Hi all as the subject line says I'm new to both this forum and vaping. A little about me well 33 years as a smoker at 2 packs a day. Tried all the patches, gums, cold turkey you name it could never get below 2 packs a day till I saw this at the local smoke shop. I got the Criss Cross basic starter and some juices and figured why not give it a try. Well have been using it for 4 days now and am down to 6 smokes a day which for me is alot. Hope to be to zero smokes by the weekend.
A couple small problems I'm having is I live in a climate that gets pretty cold and being a truck driver I'm in and out from 70 degrees plus down to negative zero temps on a constant basis and this unit I'm using tends to leak at times from the temp changes and also hits very light when it's cold. So was hoping to get some advice on a good unit that could handle this situation and also handle being bumped around in my pocket as well. Currently I'm using Criss Cross regular tobacco juice at 24 nic another question I have is I enjoy being able to just puff on it like a smoke but get too much nic when I do would going down to 6 nic for those times and still using the 24 nic for the boost be a good way to go? Any advice is appreciated thanks

The cold temps are always a pain in the behind. Try keeping it in your shirt pocket when not vaping. This will help keep the juice warm but when you suck the cold air across the coils, well that's where the trouble steps in. Not much other than that I can add. It doesn't get that cold in SE Texas. The nic content is another. Changing from 24-6 is a pretty drastic drop. If the 24 is too high then maybe a 16 might be a good alternative for those driving situations. Just remember that the nic introduction from vaping is different that with smoking. It takes a little longer for it to get into your blood stream. Nic is absorbed through the mucus membranes with vaping whereas with smoking it is almost instantly by the oxygen exchange in the lungs. The best way to keep ahead of it is to not wait until you just gotta have a smoke but to vape a little at a time during the day. It has worked for me for almost three months now. I just take a few vapes and then put it away. Then in a lillte while later, repeat. It takes some getting used to but it will come. You just have to find what works for you.

Yes, the temp change is an issue and as Free said, keep it in a interior pocket when outside. OR, avoid taking it outside of the truck when it is just idling. Another thing is to have a warm padded case. All-in-all, avoid letting the system incur sudden temp changes.

Oh, maybe a sleeping bag (sock) will keep it warm. Several socks at that.

I have 3 tanks for the evening sit in front of the TV vaping. That juice is lower in nicotine so I can just vape my heart out.

I like to keep it at an even keel. This is just how it works for me. What you have to understand is that this is a personal journey. What works for one, may not for another. All I can offer is what works for me and hope it may for you. If using 6 in one tank and 24 in another keeps you from smoking then that's awesome. I would say try experimenting and see what works best.
