 2 but there are other good MTL tanks... but unfortunatelly most local vape shops cater mostly to "Cloud Chasers" and I bought my online.

So the nautilus 2 is an mtl tank I can attach to my smok mag?

Yes.. you can use any atomizer on your mod - the 510 threading is universal for all mods and atomizers.. makes it simple.

If you need something more resembling a cigarette, the recommendation to get a Nautilus 2 and vape your mod at lower wattages (around 8 to 11 watts, generally) is a good one..

8-11 is for 1.6 or 1.8ohm coil. I use Nautilus BVC 0.7ohm coil that has a range from 14 to 23 watt (my sweet spot is 18 watt)

Welcome to ECF Teed. If you don't already have the Nautilus 2 you should take a look a the Zenith or the original Nautilus. Might want to look at the Kanger Toptank as well. I usually recommend the Kanger because it is more versatile and will let you explore more air flow options.

Hello @TeedTeed and Welcome to the forums!!!!! I can agree with Letitia above. You can use a prebuilt drop in coil or tinker around with the rba section of it. When and if you get around to it, you could save more money by making your own coils if you so choose. As for airflow, make sure to get one with being adjustable, you will not regret it. I had my dad get one as he started out at the tightest airflow (he smoked for 60 years) on his but after awhile I noticed he opened it up all the way. I was the same way. We both are MTL vaper as well. I vape mostly MTL but occasionally like to do DTL and the Subtank allows it. There are plenty of options out there. A few words that I have seen somewhere here is to learn your gear and provide the best vape experience one can achieve with the equipment before buying other gear. That will also save you money. ;) Hope this helps!!! Enjoy your journey! Any questions, do not hesitate to ask as there are plenty of nice people here willing to help out anytime we can. Cheers:toast: and Happy Vaping!!!:vapor:

Welcome. In my experience, getting the right devices, the right airflow (draw), the right liquids are essential. Hanging out and asking questions at ecf can help a lot - at least it did for me. It took me months to find out what works for me.

Don't take this the wrong way, but in some cases, mine for example, it was necessary to get the whole vaping thing together before pressuring myself to completely quit analogs. I was happy to steadily reduce my addiction to analogs. You will find that there are many different opinions on all this.

You will (if you really want to quit) find the way that suits you. Good luck, and whatever happens, keep vaping.

When I smoked cigs I used to duck into mouth then inhale into lungs I looked up the mtl thing and i think that's the one that I need, so it sounds like i need to ditch out the atomizer
