I have to admit I'm a little bummed that my Ego One tanks and a favorite rda don't make contact. Guess those will be better suited on the SX Mini anyhow. But what a price to pay for springs! Lol
Could you just do what I used to do with my old Spinners? Just gently pry the pin up with a needle or mini screwdriver? I don't have one yet, but if the pin is sitting in a rubber/silicone grommet like the Spinners do, then maybe, right? Or can you access the pin from inside to push up?

The best solution--get a few circuit board spacers from Madvapes. Drop one into the 510 well. Problem solved--works like a charm--no pulling, pushing, magnets, extra o-rings. Genius. :)

I hope those have a PEEK Insulator.

I know this is so pre-2000 posts but, I sent some email to FastTech asking if the RBA mini clone had a PEEK insulator and they responded with "yes", FWIW Guess I'll need to take a close look at one and compare it to an authentic RBA.

So far loving my Subox kit! it's ALOT smaller than pics and video make it look! Adjustable airflow is great, battery level is nice to have and so is VW. The RBA is small but easy to build and wick.
Coming from using a mech dripper to this I have no complaints! Now I don't have to drip every 5 mins!!

Using the RBA with the stock coil I'm getting burnt taste after 30 watts no matter how I wick it... Anyone else run into this?
I found a sweet spot around 25 watts and am happy there but was just curious if anyone else can get higher than 30 watts? Or do I have to change the build?

Thanks @blivey for making this thread or I would have probably not seen or heard of this kit for a while.

Welll after a bunch of screwing around with this thing, it seems like running the .5 coil, at around 26 watts, lowest airflow settings, and adding a drop of Koolada per 5 ml has given me the TH I have been looking for. I know I could up the nic level of the juice but am really trying to avoid that.

This is my second setup, having an eGo One before this. It's a bummer my eGo kept leaking between the top of the head and bottom of the chimney. I am thrilled I don't have any leaking issues what-so-ever with the Subox. It kind of makes me feel a little ill seeing how much $ I have dropped in the past 10 days (I heard we're not suppose to talk about those types of things around here tho ;) ) to get started but it will be worth it in the long run. Going on day 2 cigarette free :)

Thanks for everyone's help and advice. Happy vaping!

Glad you were able to find the sweet spot. The initial investments are always tough but once you get what you need the upkeep is way cheaper than smoking. Invest in juice making supplies and next thing you know vaping is practically free. Unless of course you start buying a bunch of stuff you don't need like the rest of us who regularly post in this thread.

I can vape mine with RDA at 33W or so occasionally but 25-28W is where I like it.
I found that better wicking just prevents me from outvaping the wicking not allow me higher wattage.
I modified an original STM RBA so it can keep up with chain vaping until I get ill but it still tastes wrong (to me) over 30W and it leaks like a sieve if I lay it down.
Stock premade RBA coil or my own 26ga 3mm @ .6Ω or OCC = best at 23-28W

I finally broke out the RBA today. Threw in a twisted 26ga coil that reads at .4 and a fairly airy pancake type wicking job. I am impressed, great flavor and huge clouds around 30 watts. The wicking problems of the past RBA's are certainly not an issue anymore. The vape is a bit warm which surprised me because I am going pretty low wattage for the build but I don't mind a little heat. I probably won't go back to the stock coils now that Kanger finally seems to have gotten the RBA right.

Me too. Thanks again for the advice. That Koolada really made a big help for the TH without having to up the nic.

I do see the Heartland starter kit in my near future :)

Less wick and a half hour soak before firing helped me.

I don't know how condoned this is but I took the bottom off my eGo tank, pushed on the top of the pin forcing the pin down with a screw driver, and the eGo tank made contact after that. I pushed down with a fair amount of force and didn't really feel the pin move at all but it worked!

something like this may help on an RDA whose 510 pin is too short.

Thanks for the advice, folks! It doesn't go unappreciated :)

Prob just gonna order one (or more) of those black STM clones. It's a real pain switching from Ni to standard coils with just the one tank. Looks as though the included drip tip is stainless? Hmm...
