No, not sure at all. These 0.5 and 1.2 organic, vertical japanese stuff or whatever. They don't seem to last more then two tanks and then, dead!
When using the 1.2 in the subtank-mini, I have to vape around 13W, 4.1V in order for them not to blow.

The old 1.5 coils were far more reliable, lasted longer.

anybody else?

Yeah , i agree......had given up on kanger, did the pro tank thing, Geni tank etc, went thru many many coils .........picked up a couple nanos.....eh...then a Subtank plus and thought they finally nailed it.As Ive done before, bought many coils in multiple resistance .......not impressed, the RBA is OK but id rather use my Smok VCT pro or a itaste ...or even a cartotank......looking forward to the new wave of RTAs with large build decks , untill then ill just drip...........

Never tried the new ones, still using my original subtank mini coils, I just rebuild them, it's really easy...

The biggest problem with kanger coils is they put way way too much cotton in them, so much it restricts juiceflow and causes them to burn out early, after rebuilding, 6-7 wraps of 26g 7/64 I can fire the coils up to 30w without a dry hit and they last me about a week then I just have to rewick them...

I've had great luck with them, personally. They're lasting me a couple of weeks. My Ego One coils are horrible. I burn them in no time, even the new CLR coils. I use the .5 Kanger coils and I do prime them well and let them soak in juice a long time before I start, and I do start at low watts and work my way up without chain vaping, giving it time to get wicking properly. Are you sure you aren't getting counterfeit coils? I ordered my Subtank Nano clone from Fasttech for $13 and that thing came in a Kangor box that looked just as real as any Kanger products you'd see in a store. I would not be surprised if there are knockoff coils posing as authentic Kanger products. I'm only on my second vertical Kanger coil though and have noticed these are showing higher than the .5 ohms they are supposed to be showing. They're over .6 ohms. Maybe I have counterfeit coils. Who knows? They're working great though, unlike these Ego One coils that seem to burn up in no time no matter what I do. I prime. I've tried the "pin trick." I let them sit in juice for a long time before I use them. I start them on a variable wattage device at lower watts and make sure they are wicking well before I put them on my freshly charged Ego One, and they still burn up in no time. I like my Subtank Nano on the Ego One, except for the higher ohms which produces lower watts and a less satisfying vape. I prefer running those coils at around 36 watts, which fries Ego One coils quick. If I get an Ego One coil that lasts more than a day or two I feel lucky. So many of them give me burnt hits before I even get one good long pull from them. I just burned one a minute ago. I primed it like crazy, poked a stick pin through it like people recommend, started it on a mech mod with a nearly spent battery, let it rest between vapes and only took short vapes every once in a while the last several hours, put it on the Ego One and took only a small pull or two hours ago and let it wick some more and just now took a hit and got that wonderful burnt T-shirt taste. I hate this thing. The old Ego One coils were better than these rip off pieces off garbage. This thing is unusable.

The older style Kanger dual coil heads for the Protank 3 and Aerotanks work great. They have silica wicks and can be dry burned .... Very long lasting

And cheap: $5.31 for a 5-pack (1.5 ohm)

https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...entic-dual-coil-unit-for-kanger-clearomizer-5

Exactly!! agree. I want the old style. 1.5 for the subtank-mini ( not this organic cotton lark)

Thanks for the tip! I just ordered some of the old coils for my sub-mini, the ones with a hole in the middle ( when looking down into it) great!!

It couls also be a selling-trick you know, the new ones burn out in no time, forcing you to buy new ones all the time. Business!!
Only the new coils in this case are impossible to use for mouth-lung hits, not even the new 1.2 works.

Seems like lots of people are posting about Kanger coils these days. I had the same problems, and then I switched to the RBA, which does solve the burning problems. When I had the Ego One, no matter what I did, the thing would collect condensed juice and then bleed out through the air flow holes. Tried the CLR coils with lots of different wicking builds, same result, no way I could just toss the thing in my pocket at work--I'd have a wet spot on my pants! In any event, I'm glad the Kanger coils are working for you.

Are we talking 'Authentic' or cloned Kanger heads?
I've never had an Authentic Kanger Subtank coil burn out on me and I've been through a pack of both the 1.2ohm and 0.5ohm. I was actually quite impressed with the amount of juice I was putting through before a coil change was necessarily. 30-40mls on average, or about a week's vaping for me.
The only problem I encountered was with higher VG juices not wicking as well. Anything over 70 VG would result in occasional dry hits.
I do prime the coils tho when they are first installed, starting at a lower wattage and working up to my desired wattage in the first 12-15 puffs.

Hope this helps.
Vape onnn...

Curse you Kanger. I was loving my subtank mini with the 1.2 ohm horizontal heads getting atleast 1 1/2 - 2 weeks from them and then my boss told me they will no longer be making them... Why Kanger why?! The 1.2 horizontals allowed for great vape and a slightly extended battery life due to lower amp draw and now I'm forced to either use the .5 vertical or the ridiculously tight airflow 1.2 ohm verticals.

Needless to say I purchased all the 1.2 horizontal coils we had left in stock.
And just when i thought i had finally found a tank I could recommend.

Hi MaxwellPink,

It's easy and as FltSimulation said makes them very long lasting. Youtube is the place to go to see. Here is one that I quickly found on cleaning and dry-burning the Protank 3......dry-burn at 10 min. Good luck

Thanks.

I'm assuming that's the older protank? The dual coils I use have the tall chimney that's a b... to remove without snapping the coil, thus making the removal of the wicks for a dry burn next to impossible. That's why I asked. Was hoping flt simulation knew of a way to dry burn with the wicks still intact. :)

Here is a video showing the old and new style. Silica wicks are typically left-in-place when dry-burning - cotton wicks would burn and be ruined if left in, but the silica wicks are not harmed. This video shows a problem with "chimney snapping" when trying to remove chimney. I just started using the newer style this year and have not yet had that problem.

Coolness. I always thought the silica wicks were less prone to burning, which is why I'm preferring them. Just wasn't sure about them, and the other parts of the coil, in regards to enclosed dry burning. In this one he removes the silicone cap. Another I watched last night the guy kept everything intact but blew air through the afc while dry burning. I guess I'll give both a try.
