Hello all, We are a couple that are very new into e cigs. We just bought the Blu original starter kit. We have mixed feelings. We are enjoying the flavors (Cherry, Coffee) but we have seen on this site that there are a lot of different e cig companies. We like the size and flavors of Blu but we want something that is reliable, safe, good tasting flavors, and something that is not going to brake the bank. Any suggestions?

I do understand the whole analog style thing. I think MOST of us here started with those. We got over them pretty quick though :0). Enjoy your Blu's but keep your eyes and minds open to other styles of vape gear. You never know what you'll end up settling on.

Finding the RIGHT juice is hard for sure! As far as flavors go, the sky is the limit. You like bacon? Someone out there has it!!! If you want to go to other sites and try flavors, see if you can get sample sizes. They won't break the bank quite so much, and you'll get a wider variety. Try things that you normally wouldn't try. It NEVER fails to amaze me how many folks tried a flavor they where sure they wouldn't' like and ended up with their all day vape!!

When you get a bit of a stash going, go here, and do some PIF'ing. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ease-read-1st-post-rules-guidelines-1182.html can try LOTS of flavors through here and different vendors as well.

Good luck, welcome to the ECF and enjoy the vape!

Welcome to the Forum! You will find a wealth of information which at times may seem a little overwhelming, but the important fact is that you made the first step! I personally have only tried the Blu disposables but they were good and got me through a long weekend without going back to tobacco cigarettes.

Just from information others have posted here about the Blu system, it can become expensive buying the prefilled cartridges, but the good thing is that they are readily available in any pinch. I know that Johnson's Creek makes the liquids which are used in Blu ecigs.

Johnson Creek Smoke Juice - America's Smoke Juice! Johnson Creek Smoke Juice

But I also know that the tobacco flavor is the Blu is specifically for the Blu...but if you like it then you might like the other flavors too. You can buy the juice and refill the cartos (cartridges) and they will last you longer.

There are so many choices, and I am sure others will chime in soon. Just take your time and enjoy the vape...and read, read, read.

Well, you get to make a choice now. You either stick with cigarette-like size, or you go bigger. Bigger will be cheaper. Cigarette-like style will be a little more expensive (but still cheaper than cigs). This is entirely up to you, and if your budget is up to it I'd suggest trying both.

Bigger: Get an eGo Twist. There are tons of big e-cigs, but this is (in my opinion) the best place to start. It's no frills, just a big tube that you can dial in the voltage you want.

Cig-sized: The eRoll is the best I've found. No voltage changes or optimization, just fill and go. You'll have to fill more than with a bigger option. But it feels more like smoking.

Either way, move beyond the Blu. It's a cig-sized that is over priced and doesn't allow you to buy the liquid of your choice.

My Husband and I are also new to the vaping scene. We tried a Joy-510 over a year ago and they were junk....a big waste of money imo. This year we went with a Volt x2 battery and T3 Clearomizers from Smokeless Image and let me tell you .... the difference in the experience was like night and day! These things may not look like an analog but the Vapor is amazing! We have both been SMOKE free for almost 30 days! Let me just say that I had smoked almost 2 packs a day for over 30 years and I had been teased for years of smoking like a chimney! I never thought I would ever consider myself a non-smoker...but I feel great!

As for the flavor? I started with a regular non menthol tobacco flavor, as I was a Marlboro Red fan, just to start my transition. Now that I'm not craving the analog and I've experimented with a few flavors from a friend ... the flavors are definitely smoother imo. I have ordered a few flavors from a few different sites and I am awaiting their arrival but I am definitely up for some flavor! :p

It's all about battery size...the rule of thumb is 100mah = 1 hour of vaping, but that isn't always the case due to battery quality.

I started with the ecigalikes as most do since I needed the same feel even though they were heavier than a normal tobacco cigarette. Mine were about 280mah so they lasted about two hours...I soon stepped up to the eGo style batteries which come in a variety...from 350mah to 1300mah, they are more cigar size in circumference, but I could use cartos with those too. Once you start the sky is the limit...I was about $400.00 past my break even point (when vaping surpassed what I would have spent if still smoking tobacco), then my 6 month anniversary happened and I decided to reward myself - now I am in the hole again

Welcome to the world of vaping:) I have gotten many newbies on the road to vaping and I always recommend getting as far away from anything that looks like a cigarette and tastes like a cigarette! I second the vote to go for a Ego twist battery. I love the Visions version2 clearos and if your looking for the cheapest juice out there go through the forums theres lots of real estate on here about cheapest and best tasting juices:) Welcome !!!!

Couple of married vapers here. Welcome, nice to see couples joining in together for a common solution to the stinkie affliction. It wasn't that way here. My wife said I was an "idiot" for spending $100 on a ecig system. I, I repeat I, got an Ego C kit and haven't had a stinkie since. I haven't quit....I'm just upping my days away from them. Couple of days into it, my beautiful bride:D requested that I set one up for her... I did reluctantly. The idiot comment was still fermenting. She smoked and vaped the first three days and has been cig free for three weeks today..:glare: It's the first time in 15 years of marriage that we have something in common....except offspring.

It's been fantastic so far, in all areas;), we've saved a lot of money......ok so I lied about the money. Our break even date???? We had nothing planned for 2026 anyway. You can explore wherever your wallet can take you. The Blu's or whatever system you're using now will become the backup someday. I'll throw in my suggestion......Vision Spinner batteries VV....a couple of Mini Nova's.....Copper Creeks House Blend is to die for. Check out Mt Baker Vapor.....cheap good juice......and hubby's some advice for yourselves.....no matter what you do....no matter what you order for yourself....MAKE SURE YOU DON'T RUN OUT OF HER FAVORITES. Lastly, I will finish the start of the saga......Lisa did apologize in a womanly way. She said " if I DID call you an idiot, I apologize'.....So the moral of the story is, hold each other, apologize when need be(this is for the hubbys), turn your pockets inside out....and don't forget to Vape.:toast:

welcome and congrats to you both. whatever keeps you both off the stinkies is what matters. my hubby and i have both been successful for almost 4 months. we have moved up and gotten better equipment, but hubby just told me tonight that he actually prefers the old cig a like better, so that is what it shall be. i smoked at least 45 years and sweet hubby about 55 years!!!! i kept my nose in this forum reading, learning, laughing. you have time, you don't have to upgrade today. listen to your responses, ask lots of questions, then make a decision. congrats to you both.

Many do. And Blu has its flaws (I know, I bought one) but it's not necessarily a terrible introduction to the vaping world. A number of us got here via Blu.

And there is a lot to absorb about this vaping world. I'm still learning. A lot. Definitely, this is the right place to be. I've picked up tons here at ECF. Just noticed the date. One month ago today, I bought my first Blu disposable. Today, I'm spouting off jargon like "SR Boge cartos" and stuff. :)

If the Blu is working for you, use it, enjoy it. I actually really enjoyed several of their flavors. Still looking for the closest I can get to "Classic Tobacco". Always liked that one. Unfortunately, it's a proprietary thing you can only get from Blu. Still, there are tons of flavors out there. Lots and lots of options. But if it's working, it's working. You may later move on to other systems but, for now, can take your time to get a feel for what's going on in this "vaping" world.

One area to check into is the New Members Information section. It'll help with some of the jargon and terms and other things.

And welcome to ECF!

Thank you all for the advice. I think until we can really research this we will keep using the Blu and not real cigs. But we like the looks of the ones where you can refill the juice!
I still use cigalikes and have not made the jump to a bigger battery yet. I bought the Fin ecig from Walmart that came with 2 batteries for $30. I bought their cartos, then I learned (on ECF, of course) that I could use Blu cartos on my Fin. I loved the varieties of flavors. Then i started doing the math...$15 for a 5 pack of cartos....that adds up, especially when I was a 1.5 PAD smoker.
Then I learned that I could refill the Blu and Fin cartos with juice from all of these various vendors. I visited Mt Baker and ordered a pack of Boge 510 cartomizers and a few (I mean, a lot) of juices. Heaven. I'm still in my experimenting phase with the different flavors, but you can't beat the prices, compared to a $50 a week habit. My advice is to keep reading these forums. Search old posts, there's tons of info out there. And congrats on kicking the habit!
