Ahh, gotcha. Basically, with TC I can run the cotton dry without it burning. So when the vape starts to get weaker or stops altogether, just fill it back up! But totally agree on view window.

Start at 15 or 20 watts. And then keep ratcheting up the wattage until the vape tastes a little burnt. Then ratchet it down and you're good to go.
I always recommend people start low and slowly work your way up to find your happy place. So maybe start at 12 watts which will probably be too low, and just go up to find your spot. With the 1.2 I usually vape around 15 watts, but everyone is different.
You'll be a master at building your own coils in no time on the Subtank, and you'll be saving tons of dough doing it too (I started rebuilding back in the Protank days, and since then moved onto to Kayfuns, Foggers, Orchids, Buddhas, and most recently my new Subtank Mini and Goblin Mini). You've probably already heard the deck on the Subtank is a breeze to build on...probably the easiest of any RTA.
You'll be fine w/28g (although I expect you'll be experimenting with various gauges later). The first build on my Subtank Mini which I received a few days ago is 28g @ 3mm...for me it works great.
By the way, not sure which cotton you purchased but I bought this bag of Japanese cotton (Puff brand) around July of last year and it is primo. I still have plenty to last me through next year even after sharing some with fellow vapers:

I have that exact brand and size cotton on order through ebay. The stuff I have coming soon is cheaper. That stuff is coming from China so could be a while. Thanks for the input. Got that cotton for $6 shipped.

I'm not sure. It doesn't say it's an add on item. I tried a sampler of Japanese cotton from Amazon, which included these. In the end, I preferred the authentic KGD the best. It costs a little more, but it's going to last me for at least a year, which makes the price difference inconsequential. Now if I could only get the same type of deal on juice.
I love mine and am anxiously awaiting the kbox mini in purple.. Just heard they won't send it till around the first of August...sigh
I thought pink and purple where nano colors? If they're releasing the mini in pink and purple are they going to offer the nano in black and white?
On Amazon, the seller can often change because of the popularity of this cotton and so many vendors selling it. As of the time of this post, it is $5.94 with free shipping (as @DCBD mentioned).

If you look at the bottom of the description that is to the right of the picture of the bag of cotton, there is a link that says "52 new from $3.96" (as of this moment). Click on the link and there are several options priced with free shipping that are not part of Amazon's add on program. I think most ship from Japan, though, so you'll probably wait a few weeks for the cotton. That's what I did when I ordered a few months ago. I don't think the order was "fulfilled by Amazon" at the time.

Got it, learn something new every day. Grabbed a bag and a spool of 28g kanthal, now my RBA will be fed for life. I need better tools and a good ohm meter, any suggestions?
Yeah it's no worry guys, $6 for great cotton, I'll have to wait no matter where I order it. July 16-31, no big deal I have plenty and some occs til then.
