hi all my name is alex, im 2 years old and am wanting to quit smoking. ive tried chantix and everything else out there and i cant do it that way, so im goin to use e cigs to do it. my main question is what brand and style to get?? i dont want to smoke something that tastes like crap, and need a decent battery life/ multiple batteries. I have read that using "e-juice" tastes better but seems more expensive. Right now i am using a really crappy ecig that i bought at the local smoke shack, but my wife said to upgrade, so im looking. so im just wondering if anyone can steer me in a good direction as to what a noob should be buying for best results. but you never know i may just end up doing this instead of smoking regular cigs cause i like smoking and my wife hates the smell so i guess its the best of both worlds lol. sorry my typing sucks and i know my brain is all over the place

Hello Alex! I'm new to all this too, so I wont be much help. I started out with the auto cig style (808) about a month ago. I outgrew that in a few days. I moved to the Kgo kit and haven't smoked since. I haven't found the right juice yet, that seems to be the hardest part for me.
I'm sure someone helpful will be along shortly :)

Hi Alex and welcome to ECF.
im 2 years old ...and i know my brain is all over the place...
I hear ya :D
There's the eGo Class and is generally the first step/ a good entry level- stater kits are about $45- $60:
JoyTech eGo fires @ 3.4 volts
Kgo/ Riva fires @ 3.7 volts
SmokTech eGo fires @ 3.7 volts
The batteries come in 650 and 1100 mah. 100 mah= 1 hr vaping before recharge is needed.

How much do you smoke each day and what brand?

Welcome to ECF Alex!

I would suggest 2x 1000mah Ego Twist and a couple Vivi Nova mini clearomizers. They are a little above entry level but perform really, really well. You can adjust the voltage to deliver a vape according to your taste. They're reasonably priced and the best bang for your buck IMO. The Vision spinner gets great reviews as well but I've no experiene with them so won't recommend.

Well Ill give you guys a little info about what Im used to smoking and all that. I used to smoke Parliment full flavors for Id say 5 years, then i rolled my own for what seemed like ages, (hand rolled, no filter) and i just recently (2 years ago) went to Al Capone's cigarillos, about 1 pack a day.

I was looking at the Volcano Inferno kit, seemed like something that had good battery life and all that jazz, but i could be just finding the kits that people think suck lol.

I guess my main thing is i need a decent amount of vapor or else i dont think im actually getting my fix, if that makes sense.

It's a rebranded JoyTech eGo and fires at 3.4 volts.
The Kgo is the same size and fires at 3.7 volts. Here's a review by highly regarded PB. A Starter Kit is $43- $60 depending on the accessories you add.

Juice Components
Flavoring usually about 15%- could be higher or lower depending on the flavor used.
PG enhances flavor, TH (throat hit)and lung hit- water like
VG= vapor and can mute flavor- thick
Nicotine- TH (throat hit), lung hit and our need for nicotine. The MOST important ingredient in regards to TH and lung hit.
Standards in the industry are 80/ 20 or 70/ 30 PG/ VG. I vape 70/ 30 PG/ VG.

As you see from above everything in the juice we vape can be adjusted.

hey the iCloud 30's are supposedly really really good, keep an eye out and if the budget is there you can replace the vivi's with ic30's

i would give a suggestion on hardware but the consensus here is what i would have suggested... dont let the VV kGo or eGo scare ya, you will more likely stick with vaping with it because you will get a much better vape.....

check out ohms law and if you google ohms law calculator or take the resistance of your attached device and add +2 (2.5ohm - 4/4.5v)

err i am rambling sorry! lots of good suggestions here. lots of experienced folks

just found it on nwvapors.com. looks like a good kit to start out with. are those refillable cartomizers? or whatever they are called lol. if so ill have to buy fluid too.

You want to stay away from the older "tank" (cartridge+ atomizer) systems- prone to leakage.
Here's a Kit:
KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

Give me a minute to get another choice= better value.

Here's another Starter Kit at a GREAT price- fires at 3.7 volts. With the Kgo when the battery dies you have to replace the entire unit. With the EPower the batteries are separate- about $8.00 for two batteries.

Kit Includes:
2 ICR 14650 1050 mah 3.7 V rechargeable batteries
1 Battery Charger
2 2.5ml Mini Vivi Nova's with Ming style Silver drip tip (Use any 510 drip tip)(With 1.8ohm heads)
2 Extra 1.8ohm Heads
1 Battery Tube
1 Switch (HAS 5CLICK ON/OFF LR FRIENDLY WHITE LED)
30ML Bottle of E-Liquid (Specify flavor and strength)
Free priority shipping
Instruction Manual
Presentation Box

COMPLETE E-POWER NOVA KIT and 30ml juice (Free priority shipping)

The Vivi Novas are easy to use- unscrew cap and pour juice in- recap and vape. The elements inside are also cheap and easy to replace- cost about $2.00 each and takes 10 secs to replace. Included in the package are 4 heads- my heads last at least 6-8 weeks.

Some well loved juice vendors are Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Alien Vision, EC Blend, Mountain baker vaper, Mrs T's Bakery and I am sure some other people will chime in with more. Get as many flavors as you can at 1st in the smallest bottles they sell. Then reorder the ones you like in a larger bottle to prevent waste. PG produces less vaper with more taste and throat hit and VG makes plumes of vaper but doesn't carry flavor that well and gives less throat hit. I would recommend trying some different mixes of the two out to see what you like. I would also recommend buying 24 and 18 mg liquid and seeing what suits you best. Too much nic will give you a sick feeling but too little will give you nic fits. Hope this helps and good luck.

Welcome!! So thought I'd just give u my experience. I too was in the same boat as you.. Wife hated the smell and I was tired of going outside in 10 degree weather. I started vaping way back in 09 I first bought one of those cheapy blu cigs similar to Ur gas station ecig. It sucked. BUT I stopped smoking that day.. Well for about too days, until I realized it wasn't enough.

Then I moved on to the ego.. A little better.. Quit totally for about a month or two...but while "smoking" my ego, even though I was still smoking analogs I was only smoking about half of what I used too. Improvement yes. Mind you ego's have come a LONG way since my first one and they really work. If your anything like me, gum, pill, patches, none of that works because I enjoy the feel of the smoke the inhaling and long deep breaths, that is what I was addicted to.

I would recommend the ego twist or similar and a vivi nova mini. There easy to fill with no hassle and u can replace the heads. I now use a provari with a vivi nova and I haven't touched a cig in years. So good luck to you. And like another said.... Welcome to your new obsession!!

Oh and one other thing. Look around at the juice vendors. This plays a huge part. If you find something that tastes really good to you you'll stick with it.
