New to Vaping

My husband and I were on the nicotine patch for two months or so. When we would go out on the weekends and drink we would want to smoke, so we started with the blu e-cigs and still remained on the patch. We realized we were getting too much nicotine when we started to smoke e-cigs on a regular basis. So we stopped the patch. Because we didn't want to go back to cigarettes we started with the ego-t model a few days back w/ 12mg liquid. I feel like I am smoking more of it than I did w/ cigs and am experiencing some insomnia. Any suggestions. Thanks.

Agreed, try a lower nic for a few days and see what happens. I stared on 24mg.. quit my cigs and quickly dropped to 18. Then realized I vaped too much which was causing headaches so im currently between 12/18, leaning more towards 12. When I chain vape like with drinking I try to keep it 12 and under. Thats been working for me so far..my ultimate goal is to get to zero!

I experienced some insomnia in the first week after quitting. It was nothing severe but rather annoying nonetheless.

I sort of assumed it was a result of quitting analogs, not something related to nicotine intake. Could have been either, I guess.

For me, the inconvenience of some sleep loss wasn't enough to make me go running back to analogs. If I were you, I'd take the advice of the posters above me and give a low or zero nicotine liquid a whirl for pre-bedtime use.

Hey Winkie, congrats on the move away from the stinkies. There is a whole science related to the nicotine absorption of "vaping vs smoking". I believe I read a post that vaping is about 1/6th the absorption rate of smoking. I doubt you are overloading with 12mg juice, as long as you are not drinking it :toast:. The insomnia thing could be related to quitting the analogs (not a Doctor nor play one on T.V.). Maybe you should give it a bit more time or consult the family physician.

I think we tend to have more energy anyway when we are away from the cancer sticks. I have certainly found that applies to me. I do agree though that lowring your nic intake should reduce your sleeping problem. I tend to reduce my vaping in the evenings when away from the stresses of the working day and usually try to keep to 12 mg juice using a mod (less effort for more vape)

Two things. In the beginning I was restless because I could breath better and had more energy. That went away after 2-3 weeks. Then after 2-3 months, I was getting too much nic and the restlessness came back, along with anxiety and jitters (headless chicken syndrome). I cut back the nic and caffeine...I'm feeling much better now, thank you.
