Hi Guys,

This is my first post here so I just wanted to introduce myself and ask a couple of questions. I apologise now if this has already been asked many times but really appreciate your help.

I have been smoking for about the last 17 years, but have been free from analogues for about a month now.

I wanted to get off the ciggies and had read about e-cigs but never tried one, then a stall opened in my local shopping mall (UK) that sold starter packs so I thought I would give it a shot and I haven’t looked back.

I am currently using a VIP e-cig Electronic Cigarette & E Cigarette UK Shop / VIP E-CIG (16mg) which is an auto battery and cartomizer. It seems to vape quite nicely although the advertised “equivalent of 40 cigs per cart” are way off, I wouldn’t consider myself a heavy smoker (although I vape more often) and a carto will last me just under a week.

The one thing that really bugs me about my e-cig is how often it needs recharging. Almost daily. It’s not a big deal as I plug it into my PC at work but I want something that will last a bit longer and vape a bit better.

I am not totally up with all the terminology but I have tried to learn about Atomizers, Clearomizers, Cartos, Dripping etc and there is still a lot I do not understand but I have had my eye on a couple of other kits and would really appreciate your feedback as I want to start filling my own carts.

So here come the questions, firstly the two kits I have been looking at are the iTaste by Innokin iTaste VV e-cig - Cloud 9 Vaping and also the Joy ego-C Joye eGo-C Starter Kit - Cloud 9 Vaping (I do not know the difference between this and the T)

I don’t know which would be best for me so would really appreciate any recommendations.

Also, if I were to start filling my own carto’s, how often do they need replacing? Or is it the Atomizers that need replacing? (see this is where I start getting confused and worried Im getting into unknown territory)

I really appreciate any input.

Thanks,

Adam

Hi Adam
Welcome to ECF & congrats on quitting the ciggies.
Re: Atomizers & cartomizers.
The atomizer contains the wires that heat up the liquid.
Cartomizers are a hybrid product. A cartomizer is an atomizer + cartridge together in one unit. It contains both the atomizer + a wicking material that feeds the atomizer thus producing vapor.
So you do not use an atomizer WITH a cartomizer. That would be redundant.
I like cartomizers. I fill my own with ejuice I buy. A cartomizer will last me about a week.
Did I help a little?

Hi Adam and welcome to ECF. First off here's a review on the iTaste

Here's a thread on it and a link to the 510 version (can use 510 accessories on it)
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...econd-review-after-having-acouple-months.html

As for the eGo C it only fires at 3.4 volts. If you're going this route better to buy the Riva- also known as the Kgo
The VE Riva 1100 Deluxe Kit £34.95 - Deluxe Vaping Kits - Riva 1100 Kit Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid
Here's are some highly regarded UK vendors compliments of Chrissie:
ALL ABOUT E-CIGARETTES UK - E-cigarette/E-liquid Vendors List + discount codes

Here's some info on diff delivery systems:
Different delivery systems:
atomizer/ atty- an element on to which 3-4 drops of juice is dripped- used to test new juices as it's easy to clean.

cartridge/ cart- a container with sponge (filled with juice) that is used with the atty- juice drips on to atty from cart and is vaporized- outdated tank system and prone to leaks.

cartomizer/ carto- metal tube with stuffing and element.

carto+tank- a carto with a hole punched in it. Carto is than placed in a glass, metal or plastic tank which is filled with juice- juice saturates carto by way of hole in carto.

Clearomizer- a plastic or metal tank with a wick and element. Contains NO stuffing. The rebuildable Vivi Nova comes with heads (coil+ wick) that can be cheaply and easily replaced. When the head burns out simply unscrew the old head out and screw in new head- takes 10 secs. My heads are lasting about 4 weeks BUT I wash the heads every few days. I've found the Vivi Nova to give the best draw.

Hi Adam, I'm new also but wanted to tell you that I have the ego-c twist and love it! It will last me 1.5-2 days before it needs to charged, depending on what you have hooked up to it. I started with the excalibur tanks and would last me 3 days before it needed to be charged. I recently bought the Kanger T3 tank and I can turn up the volts(to find your sweet spot) on my twist but as you increase the volts it wont last as long. I also have a cig style battery and its ok but the twist kicks its but. I dont even use it anymore. Some like the carto's as they are easy to use. I dont like them, I prefer the tanks. This is my opinion and everyone is different.

The above information is pretty great! Just one thing, if you order the eGo TANK it won't be the same as a tank with a carto mentioned above. The eGo tank is plagued with leaking problems, and is considered out of date. It was a popular choice BEFORE the new stuff like the CE clearomizers and vivi's hit the market which are a vast improvement. So don't go for the eGo Tank, get a twist and a vivi or a clearomizer, you won't have to deal with a lot of juice all over :)

I started with and still use my ego twist 1000mah. I started with the Ego C type b. Bigger tank. I still use the C for testing new flavors. I also got a Clearo CE which is one of the early ones. I would recommend the bigger batteries as if your a light to moderate smoker it will last you all day. I do like that kit as it has more than one battery, and a good charger. I found early on the YOU HAVE TO HAVE A SPARE BATTERY. If you can possibly afford it try to get a VV battery. To some degree you can adjust the vapor experience. Also many of the suppliers will throw in some juice or free shipping at some level. Mine did both.
Hope this is of some help. Glad to have you aboard. Congrats on giving up the stinkies/coffin nails/cancer sticks. LOL
Do not hesitate to ask questions there is a lot of experience on here. Very big brain trust.
Welcome to ECF from across the pond.
