Thanks for all the help guys! I just placed an order for the Riva Lite Bundle, 2 boxes of boge cartomizers, and 3 drip tips. All of that plus the shipping which only came out to about 70 dollars. A lot cheaper then green smoke and white cloud! I wonder how long it will take since I live in Canada.

Anyways, I checked out some Canadian e liquid suppliers and I notice some of them have an option of PG or VG. Can anyone tell me what the difference is and which one is better? Sorry if this question has been asked before.

PG- thinner, some people think it's harsher, more throat hit
VG- thicker, smoother, less throat hit.

They recommend 80pg/20vg or 70pg/30vg at some juice suppliers. If it's too thick it clogs up cartomizers a bit faster. But the ratio is something you just have to play around with and see what works best for you. Sort of like the nicotine strength. Get a couple sample bottles in varying ratios and see which you like best.

I don't understand why everyone hates the KR808D-2 so much!

I initially bought a Green Smoke PV. It was horrendously overpriced, and a great smoking experience. I sent it back on the 30-day money back guarantee, and got my money back, and bought 6 more batteries and 50 blank cartomizers from the same Chinese supplier that green-smoke use, for roughly the same price.

I don't think I'm allowed to name the Chinese company here as they also sell pure nicotine, which is a horrendously dangerous substance and totally unsuitable to have laying around in your tackle box.

My smoke production is great. I get just under 1ml of juice into each cartomizer. The cartomizer gets hot before it gets a burnt taste, so I know when to refill it before getting a bad puff. The batteries take 3-4 hours to charge and all day to discharge.

I also smoke much less juice than other people on this forum suggest. I smoke about 1.5ml of juice on my heaviest days, and that equates to having it in my lips all day, chain vaping. I believe it is more efficient with the juice usage than some of the other types of PV.

My first cartomizer actually burnt out yesterday. It was (predictably) my "all day vape" carto that failed. I had been using it for nearly 4 months, pretty much all day every day. I do switch cartomizers sporadically to vape other flavours, especially in the middle of a chain vaping session.

So yea... I have no experience of the eGo, or the Riva, or mods, or the 510, but in my opinion the KR808d-2 aka Green Smoke e-cigarette is excellent. I have no desire to try a different PV out at this time, The 50 blank cartomizers I have bought will last me for about 10 years at the current rate of burnout, and I am totally happy with both the smoking experience, throat hit, juice efficiency, looks and the charging time.

I understand that the KR808D-2 stuff is harder to find if you're trying to decide upon a supplier, but it really is not a bad device at all!

Don't let "thickness of juice" be your deciding factor when working out how much VG/PG to use. Using pure VG as part of a smoking mix is a bad idea unless you want to make your juice really viscous. Treacle anyone?

I have my PG and VG in identical clear bottles. Turn both bottles upside-down at the same time and notice the difference in thickness. Then add drops of water from a melted ice-cube to the VG bottle, shake it up, then turn both bottles upside down at the same time again. You will see that the VG is thinner now. Keep adding water slowly until you find that you can no-longer tell the difference between PG and VG by turning the bottle upside down.

Congratulations, you have now made Aqueous Glycerine, the best companion to PG that there is. You no longer have to use less Glycerin to prevent wicking problems, and can instead tailor your blends for taste, throat hit and vapour production.

The reo-mods (minis) run around 150$, and seem to have rave reviews though I've not tried it. I wish I had read more threads here before ordering :/ or I would have gone with one of those, especially if you don't mind spending the extra money, I think a reo-mini will be my next upgrade
They're pretty good looking too!

Yes, those companies are ripping you off. Do more research at the very least. Swedish is absolutely 100% correct. Get yourself an Ego and you wont be sorry! Happy Vaping!

Hi Swedishfish. Thanks for the quick reply. An ego? Never heard of that, maybe I will check it out. I can get one for only $30 and it is better then both of the brands I listed? If thats the case then these companies are ripping me off bigtime. wow.

I still have my KR8 set up. I just dont use it anymore due to finding a superior pv which gave me a superior vaping experience. I love my Egos and keep my KR8 stuff (at least 10 bats both auto and man) around when I want to play with a conventional shaped ecig. Also I still love my KR8 Pass Through (at a true 5v)! I dont think folks hate the KR8, I just think that many experienced vapers have "graduated" to a better more powerful pv. Enjoy your KR8! :) If you are satisfied that is all that really matters! Happy Vaping!

Ok then! I guess I buy myself an eGo and see what the fuss is about! I use several KR808 batteries, and I held a multimeter to them today to check the voltages. I was very surprised to find that one of my small automatic batteries was producing 0.04 volts whilst inactive, which quite frankly scares me. Seems like a breakdown in some electrical insulation or a dodgy automatic switch. I have been using it for about 4 months.

On a side note, the batteries are reading 3.9 volts when active! One which is mostly discharged is reading 3.8 volts.

And I also use the 5v passthrough. I even managed to get it working from an ipad USB charger, which is a 10Watt supply. The passthrough doesn't operate when directly connected to it (light flashes 3 times and no vaping), but if you also connect an unpowered usb hub in-line it works a treat, and vapes even hotter!

Unfortunately, after 4 months of use it's suffering "dodgy walkman headphones" syndrome and i have to hold it at a specific angle to get an electrical connection :(

So yea.. what he said. Get an eGo, I'm going to. But don't think for a second that the KR808D-2 sucks - it's great to vape, its really "normal" looking when out and about, and good value for money if you don't fall for an overpriced brand

Don't do that! If you do purchase an ego then you'll want to see what the fuss is about with the Riva 510 being better than the ego. The Riva is 3.7 and the eGo is 3.4 Go with the Riva now and forget about the ego :D Liberty Flights has the Riva set up you want.

I'm in a similar situation as the OP. However, I haven't purchased an e-cig yet. The purchase is for my wife who currently smokes about a pack of Camel no filters/day. Instead of smoking in the house like she used to do, she's now smoking in the garage. However, with colder temperatures arriving and the ultimate goal of quitting smoking, she'll give e-cigs a try; at least she'll be able to smoke them in the house.

So I've been doing the research for her, and I've told her that I'll buy her e-cigs (in hope that she'll eventually quit); she's smoked for 30+ years.

Anyway, given this background, I'm looking for suggestions on what to buy. I don't want something overly complicated, but powerful enough to turn her away from the Camels and to e-cigs. Here's what I'm currently considering:

1) Riva 510 Lite starter kit from Liberty-Flights. $30
2) Delrin Drip Tip (Type D- 510) from Liberty-Flights X 2. (A little unsure of its purpose). $3.20
3) 15 Boge Carto Deal (510) from Crystal Clear Vaping (Crystal Clear Vaping). 1 Box? Reg or LR? Choice of Drip Tip? $20. Question? - Do these cartos contain juice?
4) I suppose I need juice. Not sure what and where to buy.
5) Anything else?

Thanks for your help!!!!!
