Should have said vapor condensation. That's pure juice.

Glad you got it working again after cleaning. Did you follow my recommended cleaning process that I posted on the previous page when this happened?

I saw you mentioned a couple pages back about the hidden screw on the top panel, if you do have the fifth screw how would you recommend cleaning the tank?

Edit: Search function Duh. I found it. I'll repost if anyone is interested.

The key to cleaning the tank is to make sure you have either an rba base or cs base in the egrip body before filling it with water, vodka or whatever cleaning fluid you choose to use. Otherwise you run the risk of getting cleaning fluid into the electronics side of the unit where it can short out the control board and ruin the unit.

With the rba or cs base installed fill the tank with cleaning fluid through the fill port to near full level. Then shake shake shake. Next with the egrip upside down remove the rba or cs base. Next pour out the contents of the tank with the power button side of the egripfacing up. This will keep fluid from entering the electronics. Next dry the threads of the rba or cs base and the egrip base threads. Reinsert rba or cs base and repeat as many times as necessary.

I have cleaned my egrip tank out a many times this way. So far so good.

Looking for some tips using the purchased coils for the RBA base.

I seem to either have too much wick and no airflow,

Or not enough with to airy of a draw and leaking out the base.

When it's right, it's really right. Great flavor, vapor, and no leaking. But I'm having a hard time finding that sweet spot.

Are we cutting the wick shorter? fluffing it?? tucking it into the base?? Keeping the coil close the the base? slightly raised???
E C T . . .

I cut off my wick a couple of mm's above the little chimney part. Then I sort of fan it out, so that when I tuck it in, the wick covers all the juiceholes. But it keeps being a hit-or-miss process. But of any leaking does occur with this way of wicking, it's very marginal.

I'm gonna try that in a minute. Are you tucking all the way down to the base of the chimney??. Squashing the coil closer to the base, or keeping it raised??

Ok I will make sure to level also.

The one I have in. After taking in back out, then in, and in out in out basically jackin with it a number of times. is currently NOT LEAKIN, and HITTIN HARD. So I'm gonna vape it like I stole it, till it goes kerplunk.

But when it does go kerplunk, I'm all in with these tips.

The flavor and vapor is soo much better. I just give my purchased head's the stink eye when I look at them. I'm Like " You guys (purchased heads) suck! I don't like you anymore"

When I unscrew my RBA base the chimney comes apart attached to the top piece and I can't separate the two. So I'm left with the base as one part and the chimney/top part together as one so I can't do any "bunny ears tucking". Thankfully I don't get any leaking really aside from a few drops when I initially fill up the tank. That and maybe slight condensation that collects right at the RBA base opening but that doesn't touch the desk so don't mess there. If I put it in my shirt pocket where something can go even the slightest way up the bottom hole then my shirt might soak up a drop or two. I've only used the supplied extra coils for the most part aside from one time where I switched out the cotton to test something. I haven't needed to trim the supplied coils cotton and just tucked it all around the base as evenly as I could. Has worked thus far.

I feel for ya dawg. Sometimes my chimney cap or sleeve can be difficult to remove but I always manage to get them unscrewed. The trick I use is to make sure I don't squeeze the chimney tube at all when loosening. Make sure the pieces are clean from juice and bone dry....then apply all your effort into rotational force....no squeezing the tube or it will not loosen.

Ms170, 025 & ms440....all modded with older non-epa carbs...loving them all...Stihl rocks....oops, a little off topic..soooory...lol
I bought an MS170 just because I really liked the fluid caps. Used it for a few minute and put it back in the truck and took it back the next day and asked my STIHL guy why he sold me that saw and let me give you this back and upgrade it to a 210 please. Love the 250 and the 44 for sure.

Does anyone know of clearo's that put out similar amounts of vapor and flavor to the e-grip? Just looking for something for my backup 20W istick. An Aspire K1 has good flavor but not as much vapor. The subtank nano is way overkill. Maybe a GS-Air? The Ego One clearo is showing promise too. Any suggestions appreciated, or a link to a similar thread, I've looked but not found much.

I would suggest the GS Air- they use the same coils.

I would also go with the GS-air.. you can test the coil (or already have) in your e-grip apparently they work. I usually am a genny only user but this GS-Air has turned out pretty good.. I am impressed..

Here is a link to GS-air thread...41000 posts and growing.. :)

For rba only....Eleaf Lemo. For factory heads or rba....Kanger Subtank Mini. Both are outstanding clearos that can be run from 15-35w....no leaking, no gurgling, no dryhits, outstanding flavor and vapor production, airflow control from near zero to monster. STmini is easier to fill, easier to build on rba, can use factory organic cotton coil heads (.5ohm or 1.2ohm) and comes with a replacement glass tank. Lemo flows juice better for up to 60w.

Either way the Istick20 needs builds less than 1.5ohms to produce the full 20w.

Good luck Ian

What have you guys done about the issues with the eGrip not functioning. Mine had a full battery, I rewicked, it worked for 5 min, and now has completely stopped working. No light...nothing. It doesn't even light up when I plug it in. I emailed the vendor and Joyetech US and I am waiting to hear back. I recommended the thing to two other people and they have both had similar issues. My brother can fix his issue by slamming the mf on the table, and then it will work, but I don't want to do that (well, I do, but that wouldn't work for me). I am pretty frustrated with the thing, which is a shame because it is such a great idea. Have you guys found any fixes?
