you do know what the word "now" means right? if you read my statement then you know that i was talking about now not some time earlier. little sensitive aren't we? the coils are not NOW compatible with older tanks- that was my point to avoid any confusion. that isn't argumentative it is a fact.

Yes Peter, I do know the meaning of now. It is just a misdirection when you said you hate to argue with a post that was entirely correct. I gues you didn't read my entire post where I said you were correct that the coils as they are now (after the 3rd iteration) were indeed not backward compatible. I guess it was your choice of words that you were arguing with the then correct past that seemed awkward.

Can we get back on track with this thread? What battery is everyone running the sub tank one. Santa is being nice to me but he used the usps and they can't deliver until Saturday. I am looking into getting a new battery was hoping the mvp3 would do the job.

Pretty sure the MVP3 isn't out yet. They did release a 20w version recently, but it seems pretty underwhelming. Also the 20w appears to have a 1 ohm minimum resistance, so no good with .5 ohm coils on this.

I should have said I am waiting for the mpv3 to come out. Rumor has it that news of it's release will be around new years.

Is anyone using this tank with the 1.2ohm coil as a normal clearomizer on a regular battery? What strength nicotine are you using?

This in not totally what your looking for but kinda close. I am using the 1.2 because I haven't bought my better battery yet. I do run it on a istick at 20 watts. I have also ran it on my mpv at 11 watts. I cut my nicotine in half. At full strength it was too hard for me to handle.

Did my first ever newbie build on mine today, running it on an ipv mini. Never knew what I was missing with this whole RTA thing. The stock 0.5 coil was hitting pretty good, lots of vapor but got pretty warm for me around 28 watts. Took the stock dual coils off that came on the RBA because they were reading at 0.3 on the ipv mini so it wouldn't fire, and started wrapping the 28g kanthal on my 5/64th in drill bit. Took me 4 tries, but finally got a good coil built. Checked it and it read 0.78. Added my cotton, soaked it, and fire tested and got vapor. Re-assembled everything and took the first hit - was waaaaay more vapor than the stock 0.5 coil with half the drag. Was firing it at 22 watts, too perfect to try other wattages. Just wish I'd done this coil building before I bought all these nautilus tanks (3 mini and 2 regular).

I picked up the subtank today and tossed in the 1.2ohm coil and my adv juice at 8 nic second largest airholes and works like a champ.

I am pleased with my new purchase and look forward to building the RBA deck and compare it to my KFL.

Slight whistle, but no bad. Plus a nice milk stout homebrew to enjoy the vape.

Well if anybody was wondering, the glass tank will shatter from a drop to the floor. Was rinsing it off in the sink, pulled the glass tank off, and wet hands lost it.

At least it looks like smokecityca has replacement glass in stock.

Also, finally killed the 1st head (1.1 ohm) earlier today. Had started losing a bit of flavor, but was still pretty good up until a wicked dry hit this afternoon. Must have gotten 25ml or so out of it. Not bad at all IMO.

Not happy with the Sub-Tank -----

I tried my new Sub Tank today using the .5 ohm coil. Vape was just too warm for me so I could not enjoy it. I then switched to the 1.2 ohm coil. Vapor was not quite as warm but to me, had no flavor. I tried at various watt settings but was still not able to enjoy the experience. I have not tried building my own coil and trying that way because it only takes 4.5 ml of juice and my Kay fun does that. The lowest nicotine level juice I had was 8mg so I mixed half that and half 0 mg, which should have brought the total nic strength to 4mg. Guess this thing will just go back in the box. I still love my Nautilus tank.

Put it in the for sale section and someone will grab it right up if you don't over price it. That will solve your problem and make another vaper very happy. Winning:toast:

It's a cheap azz tank to begin with, so there's real financial benefit to R1 to sell or not... so why sell. If I were him I think I would get more pleasure from putting it back in the box and just giving it the finger every time I walked by it. Now that would be winning :toast:

What I do is pay it forward and give my old gear to a new vapor. Putting it in a box and giving it the finger does no good for anyone. What a cheap azz tank to you is someone else favorite tank. Why not help get someone else off cigs? just my :2c:

The meaning of cheap azz tank is that's it's not expensive. If you've seen any of my posts and threads I've started about the Subtank you'd know I like this tank. But everyone's different and I know that a tank I like is not going to be liked by everyone. And yeah, I have no problem giving the finger to things and people I don't like. Sometimes it brings me real satisfaction, so I'd say that does some good for at least one person. :toast:

None local to me yet but I'm starting to see Kanger branded RBA coils for the lazy (like possibly myself) who don't/can't roll their own -
Kangertech Subtank RBA DIY OCC Coils 20pcs

I kinda figured they would get in on this end of the business along with this tank. Ships with the organic cotton as well so it's a convenient purchase, if you were buying cotton anyway.

I like that the OCC coils are big enough that someone with patience could rebuild them. They come apart easy.

Things I don't like-
Drip tip feels cheap, the bore is too big for that steel, wall too thin, gets hot...it's been tossed into the parts box.

So far so good. First tank got better as it went along, taste-wise. :vapor:

Nice find on the prebuilt coils, I wouldn't mind keeping those on the side for when I'm feeling lazy ;)

Already rebuilt the OCC head, came out at .6 ohm on the build but hit even harder than the stock .5 ohm head.
