Hi all, my name is Josh, I'm 34 yrs old from Utah. (I only have 1 wife, but we do have 6 kids.) I quit smoking 3 days ago now, yay me! I picked up a cheapy e cig from the convenience store, though I think it's a decent one (green smart living is the brand) it's getting me by until I get my order from MaddCatt Vapors. They have been EXTREMELY helpful and supportive! I am won over by their service thus far! In fact, I don't think I've ever had so much fun with a vendor. Awesome people, well, Penny at least (is who I've been dealing with) I am so excited to get the bolt deluxe kit that I can hardly stand myself!
Couple issues I am having and want to make sure I go into this with the best possible info. I was a heavy heavy smoker (2 packs a day and big big drags) and the 18 mg refill atomizers are not satisfying. I go through about 3 of them a day. I am getting 24 mg liquid and Penny suggested that maybe it's the "hit" I'm getting, which a good APV and some good 50/50 liquid will help with.
I think they are getting me squared away pretty good, but maybe some experienced vapers could give me some tips and tricks, I would really like to ensure my success with quitting tobacco.
Still, 3 days without a whiff of smoke or tar or burning ashes! I am very pleased. Especially since I spent hundreds on different "smoking cessation," products over the past few years only to go out aftera few days and buy another pack. I think this is a record!
Oh and by the way, if anyone is looking to get their first e-cig and end up at a Smoker Friendly store. I would highly recommend waiting. Their brand is absolutely AWFUL! They come in only regular and menthol, and you can tell the cartridge is empty when it begins to burn and tastes like a filter drag from an analog! The GSL I have now just seems to stop producing vapor and actually seems very refillable.
I guess that's all I have for now. Thanks all.

First of all, congratuations on deciding to try e-cigarettes in order to quit smoking. I firmly believe this is the most natural way to quit, as it provides a nicotine delivery that mimics the ingrained behavior of smoking. The satisfaction received from vaping depends a lot upon the devices and juices that you choose.

It's a good thing that you are comfortable to start out with a large battery mod like the Bolt. Most new vapors feel the need for their first devices to look and feel like cigarettes. Those mini-batteries can work satisfactory, but their inherent short battery life can cause frustration and lead to failure.

The Bolt should serve you well. You most certainly should notice a more satisfying vape from it compared to the mini's that you are currently using. I hope you ordered additional cartomizers and e-juice with your order, as the deluxe kit only provided one carto and a small bottle of juice.

I'd also recommend at least another couple of batteries for your Bolt. A vapor's creed is you can never have too many batteries. If one of the two that came with your kit fails, you are down to one battery. And you know that without a charged battery you can't vape.

You were a pretty heavy smoker, so your e-juice should contain at least 16mg nicotine or more. Be sure that you know how to properly fill a cartomizer for best results. You Tube has many videos to learn from, and there is a wealth of information here on the forums. The search function is your friend.

Good luck! :vapor:

Congratualtions and welcome. Lot of recent quitters here. This forum can be a great support system. Might try the Blu Disposable if you get in a pinch. Probably get one at Walgreens. The newer ones were the best mass market one I tried. I would recommend 24ml strength juice to start. Juice taste is subjective but the DeKang USA mix 24ml worked for me. Heard the Bolt is a good unit but don't have any experience with it. Still kind of new myself.
Might try some kanger 510 clearomizers on it if they fit. My wife says they hit closer to a real cigarette than most of our other gear. They are cheap but don't last that long. For me, I like the new Kanger T2 clearomizer or the Vivi Nova. I feel like the Nova hit is a little heavier than the T2 but I am still finding my way.
Good luck and congratluations!

Wow, awesome welcomes. Thanks everyone! I got my order squared away for the bolt deluxe kit and juices. I got the 5ml tank and they threw in a few cartos cuz they ROCK! I am so anxious, half of it cuz the mini I am using doesn't give a very good hit and half cuz I'm now waiting on a very cool item. I had to get another pack of refill atomizers to get me through the weekend. It's not a lot cheaper doing it that way, but now I think I'll get by on like $40 bucks a month or so... (plus accessories here and there :) ) Way better than the $6-800 we have been spending!

Welcome to ecf and congrats on 3 days with out a cig. It only gets easier as time goes by, for me after about day 5 I never even thought about a cigarette. Also going through 3 atomizer's which I would assume are 3 prefilled cartridges, or cartomizers a day isnt too much. Alot of companies that sell disposables claim that a cartridge is equivalent to a pack of cigarettes, however its actually more equivalent to about 6-7 cigarettes.

Ya these claim to be 2 packs. Ya right! I would be sick after 6 packs in a day. So that figure sounds more accurate. I told my wife she can have the ones I have now when she's ready... Which I hope is soon, cuz she smokes in the bedroom and it's driving me crazy! I haave watched a few online videos on refilling disposables and these would work for that for sure, it's not a bad way to start before you're 100% sure. Though I have bought 4 of the kits for $25 each (for the batteries) I never run out tho :) I haven't even been tempted to smoke for 2 days. I had a couple drags from hers 3 days ago. I'm glad I found this site and found that it's not just these mini e-cig kits.
