Like you I am super careful when cleaning out the tank and tape up the USB port (and tiny airflow hole just in case). If water is the culprit the only place I can think it may have gotten into the device would be around the fire button even though water never usually goes near that side when cleaning.

Like you, I put a ticket in last night so will see what joyetech say.

In the meantime I'll pop it away and check it in a few days and hope it magically comes back to life.

Might try putting it in a bag with some white rice.

The airflow is open between the bottom cap. Leave the coil base in and flush it out through the fill hole, or liquid goes straight in. Leaving the coil base in will at least limit it. My solution is to not change flavor profiles, or change coil/ and have a few vapes of mixed flavor then it's gone.

That's what I meant, but not everyone has the RBA base, so I was giving the next best idea. Just NOT THROUGH THE OPEN BASE HOLE. way too open to the electronics.

Yep, got that the first time Cello, attempting to clean the tank on this device without an rba base installed is just asking for trouble imo. Took a couple egrips apart. The adj airflow hole wasn't sealed from the electronics section very well on either so I wouldn't trust it. $12 bucks seems like a pretty cheap investment to be able to safely clean the tank. Vapor and flavor is better too.

There was a recent thread seemingly related to this that I posted my thoughts on - the teardown vids I found on Youtube help to think this out (I linked them in my post in that thread). I still haven't attempted to clean my eGrips yet - will prolly happen in the next week, even though I'm not a flavor-changer, I think they're overdue / it can't hurt.

Yep tried replacing the coil but still no luck.

When I turned it off and put it back on charge it didn't have a coil in it. Usually when the base is out and no coil inserted it just flashes 3 times.

Am hoping you are right and a little bit of water may have gotten it in and shorted so with a bit more drying time it will come good. Not holding my breath though.

You would have thought ease of cleaning the tank would have been high on Joyetech's list of requirements with this thing. It's the only thing that is putting me off rushing out to buy another. I love the unit but damn I hate cleaning it.

Last resort, drop the whole thing in a large bag of cheapo white rice.......should absorb any moisture, sometimes this works. Leave it in there for a few days.

I've "washed" keyboards from computers out in sinks....after spilling coffee into them accidentally.............then left in sun to dry......and they start working again. You never know.

Thanks Cello. I never even thought of flushing through the fill hole with the base screwed in - doh !!!!! I am kicking myself for not thinking of this method. Way simpler then taping up the holes. If it comes back to life will clean with the RBA base screwed in.

Followed the suggestions and have buried the entire unit in the rice container in the pantry and told the family not to touch the rice for the next few days LOL.

Will report back in a few days.

Oh bummer mom, I feel for ya. Hated have to send mine back. Never been addicted to to a device so much. Nicotine yes; device no.lol

If you bought it from Vicki at Cignot she'll probably fix you right up. She sent my new egrip with a postage paid return envelope so I could use mine until it arrived. It would charge if I put tension on the cord just right and worked until the day before I received the new one.....close enough.

Possibly just the cord end it self? Even my cords for tablet/phone that once were a snug fit and charged good eventually go to almost loose and don't stay connected to the device. Pita, but maybe try a new USB cord. For whatever reason they get wore out easily.

Cignot is amazing! I ordered an second Egrip, and in the comments asked if they had, or knew where I could purchase a new glass tank, as I had dropped my Egrip a few times and cracked it. When my package arrived, there was a new tank included for NO CHARGE with tips on how to install it. Thanks Vicki.
Now if I can fix the USB that popped out while the new one was on its way. (Same cord at the right angle deal.. Until it just came off the board)

Mine will kinda seep from around the edges of the bottom plate after 4-5 tanks. Has been a reliable indicator that my coil needs to be cleaned/rewicked

Otherwise, I haven't had a single leaking issue since I modified my RBA

Mine will leak and gurgle if I don't take some extra tiny pieces of cotton and stuff them down where the holes are blocked by the screws.

I do vape high PG (80%), so I get a little seepage at the bottom but not enough to be an issue.

In another thread this was mentioned. They said they tightened the plate and it stopped. I do not know whst screw driver to use on the plate. I thought mine was doing that but it turned out I was leaving a bit of juice under fill port door and that seeped out and around the bottom. Good luck...

Yes, only time I had an issue was when I didn't take a few puffs after filling or when I wicked wrong.

Mine leaked and gurgled when I stuffed too much wick in the chimney. Trimmed the wick and it was fine.

So no response to why ppl are buying multiple egrips? I can understand having a backup but some have mentioned buying 3 or more. Also I can see buying one more for additional flavors but seems like a lot when you can just switch out the wick.

Secondly I was thinking about getting something like a 306 atomizer for ease of use when testing new flavors when mixing my own. Would any of you go that route or would you just drop a lil on your rba and then keep stitching the wick? Or is there a diff way you handle that task?

I go the RBA route. Then you can get a full experience of the juice.
