Glad I could make your banana dance. I love being a part of something great. We are almost 100 pages in.But thanks to you and this thread I got it way before everyone else for 54 bucks shipped.![]()
The first gen STMini is like this as well. Not sure the rba will be able to be quite as airy as the occ coils just because of the way it is set up. I would recommend a vertical build to maximize the airflow that is there. I have done this on the original and it helps a little. To be honest the air flow on the rba is horrible imo.. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.. It wickes just fine and the flavor is good but a way tighter draw than the stock coils..
Has anyone else noticed that? This is my first sub tank and not sure if its always been this way..

Thanks.. I think I will just use the stock coils and ditch the rba.. I picked this kit up for a work device anyway... Have a few drippers and rta's for home..The first gen STMini is like this as well. Not sure the rba will be able to be quite as airy as the occ coils just because of the way it is set up. Whatever floats your boat. Just hang on to the rba for those days that your coils konk out.Thanks.. I think I will just use the stock coils and ditch the rba.. I picked this kit up for a work device anyway... Have a few drippers and rta's for home..
That was one thing I noticed after building mine for the first time today. Even with a vert build. Thought maybe I wrapped it too tight or something. I agree, it is a good stop gap until the new box of .5's arrive, though. The first gen STMini is like this as well. Interestingly enough, my build is producing quite a bit of flavor and vapor at much lower wattage levels. Dropped from 32.5 with the OCC's down to 22.5.I only wicked the original RBA (V1) once using the supplied coil with just ok results.
I just built a .66 4/5 coil with 26ga A1 and stuffed it with KGD on the Subox RBA.
I spent a bit more time combing it & trimming/shaping it.
I chain vaped it at 35W until I got dizzy. It took 40W well but started tasting burny at 43W.
I don't know how much of the difference was wicking but the V2 (Subox RBA) is performing much better.
It has plenty of flavor slipstreaming it at 29W and I think that's about where I like it best.
It's sucking down the juice! It's almost down to the wick holes at about an hour.
They both have less airflow than the OCC coils but they'll make for good vapocalypse gear.![]()
The specs call for 20A betteries. I think your AW batteries would suffice. This thread just keeps going and mostly good reviews. I'm tempted to go ahead and order one up.
Hmmm, can I use my AW 18650 2200 mAh 20A's or would VTC4's be a better choice?

Identical wrap, 26g Kanthal, vertical configuration as close to air hole possible. I think the built in ohm meter on my mod must be off a bit. I see .5 on the mod and .6 on my dvom.It was still hot and spitty at 29 so I dropped it down to 25 and it seems less ...... off now.
It's making plenty of flavor and vapor there and is much more civilized
26ga A1 kanthal 4/5 3mm coil set about half above/half below screw level with a ton of KGD.
What did you use?
I like the .5 OCCS at about 25W.
I would have taken it at $82; I got my black one for $79 at a local shop. I'm all for supporting local shops, but I won't support gouging. I would have paid up to MSRP. I think most people don't really know what these things are supposed to cost so the local shops take advantage. Which will, in the long run, only hasten their demise. It's just bad business, IMHO -and seemingly all too common in the vape industry. My local shop has it for $82. Not completely outrageous.
