Kanger IPOW 2 VW 1300mah 3-15W
$29.95

Introducing the NEW Kanger IPOW 2 Variable Wattage eGo.

Kanger has taken a slightly different approach to what is essentially an eGo Variable battery. It has a twist dial at the base but instead of trying to decipher which wattage setting you are at by reading 'markings' that can be hard to read or rub off you have a bright easy-to-read LCD screen that tells you exactly where you are at. It goes from 3.0 to 15.0W in .5W increments.

Features:
  • 1300mah
  • Rubberized painted finish
  • 3.0 to 15.0 wattage variable in .5 increments
  • OLED LCD Screen that also shows remaining battery charge & resistance
  • 5 Button Press lock off and turn on
  • 10 second atomizer protection
  • Dimensions: Height 109.5mm; Diameter 18.5mm
  • Coil resistance is 1.0ohm or higher
  • Jumbo Heat Disipation slots on side.
  • Comes with charging cable (micro USB to USB)

I was thinking about getting the 1600mah version, but I'm saving for an Atlantis setup; I always forget what the Aspire battery is called. The IPOW has good reviews.

If you are going for an Atlantis... get something with at least 40w of output... it seems everyone is vaping it from at the least of 25w and a lot more in the 30w-35w range... The coils for these require the mod support around 0.5Ω ... the IPOW only goes down to a 1.0Ω coil.

If you are considering even the Kanger Subtank... look for something that can output in the 20w-30w range... I vape mine at around 25w personally. The coils for these come in both a 0.5Ω and a 1.2Ω coil... but still require more power than the IPOW can provide for best taste/vapor.

The IPOW though would be great for the Aerotanks and/or Nautilus tanks and probably use the 1.5-1.8Ω coils so your battery will last longer.

rdsok, I was looking at the Aspire CF mod to use with the Atlantis. Aspire just announced they're making all future Atlantis tanks with stainless steel. The bell and housing are made of brass and nickel; Aspire says it's safe, but was misrepresented as all stainless. I'm going to wait for the production of the all stainless tanks. It's so difficult to decide; istick has a 40 or 50W version being released. Do you like your subtank?

I do really like my Subtank... and I'm surprised that Gotvapes doesn't have then ... yet... ( <- Danno hope you're getting some soon )

I don't have any problem with nickel plated brass either... whomever brought that up as being a possible health issue is simply trying to stir up an issue where none exists with the exception of the small percentage of people that have a nickel sensitivity... of course for them it is a real issue. My only issue with this subject was Aspire saying they were all stainless to begin with... I do have an issue with misleading or dishonest information.

There is still an issue with the Aspire heads that I am concerned with... their use of a compressed "cake" of loose silica isn't something I feel is very safe and could potentially lead to someone developing silicosis from the loosened silica fibers. Of course, I use standard silica wicks which could also have that possibility but I feel the compressed silica it's a much larger threat. I suspect we'll also see Aspire move over to organic cotton like Kanger did on the Subtank coil heads.

I'm sort of meh about the Aspire CF and any other mech mod really... the newer regulated mods remove any need ( other than looks or possibly reliability ) for a mech if you ask me...

The new up and coming iSticks ( one at 30w and one at 50w ) will be interesting to see... first I want to see if they finally have the output set to RMS if they are still using PWM or pure DC like the DNA and DNA clones have.

I know... I saw that "pop up" the day or two after I posted... They are releasing their Subtank Mini ( 22mm ) and Nano ( 18mm ) versions at the end of the month... hopefully you knew it already but just in case... a quick mention is in order.

My IPOW arrived today, and I've had a little bit of time to vape with it. So far, so good!

I've gotten used to large mods (18650/26650), so the first thing I noticed was the weight. This thing is very, very light. I've got a Delta 16 on it; the black finishes on both come very close to a perfect match and look great (the tank is slightly smaller than the battery, but only by a mm or two). I'm running at 11W, and the output is pretty much the same as running 11W on any of my other mods (I don't have any fancy metering equipment, so that's as scientific as I can get on the output).

Between the IPOW and my eGrip, I've gotten spoiled by the knob-style adjustments. The eGrip's knob is a little more satisying as it gives a nice click with each step in wattage, but the IPOW knob feels solid and is still a lot easier than fiddling with buttons (or worse, as almost all of my big battery mods are "gravity sensing").

The fire button is located well, and has a very satisfying click to it. There's a tiny amount of play to it, but the shield design makes it a nice fit, so there's no side to side wobble.

The only real negative for me is that it won't act as a pass-through (which explains why the included USB cable is so short). Then again, since the USB port is placed very close to the fire button, it would probably be a bit awkward, anyway.

Overall, I'm pleased with it and would recommend to anyone looking for a mod that's more portable than an 18650 but still has enough power for a decent amount of vaping at good wattage.
