    Maybe

    But i doubt it

I doubt the instant it hits 3.6 it's going to cut off.

Probably will allow for some sag at higher settings.

The mini I ordered states 20+ amp cells only.

I sure hope so. Either that or a delay for whatever cutoff it uses. That's what is done with a lot of battery management system chips to avoid "nuisance" shutdowns from shorter duration, higher current draws.

[edit] @jseah, does it continue to happen if you start taking shorter hits (after it shuts down at least once)? The voltage won't drop as far with a shorter hit but it might also indicate whether the low-voltage cutoff has a timer.

Alot of it is going to be determined by build and wattage. Cant expect to run .3 ohm at 50w and have it last all day

I've used the subox until the battery dropped to where the mod no longer fires and the low battery warning pops up on the screen 4 times now since I first received it. Every time I take the battery out and put it into my Xtar VP4 charger, the digital readout on the battery shows at 3.5x volts and when the charging lights turns red to show that the battery is starting to charge, the digital displays always shows the battery voltage at 3.61 volts when it starts the charging cycle. As I said, this has happened to me 4 times. So the only conclusion I can come up with is that the mod cuts off when the battery drops below 3.6 volts.

The same model battery (SX30), when in my ipv4 and it drops to where the mod no longer fires, when I take the batteries out and plug them into the VP4, shows at 3.15 volts and immediately jumps up to 3.2 volts when the charge cycles starts.

It doesn't shut down in the sense where you have to do the 5-click sequence to turn the mod back on. It shuts down in the sense that if I try to hit the fire button, it refuses to fire and the screen flashes "low battery".

Right?! My brother vapes all day on his mod; I get 1/2 a day and have to recharge. We have identical attys, builds and mods. But why does he get twice the battery life? Because he vapes 1/2 the juice. Mils of juice vaped at a specified wattage is the best way to communicate battery life imo....how many days someone gets before recharging doesn't mean anything without knowing those two things.

I have to agree, my wife vapes low wattage like 15-20, I vape like 35-40 and my battery and juice goes a lot quicker. She can go like two days without a charge, I only make it 5-6 hours.

Does the amount of juice vaped matter? It's that wattage that determines how much is pulled from the battery, determining how long it will last. Two different people can have the same mod, build, and wattage, but use different amounts of juice depending on how well that build is done, i.e., how efficient it is in getting the juice vaporized.

I think it is a good indicator. If you take bigger draws or more frequent draws you will use more juice and take up more battery power. Slight differences in build shouldn't make a big difference in juice consumption, at least not on the level of wattage, puff size and frequency of use.

Good points about juice cinsumption being similar between two of the same builds.
But the bigger or more frequent draws will still pull more charge out of the battery anyway, no matter how much or how little juice is used. It's still the amount of charge being removed that determines battery life.

I do see the usefulness of possibly having some kind of rating for a battery that relates it to juice consumption though. But, can you say that a battery will vape a certain amount of juice in any build or atty? I think all we could do is say that a certain battery handles a certain amount of juice, at a certain wattage, with a certain build, with a certain atty. I'm not sure if anyone else could use that number unless they had the same setup.

Agreed, I was thinking more in terms of all things being equal juice consumption is a good indicator. There are so many variables it is hard to really give any kind of accurate rating. I really judge all my mods based on how long they last for me specifically and my real scale is either it lasts all day or it lasts less than a day. Subox style kbox is my shortest life mod, old subox is second shortest, istick 30 is 3rd, evic is fourth and sigelei 150 is my longest lasting. My mechs I never carry around all day and usually only use in short bursts so I have no idea how they compare.

Got an email from them this morning that I could barely understand saying the White ones would be in next week because Kanger shortened the supply of white ones due to bugs they found in the hardware. They said they had the black in stock and offered to ship a black one right away instead and I took them up on it. Either way they will never have my business again.

Well it finally came today and My Vape Deal was nice enough to include a 5 pk of replacement coils so I am finally a happy camper. So far so good, thrilled with the purchase.
