Hi! I am Krystyna! I have been smoking for 4 years, and I literally am getting so sick of smelling bad, and feeling bad due to smoking a pack a day! I am really interested in E-cigs but have NO CLUE where to start! I walked into 7-11 yesterday and saw the e-cig display. After I googled, and read some posts on this site, I really don't want to purchase that specific brand. I am looking at a KR808D-1, and I like the price. I can't see spending $100 right now. As far as the KR808D-1 goes, can I refill it? I really like the thought of buying some flavored vapor!

I am moving from Las Vegas to Wisconsin in 2 weeks, and I am driving with my 2 kids. I want a e-cig by that time, so I don't have to worry about pulling over every 60 miles for a smoke. My youngest already has asthma, so smoking in the car is just out of the question!

Anyway, I'd really appreciate any info I can get! Thanks for reading this!

Krystyna

Hello, and welcome to ECF! I don't use the kr808d's, but have heard it's a good ecig. That and the 510 starter kits always seem to get the vote around here as an entry level ecig. Good move on steering clear of what's for sale at a 7-11. As far as driving goes, you might want to check out the joye ego. Long battery time, and I believe that it has an extra large atty available to hold lots of juice. Someone with more knowledge on them will chime in before to long. Good luck!

Wow, your story is just like mine (except I smoked for 25 years). I saw them in the 7-11 and I didn't even know for sure what I was looking at until I googled them.

KR808 is a good PV. It's a 2 piece system: battery + cartomizer. The battery will need to be able to charge every couple of hours, so you'll need a starter kit with at LEAST 2 batteries. The cartomizer will need to be switched out for a fresh one every so often during the day too: so you'll want a bunch of those too.

The cartomizers CAN be refilled. (see now: youtube) There are several ways to do it, I think. I don't have that model, so I'll let the others clue you in there.

If you are going with the KR808, you'll want some sort of charging case too - so you can have some charged up batteries on hand to switch out.

Also: you MUST start with at LEAST 20-30 mL of various juices to try out. You'll probably do best with a variety of 18mg juices and 24mg juices and it's generally recommended to try a variety of flavors too - nobody will be able to tell you what flavors you'll like, it's impossible to know until you try it. Most people DON'T end up liking something similar to what they smoked though, FWIW. Try getting a variety of 5mL bottles.

Oh, two more things:

it's usually best to buy stuff from the list of ECF approved vendors: Forum Suppliers
and always, always check to see if they have a coupon code out (they usually do) before finalizing the purchase:

Thanks so much! I am actually looking at FreedomSmokeUSA.com (as I understand, the owner is a part of this forum as well?). I like their wide variety, and the 510 is only $50, which is nice! I will have my laptop with me when I drive, so ultimately, I could use the USB charger in the car correct? Not sure about that whole thing, charging while driving lol! I dont have a ton of $$ to spend, but what would you say are the ESSENTIALS, especially with such a long trip coming up? Do they make car chargers for these things? So many options to choose from, I feel like my brain will burst! LOL

Oooookay... so... I don't know how much PG or VG I should get? Do you use the flavors straight? Should I buy a tobacco flavor? If I got cherry, would I fill the cartrige (I guess thats the right word?) with pure Cherry flavor, and smoke? Or would I mix it with unflavored? Ahh!! I just don't know what to do anymore lol

510 is also a good one, maybe even more popular than the kr808 type. The main difference is that the standard 510 is a 3 piece system: battery + atomizer + cartridge. But they are neat because you can use them like that, OR you can use them to direct drip (dripping juice right into the atomizer without the use on carts or cartomizers) OR you can but cartomizers to use on them (like the kr808 uses).

The best thing about 510, IMO, is that if you get sick of the short battery life (due to the size, all the 'little' e-cigs only last a couple hours between charges) you can upgrade to an eGo battery (lasts about 10 hours per charge) and all your 510 parts will fit it, so you don't have to start over with all new stuff.

And I believe they do have a PT system for the car (PT= passthrough.. like a battery that's plugged into a power source so you can use it without having to use up your batteries.. see also: usb)

MOST e-liquids come pre-mixed for you. You'll know it's pre-mixed because it'll say a flavor (ex: caramel) and a nicotine strength (ex: 24mg). If the bottle is described as "flavor" it's not pre-mixed and ready to go. Also: never buy anything that's described as "low, medium, high" in regard to the nicotine strength.

Watch mistress nomad's videos. I'll post a list of the "perfect lower cost order" for you if you like.
