How did the 510 itself become standard after Ego connections? Just seems like such a small and fragile diameter.
I'm not really sure, while the duality of the ego style connection is nice it has definitely fell into the obscure while the 510 rose to the top. I just want to see all 510s have equal length, equal depth, and equal center pin height and width. It's not hard at all and necessary IMO, if innokin and Kanger would set the standard everyone else would follow suit I believe.

This is my concern, though. If the subtank has issues with spring-loaded pins... And the subox mod is being changed to a sping-loaded pin....?

Perhaps the give in the spring will be fairly rigid? I can't imagine they will want to change all of the tanks over to adjustable pins in order to compensate for it (although I wish they would), so I wonder how that is going to work out.
I have 3 subtanks that work perfect in my 4 spring loaded mods. The only mod I have occasional issues with its my fixed pin mod. Just saying.

That's good to hear. Do you use the prebuilt coils or the RBA? I think I've heard of more people having problems making a connection with the latter, but I also know many people have no issues at all (and conversely, a few have trouble with the occ). Funny how it isn't a universal issue, despite being manufactured by machines.

Edit: Out of curiosity, which four spring-loaded mods do you have?

It's only in my mvp 3, and seems more frequent with the rba. I actually thought the original mvp 3 was spring loaded? IDK lol, I'm just saying it's definitely no issue that I've ever even thought of. I actually make sure a mod is spring loaded to accommodate my subtanks.

Those look slick! But...how would you see your juice levels? Idk if I could handle that lol.
If I could get one for my subtank plus, I'll just refill it every evening. Same with my mini. I can tell the juice level just by my battery life now lol. Not saying I'm perfect with it, but I'm really close guessing. I'd much rather have a bit of a dry hit than no tank. If I'm using the RBA (which is always ;)) I'll be able to tell before it dry hits.

The 510 connection is actually quite sturdy on flush mount RDAs. The ego threading lends instability to anything wider than the tank fitted onto it. Thats why they create beauty rings for wide tanks and RDAs, for stability as well as looks.

Using spring loaded tanks or RDAs with spring loaded mods create issues. The mod having a spring loaded pin would actually help with the connection on a fixed pin RDA or tank.

These aren't available through Kanger yet. This is a pre-production picture.

Yes,please! No broken glass to worry about.

Here is this again so nobody misses it. These actually look really sturdy.

This is clearly form over function. I have no interest in something like this. I've got a whole drawer full of the solid SS tank option that came with the Aeros. I never used them and always wondered why they bothered to include them. The Aero could have cheaper if they didn't include these by default as part of the Aero tanks. My shinyitus has a limit, but as is alway the case, to each their own.

Interesting though that as temp control mods become more popular, the standard even, viewing your juice level will become unnecessary because burnt hits will be a thing of the past. So the function of transparent tanks will fade while form and function of nonbreakable tanks will rule.

Cig the prophet...

I'm in some pretty rough areas throughout my workday/week. Buddy of mine had the stainless sleeve on his Aerotank and it was pretty awesome. I'd love to not worry about breaking glass. For now, they just get used at home/in my office.

Honestly, I think the Subox is a little ridiculous now that I'm studying the idea. Does it even have an ohm reader function for the RBA deck? No spring loaded pin (Yes, I have a KBOX, set pins are awful)? And it doesn't come with a battery? Even Aspire has re-wrapped batteries that for better or worse have probably been tested by them quite a bit. Kanger needs that for beginners who easily get ripped off by vendors who have a million battery choices.

I couldn't waste money on this mod until at least the first two options are there. Without those, this mod really isn't worth anything more than a KBOX. $15.

Please name one mod that does the same thing at the same price point, with a spring loaded pin. And it has a built an ohmmeter. How else would it use watts? See the screen on there? Don't be so quick to judge.

Had an eGo style battery with a mini Aerotank 3 (or something like that) which took a 40'+/- fall from a JLG lift when I bent over to get a tool from my tool bag. I learned quick to not carry in my shirt pocket any more.
I know the SS sleeve Vs. the glass would not have made a difference in my case :(

I don't have a problem with the Subox starter kit. I recommend it to novice vapers and experienced ones that like to build the RBA. It looks nice, it's reliable, versatile, removable battery and does everything I'd want. I have no interest in a spring loaded 510 or TC. Although no one has any accurate numbers, I'll bet Kanger has set a sales record with this kit. But as I've always said, to each their own. If it fits get it, if not, don't.
