I think with kanger it is more in the design than anything else. They make products that look good together. You may sacrifice some performance or features but it looks like a set and with vaping being as much a hobby as a smoking cessation tool people like to have good looking gear.
This. Most of the reason I bought one is because it looks so awesome. And then the price. And then because the subtanks are great tanks. Im definitely part of the demographic theyre marketing to lol people who like good looking cheap well functioning stuff thats easy to open up and use, but customizable if you want to go that route for the more advanced ppl. I think theyre gonna hit a HUGE market with this set.

I assume the old rings will work so if you have another it will be easy to swap out, my plus has black o rings on bottom and red on top and looks pretty slick.
Ive gotta plus too...the subox comes with a mini. Which is cool, its not a big deal, I just think the red orings would be nice if they have them in there for customization like they did with the plus.

Agreed. I am with you on the form factor, I like having a setup that looks good. It would be awesome if they came with O-rings in multiple colors. I could use the black and red in the white tank or the white and red in the black tank. I still haven't ordered because I can't decide on white or black. I want both so I can mix and match the pieces but I am trying to stick to not paying for two before trying them out. I am weak in my ability to not buy every shiny object I see

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
Nobody see's my mods but me for the most part and if someone isn't blown away by how it looks thats A OK with me lol. As long as it vapes great is all i care about.

I look at Kangertech as kind of unproven in the mod building business , if i don't know what quality the chips are and if the company has an extremely short track record where overall dependability can't be known i'll stick to a company who has proven to put out long lasting dependable mods .

Especially if the mod is somewhat pricey , appearance to me comes after quality.

I just noticed it comes with a USB cable, is that for charging? Or only for updates? It would be nice to plug and charge so I don't have to constantly pull my battery out and carry around a bulky 18650 charger.

It is for charging and can be used as a pass through. So they say. The chips in this range haven't done so well when it comes to charging and pass through (SMOK?). If Kanger pulls that off, it is a coup over the competition. Currently, I'd charge batteries in a dedicated charger for any of these small box mods no matter what they say.

A lot of people vape where I work and we don't have much else in common so new gear reviews and discussion is pretty common. I guess it's petty but it's fun to have cool new stuff to show off. I'd rather have 3-4 mid quality setups than one really expensive one, just gives more to talk about and play with, also hurts less when you break something.

ha-ha. Like SMOK, or Cloupor? This entire category has been plagued. The Kbox has been on of the few without incident.

yeah Ive never bought a box mod just because they look ridiculous to me even though I want one. Well besides the Kbox, which isnt bad at all except for the fact its minimalist as far as functions you can control how you want..but it isnt exactly a box and it doesnt look cheap, only other box mod Ive seen that doesnt look like an old tv from the 70's is the sx mini but its way too much to pay for a mod in my book. Im too prone to losing them. Id never walk around anywhere with the Kbox in public. Id be proud to hang out at the bar with the Subox tho.

And yeah, the usb cord is a charging cable.

Good to know, I only have one mod with a passthrough but the entire device has issues so I never used it enough to know if the passthrough has issues. I did notice it would say it was charged and then drop to like 80% the second I unplugged it.

I use my kbox more than I thought I would. My go-to box is a sigelei 150 with a wrap that makes it look like a nintendo controller but I usually keep my kbox on me with a subtank mini and use it as my primary backup. Once you get used to having a bigger box and get over the awkward factor you will wonder why you didn't always use a box but it does take a while to get used to.

If I remember correctly it was a specific lot number that had the majority of issues. Maybe look it up and make sure you don't have one of the SN's that are likely to have problems. Who knows how many vendors were impacted but the online vape community will crucify a company quick and a bad reputation can make it more work than it is worth for vendors to explain away issues.
Just got mine a few weeks ago so I'd imagine it's all good.

I apologize if this has been asked already but are they going to sell just the mod or are you going to have to get a freaking kit and then purchase batteries on top of it.
You will have to buy batteries but it has passthrough charging and vaping. For a full setup less than $60 spending $15-20 on batteries isn't that bad. Most of us either already have the 18650s or would have bought them anyway.
