What Watts are you set at when you Hear the Buzz? Does the Buzz pitch stay the same if you Change Watts.
Like I said before, I would Definitely contact your Retailer and go on record that you might have a Problem.

I am currently using the .5 stock rebuildable RBA. I hear it from 7up to 35 (didn't try higher).
I have also rewicked it to hear it without the juice and the tone is still there when dry burning.
I just got a response from MBV.
There is a humming noise associated with either power being delivered to the chip or the sound of the coil reverberating, and this is normal with this device.

Good deal on contacting MBV. Always best to go on Record that some issue Occurred straight out of the Box when you get a piece of Hardware.
As to the Sound being Normal? I would say this is more of a canned CSR Response.
Because I haven't heard of many People saying that they can hear a Hum with this unit. And I have reads Post after Post about the K-Box Mini.
Just a suggestion I think would be helpful, if people are having issues with their Subox, post up which color they received so we can see if certain issues are reoccurring in the same editions.
You may hear the "step down" when you're vaping .5 ohms at 7W. That's because the battery has to deliver a voltage that is lower than it's current charge. It does it by turning the voltage on and off very quickly, which can make a humming sound. However, once you get above the charge level of the battery (~30W @ .5 ohms) the sound should go away. A quick test would be to put in the 1.5 ohm stock coil and fire it at > 11W. At that level there should be no sound. The explanation made by the vendor is not correct and is not normal. (the coil reverberating? Really?) If it still hums with a 1.5 ohm coil, I'd return it.

What you have said sounds very logical!! The turning on and off at a very quick rate might very well be what I am hearing. Granted I am very sensitive to high tones so I might be hearing something that others cant... Curse these puppy dog ears!!!

On a sidenote (while I have the herds attention). How long should it take to charge the battery? My other, non removable, battery units usually takes around 4 hours to charge 2200 mAh. This is a 2500 and I have been able to go from 1 bar to nearly full in less than 40 minutes... I think I might have a bad battery.
Most of us take out the battery and use a separate charger so you may not get a lot of feedback on this question.

I usually take my batteries to charge when possible, although I have charged the battery while it was in the Kbox mini just to see how it performed. The charging time will depend on a few variables, but the time I tried it, it did the same thing as yours. It went from 2 bars to all bars within an hour, then all bars stayed on. I think this is typical, as the first part of the charge cycle moves quickly and getting it to full charge takes a lot longer. One odd thing I experienced was that the screen is suppose to go off when fully charged, even though I let it charge all day. I took the battery out, put it in a Nitecore charger and it showed it was at 4.18V, just barely below a "full" charge of 4.2V.

I think my shinitis just broke.
This has everything to do with the control board's programmed charge rate. Every device is different. I like to keep my 18650 batts charging .75-1.0 amps for long batt life. Some peeps feel that .5 amps charge rate extends batt life even further but I'm not willing to wait that long for my batts to charge. What the heck, if I have to buy a new 18650 every 6 months no big deal. I'm not sure what charge rate the subox has but it must pretty high to charge that fast.
I thought it was a 1amp charge rate. May very well be mistaken. Still have a little brain fog. I will see what I can dig up.

Other note: A lot of vendors are sold out (excluding Chinese) with those in stock selling for $63-$79. Anyone find decent deals lately?
I think the charge rate is directly related to the power source you use to power the USB cable. PCs and laptops supply .5 amp on USB ports and most of the AC adapters are 1.0 amp.

That's true too. Your charge rate can be "limited" by your wall wart or computer usb but even if you have a wall wart that can can put out more current (milliamps)than your control board needs your control board will limit the charge current to what its programmed to. That's why I use 750ma (.75 amp) wall warts so the control board can't charge my batts faster than I want it too. Basically I'm controlling the charge rate. Some of my mods will charge at 1.5 amps if I let them but I don't. I'm willing to wait a little longer for my batts to charge in trade for longer lifespan. So far I have not had to replace any 18650 batts in my regulated mods using walls warts after 18 months. I have 6 of them that I rotate so that could be part of it.
