New member. I have a couple of questions..

My first vaping experience back in 2007 was terrible. I bought a cigalike with a bunch of pre-filled cartridges. They never really did it for me, wasn't long before I was smoking analogs again. Over the past couple of years I've seen a lot of my coworkers switch over to ecigs, but I was still skeptical. My brother in law finally convinced me to give it another try. Taking his advice, I purchased a Volcano Lavatube 2.5. And, I absolutely love it. I haven't had an analog since the day I got it.(a week ago) My problem is I live in nyc, and I haven't been able to find a shop that carries replacement cartos for the lavatubes tube tank.(I know theres one in jersey, but its a pain to get to from queens.) My question is: Are there any other 3.0 ohm 510 connection carto tanks that anyone can recommend for the lavatube? Preferably ones that Id most likely be able to get replacement cartos at my local vape shop.

Have you considered just moving to a cleartomizer type? Any particular need for the carto? I know this isn't the question you asked, but I figure it was worth asking.

I haven't given that much thought. Honestly I love the way this thing hits, and didn't want to tinker with it too much. I'd just like to be able to get cartos without having to order them online. The one vape shop I've visited seemed to only carry Innoken brand, and were hesitant to help me with my query. I'm going to visit another one this weekend, and figured if I had something in mind, it would make my experience a little better.

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely look into it. What will the difference be between the dual coil 2 Ohm that the Kanger has and the 3.0 Ohm single coil that my tubetank has, In terms of performance, taste, vapor production?

More vapor, for sure.

Being able to pop a coil in and wash a tank is a bonus, as well. You're able to switch flavors with ease, and I'm making the assumption that the overall draw will be better than a cartomizer. I haven't even hit a single more than once, and only because my coil replacements were late and I had to buy a cheap clearto at the tobacco shop.

510 cartos are generic in my experience. I usually vape Boge or Smoktech when I use a carto. The carto tanks use rubber grommets on each end to hold and seal the carto in the liquid and most any standard carto will work fine. I like stainless steel cartos for a tank. Is this what you are talking about?

I started Vaping about 5 Months ago after 38 years of Analogs... Analog free since Feb 20th! I started pretty simple with a Kanger ProTank II single coil. I used the replacement coils, (pretty cheap I might add)... for about 6 weeks, then I got curious and started rebuilding my ProTank II, I even dabbled in rebuilding my iClear30's, and Protank II mini for my wife... that lasted for about a month. Then I jumped into a EHPRO Kayfun Lite Plus V2! My vaping experience hasn't been the same since! Now I have a rebuildable arsenal of 3 Kayfun Lite Plus V2's, Tobh RBA, Trident V2 RDA, and just picked up a MAGMA RDA!!!

So in short, I'd recommend starting with a Kanger ProTank II (single coil) or a ProTank III dual coil simply because they work really well, and the replacement heads are pretty inexpensive. Eventually in time, you too will want to "tinker". For Build/wick/fill/and go... the Kayfun Lite Plus V2 is an incredible tasting and vaping atty!

That is what I'm looking for. I didn't think they would be a standard size. For some reason, I thought they would vary in length depending on what tank they were designed for. I will check out my vape store online, but Im really never home to receive deliveries, and its usually a hassle to track them down. If the cartos are all the same size, Im sure it wont be too hard to find a place that carries them. Thanks everyone for the advice, and Im definitely going to look into a kanger tank system.

The sweet spot for a 2 ohm carto is about 3.7v. For a 3 ohm carto you will end up around 4.2v. Most of us like the 2 ohm range for flavor.

There are standard cartos (which most tanks are designed for) and there are Mega cartos. A mega carto is about 20% longer and holds more juice. Since a carto tank is locked in place by the drip tip, a mega might let the tank slide back and forth, but not likely leak since the rubber grommets seal the juice inside. Still, I'd use the standard length cartos on a standard carto tank.

The flange ring on the bottom is there to keep the carto from sliding down onto the threaded end of the carto. They will leak if that happens, so you have to have a carto with a bottom flange like in the picture I posted.

I think Ill take one of the blank cartos i have to the shop with me and just try and match it up the best as possible. Its a 7ml tank, so it may need the "mega" version. Since it seems lile most ppl like the kanger tank system, I may just end up getting one them, if they carry them in this store. Again, all this advice is much appreciated!!
