Today I received my Leo's from Vapor Junction. (Who I would recommend to anyone) I have 2 batteries, 4 atomizers and 10 empty carts.
I am using Gourmet Vapor %60pg/%40vg juice.
I have been vaping since 12/25/2010 and tobacco free since 1/11/11. This is the first device that I have purchased. My other device is a SmokeTip that was gifted to me.
Using an atty is new to me.
Using VG is new to me.
Using e-juice is new to me.
Using 18mg Nic is new to me (have only used 16 and lower)
Using a dripping method is new to me.
Using a manual battery is new to me.
Using a pen-style mouthpiece is new to me.
Looks. I am loving the style. I wanted a unit that didn't look like a cigarette and this is stylish, anything BUT cigarette-looking. It's glossy without being garish, smooth to the touch without being slippery and has options for extra bling if that is your thing. I like going out in public with this, it attracts the right kind of attention, if that makes sense. It's bigger than the SmokeTip by far, but not in a bad way. I like that it doesn't glow at the tip and has a pretty blue or other crystal looking bottom and i plan on getting a bunch of different ones.
Feel. Hmm, it's solid which is comforting, but heavier than I am used to. I can't hold it in my mouth. I KNOW i am Vaping when I pull this baby out which is exactly the change I wanted to make. There is nothing cigarettish about the feel. So it's a plus, and a good change, but it's a change and is going to take some getting used to.
TH. I wanted to move away from %100 pg juice since i tend to get headaches and a sore throat with it, but I love the TH and didn't want to lose that. I wasn't sure if the Leo could deliver with so much vg concentration.
~ this 60/40 delivers a satisfying th without the harshness. It's very smooth and seems to depend somewhat on the flavor of the e-juice. I've tried 8 different flavors and they all deliver. The more i use the Leo, the more I am appreciating the th without the sore throat.
Battery. I love the battery already. My SmokeTip is a standard Kr8-1 which lasts about 2-3 hours before it needs to be recharged.
~I've been vaping my Leo since 10:30am and it's still going strong @ 8:30pm. I am curious to see just how long these batteries will go without a charge. BTW, the battery is sealed.
Dripping. Yeah I did it! It's pretty easy with this big wide mouth. I put in a few drops and gave it a go. I will be using the carts, I prefer those, but it's nice to know that if I want to change up and do a few drips, I can do it so easily and with confidence.
Manual switch. Now this one is a real change for me. Half the time I am still sucking without hitting the button. Not sure if I am a fan. My little automatic worked with ease and without flaw. The draw seems to be pretty much the same, maybe even a little stronger on the automatic. I am worried about the manual switch getting hit and going off, I never had to think about that with the automatic. I have read here that the automatic goes off with wind or vibrations or whatever, but I never found that to be true. So the button worries me and i think it would have been nice to have these Leo covers (which I like) cover the manual switch for traveling or storage. But everything is too new to compare.
Atty. So different! I now know what it means to have a heated atty. It actually helps me pace myself which I didn't do so well when I first started vaping with the SmokeTips. I've used three of them. Two seem to work the same, but the third one seems weaker, harder to draw, less vapor, less th. I switched out the juice cart to a light, clear juice and it seemed to help, but still not on par with the other two. I tried the dark juice on the two atty's that work better, and they still worked better with the dark juice. It's not that this third one doesn't work, if I didn't have the other two to compare it to, I would have thought it was fine. I think I am going to try to clean out this weaker one tonight and see if that makes a difference. And i will be keeping an eye on this one since i have such a great warranty with Vapor Junction. If Boge comes out with a two piece, it's something I will definitely check out. I'm not seeing the advantage of having the extra piece...but what do I know, it may just be the reason that the Vape is so hypnotically smooth.
Flavors. All new to me and strangely enough, i don't know if I am liking it. I highly doubt that it's Gourmet Vapors selection, they have a tremendous reputation and loyal following. It's just that you can taste every little nuance with these Leo's. There are some very sharp notes that seem to linger on my tongue. Maybe I need to steep or maybe it's the switch to vg or maybe with my newly restored taste buds, or I simply don't like what I thought I liked. But there is no doubt that if you like flavor, you will love the Leo. You can taste EVERYTHING in spades.
Vapor. Vapor is big and satisfying. I am wondering if I will be able to stealth vape when I am out with this? It's not a fog but it's definitely a cloud, yet it seems to dissapate quickly which i like. I haven't experimented nearly enough to know how different bases and flavors and nic levels will effect the vapor, but I am looking forward to finding out
Accessories. None to date, but i plan on getting the hard case and modifying it to carry both batteries and carts (Thanks Travis). I will also be picking up a flat bottom, a lanyard, a compass and other accessories as they come to market since I am more than happy with my Leo and plan on sticking with it for a good long time.
Omg, never get a new pv and new e-juices on the same day! I am buzz-zz-zz-ing. Sorry for such a long post, I can only say in my defense that I am psyched ... and tripp'n on Nicotine at the moment.
So...as a total noob, I am completely happy-content-satisfied-THRILLED with my new Leo. I am liking it more and more as the time goes by. My thanks to everyone on this subforum and all the vets that helped me narrow things down and lead me to my Leo.
