In other news, Vapor Shark clones and Flask clones have disapeared due to a design patent by Vapor Shark. I'm not looking forward to patent wars.
I've often wondered how patent copyrights worked on a global scale. Is it a prosecutable offense, or would the offender subside production out of some kind of mutual respect? Perhaps threat? It's hard for me to wrap my head around such global economics.

The lack of temperature control feature on the Subox was a serious criticism. Really? IMO, I'd just like manufacturers to work on delivering a 50w device that was safe to charge and didn't autofire first. How about that?

You'll always find people who criticize the lack of a certain feature in new devices. I'm pretty sure some reviewers expect every new mod to have TC. And then they expect the TC in a $40 mod to work as accurate as in the SX Mini M.

EDIT:
Here's a longer review. 53min.

Don't take my word for it because I'm not in the professional field to know and there's a lot of opinions. It's uneven. The US takes the view that if a product has a US market then US laws apply. So you can be legal in your country, but extradicted to the US and charged for breaking US law. A corporation would face fines of peenies on the dollar, a private person could face criminal charges. Enter the TPP and you've got "corporate sovereignty". Trolling is another issue. The TPP sets up international "tribunals" that can sue governments.

There's been a lot of developmnt on forums like these and very few protections. Patents are individual so they don't cover community development or message boards as prior art. That leaves vaping kinda wide open to whoever files first. Anyone have a patent on using a box yet? 11 companies are charged for using the 510 connection. Can you imagine the lack of progress if everyone had to use a different connection system? I guess everyone has to develop their own temperature control system. I heard (did not check out) that Innokin's will only work with their atty's.

I'm just a casual observer of this stuff and it's one of those things that affects us all constatly. The TPP agreement turns things upside down. Wikipedia is one place to read more.

I've seen the price of the black subtanks coming and they aren't cheap. They make this kit sound like a steal. Looks like Kanger is releasing nickle 0.15 coils for them too. Will there be a later release of the Subox with temp. control? Probably. But it's not goinng to devalue this kit. Kanger knows this market.

i'm still holding out on the TC stuff, but if kanger did make an affordable TC mod i might give it a shot
but i am still thinking about an all black IPV4 as a possibility

I almost got an IPV 4 yesterday but the site I went to was sold out. I'm on the fence about TC but when the deal is right I'm sure I'll end up with one. My ability to avoid new tech can only hold out so long.

Wow. It's slowed down in here. I spent too much time reading about temperature control (I haven't been paying attention to it). Still seems gimmicky to me or not quite ready for prime time. There's a couple mods coming that will read all sorts of wire. One of them just allows a user to adjust after a vape to their "best taste". The Innokin one sounds like it allows kanathal in addition to nickle. Not exactlly all wires and it requires special atty's in addition to wires. The joyetech one is propietary and no one knows for sure yet - well, maybe since I didn't check that thread.

It appears that the main push for temperature control is an attempt to deliver a standardized vape and satisfy FDA concerns about open systems. Basically what temps are ingredients safe to vaporize at. Right now, everything is vaped at all sorts of temperatures and there's no way to monitor any kind of a feedback system. Temp. control is a way to say this is safe at this temp. and that is safe at that temp. Basically, ordering tc now is taking a hit for science and the community as they figure it out. But then I wasn't impressed with HD either. Wait a week and I could change my mind.

I'd take the claim of being able to use temperature control with kanthal with a healthy dose of skepticism. The reason nickel and titanium work as well as they do is because of a greater and more predictable variance in resistance relative to temperature. Anytime kanthal is claimed, it means that they've beaten evolv and yihi. It could be, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
