Hi all,
First post here and pleading for a bit of help. Every time I change my coil I seem to burn it and it's winding me up.

Initially I used the Endura T22 standard shop-bought build so used the coil which came with that. Despite looking up online and chatting to the guys in a local vape shop every time I primed the coil it seemed to make no difference and instantly burned.

Then was not able to get anymore coils for that build so bought a new tank - the Aspire K3 with the Nautilis coil. The guy in the store I bought it primed it and it was great until it started tasting like burnt paper so I bought new coils. Primed (put juice in each of the small holes around the coil and was advised to drop a couple of drops into the top) then left it 10 mins or so before I vaped. Still tasted burned. Tried 2 coils and feeling like I want to throw my vape out the window.

I'm still using the Endura T22 mod with the Aspire K3 clearomiser.
The two juices I'm having issues with are Cuttwoods Sugar Drizzle at sixty pg forty vg. Sorry my keyboard is broken so can't get to the numbers lol. I'm also using Hangsen Spearmint at seventy pg thirty vg. Both are nicotine free.

Any help would be amazing. Thanks in advance!

Can't really help ya on rebuildables, but you're gonna go through alot of premade coils that's just a normal thing (specially if you vape alot which you seem to) Also you're using high vg in a nautilus tank which it's coils aren't made for high vg and will cut the lifespan of these coils very short. If you really can't taste any juice the problem is most likely you unfortunately i've had the original nautilus and NOTHING gave me the taste that thing did (which was very good for a starting vape tbh).

Thanks so much for the response. I use 70/30 pg vg, what would you recommend in that setup please?

At 70pg your coils should be wicking just fine.

What ohms are the coils you are using and what is the wattage you are using?

Hi Marc.
My wattage is not changeable. The coil is 1.6 ohms. I'm still learning all this so took my vape into the store with me and asked for a new coil to fit the aspire k3. This is what I was given.

This may be the problem. your mod may be overpowering you coil. Have you though about a coil with a lower ohm rating or picking up a VW mod.

I had 50/50 pr 60/40 vg/pg always 1.6 0hm coils will most likely not wick fast enough if you chain vape it so that could be why you're burning them (There's still alot of reasons your issue could be happening, but that's what i keep hearing/experienced). Also note if you don't drag fast enough to wick the cotton that's why it tastes burnt if cotton gets dry it burns and then you gotta swap out the coil.

Variable Wattage? That's a decent shout. Sorry to be dum but can you get different ohm ratings on a nautilis coil or is it one for all?

I've never used the Nautilis but a quick look online shows that they go down to 1.2Ω

If I had to guess I would say that the mod you are using is overpowering the coil. What mod are you using?

I'd try the nautilus 1.8 heads.

Dark or colored and especially sweet liquids tend to clog wicking material & gunk coils rapidly.
Sounds like you are thoroughly priming / fully saturating new/unused heads.
You should see bubbles rise from the wicking holes occasionally, if not most likely you have an o ring or gasket not making a good seal. This causes wicking problems.

An adjustable power output power device will allow you to start new heads at a lower power level & gradually work your way up over the first half to full tank to find your sweet spot.

If you're using overly flavored & sweetened goopy gunky liquids short head life leading to funky burnt tastes are fairly normal.

Be sure you're using authentic aspire bvc nautilus heads, there are as many knockoff/clone heads on the market as authentic.
The copycat/ clone heads are notoriously inconsistent.

Sorry you said that in your first post.

This is the manufacturers suggestion: Optimized at 14 Watts with specially designed 1.5 Ohm coils. I would try a coil with a slightly lower ohm rating, maybe a 1.2, I believe if it's overpowering the coil head the 1.8 would have the same issues. If those still burn up the mod may not be operating properly and delivering to much power to the coil.

Like Topwater Elvis mentioned, a variable wattage device would allow you to ramp up to the correct wattage.

I'll pop over to a vape store near my work tomorrow and see if they have one.

I have a T22. The kit with the Prizm tank and 1.5 coils are designed to work together as a unit. I've had nothing but good luck, using light colored liquids at 70 vg. I'm hoping to get 14 days out of current coil. Maybe you have a defective mod. How are you vaping? This is strictly a mtl device. If you go direct lung, not only will it use up your coil, it could burn your lips.
