I haven't tried it, but I have read that past 4.7 - 4.8 volts, it actually burns the juice if the Atty is less than 3 ohms. Considering most attys are 2.x ohms, I don't see the value of going past 4.x
Correct me if im wrong but Joyetech who makes eVic is chinese company. I boubt that anywhere in the world (including china) there are as much mac/linux/unix/whatever-else users as there is in the USA. Still most of the people use windows and thats why its made for windows as #1 . Ofcourse, for their own good - they should add support for other operating systems also soon but still you cant give a negative "score" for that just because you dont use the most "used" OS in the world.
Would be same if i would move into USA and take my car with me and then start to yell that theres no spare parts for it in US

This all comes down to how long your puffs are. I take 7-10 second puffs, so I vape lower. Some folks take a shorter puff and can use the power to get enough vapor in a few seconds.
Thicker juice also needs more power. Menthol, sweetener, and other variables effect this as well.

I believe the eVic is made in Korea, not China.

have you checked pbusardo and a few other reviews, one of the first things they say is its plastic-y and feels cheap. so i doubt if your a destroyer of many things this will last very long for you.

I'll probably pick an e-vic up shortly after they become available. I'm having good success with my eGo-C and the reviews I've seen thus far have been favorable. Fit and finish appear excellent - anything but cheap - and the user interface looks to be relatively intuitive. The software is a non-issue. I'll run statistics on an excel spreadsheet when I begin experimenting with various voltages and different levels of resistance. Just my two cents. YMMV.

I'm picking up an eVic as soon as I get paid this month. So far I've only owned Ego's. Ego-C and Ego-V and have been happy. I need something with more battery and power though. eVic seems like the perfect fit for $105~. Maybe if I get really serious I'll throw down on a Provari. I just can't justify $150-200 on a single device.
