I wish somebody had told me that my taste buds would change. I have about 20 bottles of juice that I loved when I first started but now I can't stand. I suggest getting small sample bottles of juice or 1 or 2 flavors to get started with. I've read 100s of post here saying the same. Good luck in your vaping journey...

the MVP should have a charge indicator and should last 2 days or so. you shouldn't need a spare. (or borrow your hubbys for a moment, unscrewing and switching the tanks while yours sits in a charger for a while)

also, 6-8 tanks? why so many? i'd get 3 at the most, especially if you don't like them.

Thank you for the tip, and on the tanks because I am clumsy as can be, wanted extra in case I broke them or on the off chance that my kids got a hold of them when not in use.

Thank you! I am looking into sample sizes, I hate to waste things so I do not want to get big bottles to start off with and end up not liking them.

Yes that is a common mistake many of us have made.

A good thing to do is get some unflavored 24mg liquid.

Then you can get 6mg in flavored liquids; if your 6mg liquids seem too weak you can add some of the 24mg to it to stengthen it.

===
I buy 24mg 100%PG flavored liquid and dilute it with glycerin to save on cost.

I clears are top coil. They have a coil at the top of the tanks with wicks that hang down . Protanks are bottom coil- the coil is at the bottom of the tank and have small wicks, you usually but not always fill them from the bottom. People have diff preferences. I find the bottom coils very cool and prefer the top type.. Best to try both first and then decide which you like best.

my iclears are bottom dual clear and are much warmer vape then the top coil.
the top coils are i would say older models.
there are many different clearomizer types.
i have almost all of them lol.

before buying a bunch of any one style, buy a couple different styles.

what i did was, i had 5 different clearomizers/tanks, loaded the same juice in each tank, vape on one for a few hours and then another.
i was able to determine what i definately didn't like.

top coils were the worst. dry hits if you forget to roll and tumble before vaping.
protanks are in my opinion not beginner friendly.
lost of gurgling or no vapor. you have to keep the tank pretty full for it to work properly. once i rebuild the coil i was able to use them with success. but i don't, won't reccomend a newbie to rebuild.
aspire bdc are horrible, i never got any of those to vape good. they all taste like burnt ashpalt smells.

cartotanks are my favorite for consistant vape. trouble free every time with those.
next favorites are the iclear bottom coils. trouble free every time.
the cartotanks are my fave also because of the look.
but the iclear x.i and iclear 30b are easy to fill on the go and work just as good.
the iclear x.i is glass and the 30b is plastic.

also if you get verified you can check the classifieds for clearomizer/tanks
atleast to check a couple different ones to see what you are going to like.

baditude has some good blogs if you look up his profile page.
he really helped me get going, i wasted over $2,000 before i found my vape bliss.

like i said for me, i settled on the cartomizers, cartotanks, and i clear bdc's. they each have their pros.
like right now i got some new flavors in, so i have boge unpunched cartomizers all filled with different flavors, with different drip tips.
at .95 cents a piece i can fill them a dozen times before tossing.
if i don't like a juice i put the cartomizer in a cup and wait a week and try again.

something you'll learn is a juices taste changes over a few days and weeks.
if i know i love a flavor i load it in a cartotank.
or a iclear bdc, depending on which mod i'm using.
i have tanks dedicated to certain mods based on aesthetics.

the worst mistake i made was buying a bunch of one thing before trying it, usually to save money or get free shipping.
same is true for juices and juice vendors.

whenever i buy a new tank i buy a new coil for it as well incase i burn it or mess it up or whatever.
good luck to you.

remember every one has different vape needs, and what works for one may not work for another.
people have a tendency to like what they are using.

example, if all i ever tried was i clear 16's and protanks, i might say iclear 16's are the best clearo out there.
if i never tried a cartotank i might say they are too much hassle.

what i can say is stay away from single top coils, stay away from aspire bdc, stay away from generic cartotanks. stay away from vivi nova's and ce4

buy small.
make sure your battery is vv or vw or both.

if you have problems with what you buy, come here, ask questions. if it's too difficult to get it working right, try something else.
i've wasted too many hours trying to get protanks to work right consistantly to want to mess with it any more.

you are probably going to waste some money before you get vape bliss and most likely you and your hubby's will be different!

good juice vendors i've found are....
Premium USA E-Liquid, Electonic Cigarettes and Handcrafted USA E-Juice by Mister-E-Liquid.com
www.thevaporroom.com
Alice in Vapeland | All Natural Vape Juice
www.nicoticket.com
Aroma Ejuice Manufacturer of WTA Whole Tobacco Alkaloid Eliquid

the top three have sample packs.
remember if you don't like a juice, put it away for a week or two longer and try again.
90% of all my juices don't get opened for three weeks.
search for coupon codes, check the vendor sites here on ecf for coupons and sales,
join the mailing lists.
ex. the vapor room has a peanut butter cookie i love, it's on sale this week for $10 for 30 ml.
mister E save 10% with coupon code vapetv, they also include a free sample with your order.

aroma, you can request a free sample with your order.

i usually buy two or three flavors from a new juice vendor before i buy more.
don't expect to like all the juices from one vendor.
holidays means extra savings if you are up to speed here on ecf and on mailing lists.
that's when i try to make bulk purchases.
fathers day there were many buy two bottles get one free.
it's nice to know ahead of time what flavors you like, so don't be afraid to have more than one favorite vendor.

with cigarettes i had a brand loyalty.
not with vaping.
i buy what i like and what i can afford.

Most important with MVP ( and most PV's)- don't tighten your toppers on past snug. You'll push the battery post down inside the MVP.

Also, wait until the green light (charging indicator) goes OUT for a full charge. ( am I right on this, ECF' ers?)

There is also a great MVP thread here to help you figure out the electronical adjustments.

What would you consider beginner friendly?
    Well cartomizers would be.
But for tanks, what would be beginner friendly? Topcoil?

Hello all, I could use some recommendations. A little background: the husband and I have been smokers for over 20 years. Currently we are a pack and half a day smokers. We desperately want to get off the cigarettes and start vaping. We have tried e-cigs before but did not like them at all, from my reading I think it had a lot to do with the brand we were using (Blu). Husband currently smokes menthols and I am smoking lights 72's.

We want to use liquids and I already know which ones we will be purchasing and from where but I do not know what type of e-cig setup to get. We want to start off slow and have something where we can charge the battery, fill up the tank and go! I have been looking at the ego ce4,

The CE4 is a very low end tank and will cause issues.... look more into a tank that runs 12-20$ metal/glass construction

would this work for what I am wanting? Also husband says he wants something with a smooth hit (his words), he did not like the throat burn he experienced with Blu.

He should be looking into a hi VG ( glycerin) based juice. He probably has a sensitivity to PG based juices..

Can anyone give me suggestions on what to buy and where to buy? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am getting overwhelmed with all the choices.
    Thank you in advance!

Heathers Heavenly Vapes offers many flavors in VG (100%) based flavors for him, you may even like some of the choices too :)
A vape Store ( B&M brick & mortar) local to you can set you up with a dual starter kit for around 75-100$ for both of you...

Thank you once again everyone, you guys and gals are awesome!

I found a couple of local stores and they carry everything I am looking at and them some. Two of the stores also have tasting bars so I can try out some different liquids to see what we like. We are going to hit them up tomorrow morning, I'm so excited.

I'm sorry if its taking me a while to respond to everyone, had to get dinner ready and run some errands.

if you really intend to get that many tanks, then throw in an aerotank for giggles so yall can compare.

After reading the rest of the replies I am going to get one or two of several different kinds of tanks so I can test them out to see what we like best. The aerotank is on my list to look at and pick up tomorrow if they have them at the store :)

    The aerotank and the nautilus are the two hot clearo tanks this year;

I'm quite a newbie myself but no one really mentioned much about the ohms for the harsh throat hit. From everything I've read that would be something you might want to make sure you get right for hubby! I like 1.5 ohm being I like the strong throat hit. The higher you go the more less throat hit you get. Since he should probably have the nicotine I'd say pay attention to ohms and pg/vg ratio as others have mentioned! Good luck! :)

I dont find top coils beginner friendly at all,
In my experience with helping my parents fifty something, dad loves cartotank, my brothers and friends, thirties, my son and some of his friends 20's

The following are easy to use and get a good vape,
    Smoktech PBC V2

    Smoktech Tumbler

    Kanger T3S Mini

    Innokin iClear 30B

    Innokin iClear X.I Pyrex

I have not tried the aerotank,or the nautilus.
Probably wont, the price isnt right for me.
If im gonna spend more than $15on a tank, I'll get a cartotank.

So i can not say if those tanks are user friendly or not.

I opted to go with the iclear x.I and with a different drip tip found it to be darn near perfect for ME.

LUCKILY for my friends and family i let them try out all my vape tanks/clearos so when they go shopping they know what works for them.
The common denominator has been that no one picks to keep the top coils, or protanks

Good luck to you! I am a new to vaping...just started yesterday. My nephew has been vaping for awhile and recommended that I start with the innokin iTaste vv v3 and the Pyrex ARO V2 by Smok Tech for the tank. I got my setup yesterday and so far I am really enjoying it. While I was waiting for it to arrive by mail I went to a retail shop and they had me sold on an mvp2 but after his long sales pitch he told me they were out of stock. I honestly don't care for the box mod and would never carry it out with me, but thought it would be a great for at home use or just to use in the car. I love the fact that it can be used to charge your phone and the battery life is so long. I would really recommend the vv v3 to you for use outside the home if you'd like something a bit less clunky looking. :) I have been a smoker for 25 years at a pack a day. I have started out with 18mg on the nicotine, but hope to taper off from that to 12 mg in the next few days. I had bought a pack of cigs yesterday morning before my package arrived, but since I started my vaping around 5pm yesterday I've only smoked 4 regular cigs. Excited to be kicking that habit and saving money! :) Happy vaping!

best bang for the buck would be, the made in China, 30 watt capable, box mod, that takes a single 18650 batt, and can be charged by usb. Excellent quality and will provide a great vape. 101Vape is a great source for gear and supplies.

Get something like a Aspire Nautilus atomizer to start off with, then once you get your vape on, check the re-buildable options out, such as the Kayfun or Taifuns, and learn to build. That will get you where ever you want to vape at.

    Hello Wondermom,

I just started with a simple e-cig starter kit and for that time it was more then enough, one little step up and yes we get overwhelmed of so much stuff can buy, I don't think it's smart to start with provari/RBA's and those devices, I bought my first device a Taifun GS after long time looking around and this still my perfect rebuildable, after I just bought a Diver V2 of Atmistique and gosh what a disappointment this device is while there are so much good reviews about it.
Buy a Justfog to start with, just simple equipment and just read for now much you can but don't believe everything, what people buy is always the best and when someone into bliss because just bought it, there reviews are mostly far from good.

I love my diverv2, but dont think that should even be discussed here lol. My kayfun is ok.. But neither is beginner friendly.

I thought id love building, but i dont. I just want to get my nicotine fix.

I do disagree about the not buying a provari, have you seen the resale on that?
I bought one ok two early in the game and wish i had bought it sooner. I bought it because if i didnt like it, one they have a money back return policy, in the first two weeks, and you can resell it for 20 or 30 dollars cheaper than you bought it, and it will go quick.

    Never heard of just fog.

Never say never i didnt like the box mod at first. Now i do, no bigger than a pack of smokes. I mean we were use to carrying that around just fine.

I think other than the rebuilding, most of what has been reply'd has been good advice.

I spent a lot of money on rebuilding, and its fun to mess with on a saturday, its not something i count in for a hassle free vape.

I wouldnt say avoid building ,like the plague or anything, but i would say find some plug and play tanks first.
