Made my very first twisted wire coil today. 28g. Kanthal on a 2 mm ID Kuro Koiler, 9 wraps= .9 ohms. Had to wick it twice as I got to much Cotton on the first try. Seems like loose through the coil and short ends works the best. I'm proud of myself for tackling a new coil in hopes of chasing flavor. Seems to work better with the middle AFC setting.

Now to try Clapton's...

I have to order some smaller wire before I try a clapton. I have 28g and 26g. Also have about 3 ft of 30g but not sure if it would be enough for a set of coils. I am enjoying playing around with the 26g twisted though. 5wraps, 3mm id, reading .3ohms on a Tugboat v2, wide open. Beautiful flavor. They are a little dark because I have been vaping a sweeter juice. Muffin Man.... yum!

Alright guys, I have been playing around with the RBA and came up with a REALLY good vertical coil build. I took pictures of all of the important steps. It is a 26g twisted vertical coil. Reads out @ .7ohms and no dry hits at 50w. Let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything I could have added to make it easier to follow. I may be making more tut albums.

Welp, had to take the plunge....eGrip died last nite, won't charge....tried 3 different cords, and 2 outlets :( Just blinks the 40 times, even tried the stock coil that it came with....nothing.
3 different B&M's....white only :grr: Guess I'll get a wrap later.

BUT, on a good note....man does this thing hit hard.(using stock .5ohm coil @ 22w)

Big things come in small packages. I, personally, think Kanger hit a home run with the Subox kit. This thread has the answer to just about any question you may have about the kit, but feel free to ask if you can't read through. We love to help out.

Looks great @blivey! What diameter are you wrapping at?

I think I have a problem, compared to my other tanks, the subtank mini is my tamest tank out of all of them using the 0.5ohm coil..not that it's a bad thing but I wouldn't say it hits hard at all..

3mm ID, I updated all of the image descriptions, so it should be on there now.
Id just about to post asking for info and pics on a vertical build, lo and behold @blivey posted more info with pictures than I could ask for. Great job on the pictoral build, you made it easy for my slow ... to at least attempt this build. Thanks!

On the wicking, is that a full thickness of KGD with the skin on both sides? Just cut to the size you showed, wet down and stuck to the coil? How well would 28g work as that's all I have?

Triple twist the 28g, the cotton is KGD with the top sheet pulled off. I used the this first sheet (the thin first layer) to cover the juice inlet holes. Then used the rest (the leftover thick piece) to wrap the coil. I used a needle to pack cotton between the coil wrapping and the squares covering the holes then twisted a small snake to cover the top.
