Thank you so much for the kind words. I wish that 10k was in real money.

I have been out of a job now for several days. I won't go into the details here, but I may no longer be able to do the professional skillset that I have been doing for over 30 years. I have finally overcome the red tape of Unemployment. I will be looking into applying for disability also but I've heard that can get tied up in the court system and take over 2 years before getting any kind of resolution. I have a little money put away in savings, but that could dry up fast. Didn't really mean to spill my guts like this, but my time on ECF could become short-lived soon.

Your thoughts and prayers for my well-being and a resolution to my problems are much appreciated. Thank you all.

So sorry to hear this my friend! Good luck on this journey! I'll keep you in my thoughts! PM inbound!

Oh crap... I was all ready to post the standard congrats and thank yous, and then I saw this. Sounds like you're hurt ( just guessing by the mention of disability)? After all the help you've provided to this community, I'm sure we'd all be more than happy to help you right back if its needed. You're a pillar on this website and no doubt have singe handedly prolonged countless lives with your tireless advice and encouragement. Let us know what we can do for you.

Not physically hurt, but mentally and emotionally yes. I've never been without a job for more than a week in almost 40 years, so to lose my job at age 59 is terrifying. I am single and essentially the sole bread winner in my household.

I have Excessive Sleepiness caused by Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and was reported to be sleeping by co-workers. I was not really "sleeping", but to others it may look that way. It's a long story and difficult to explain, so I won't bore folks with the details. I've been through several sleep lab tests and have a CPAP machine which helps. But there are still times when my issue pops up.

I've applied for Unemployment. I have updated my resume for what that's worth and contacted the surgeons and supervisors that I worked under for work references. I've visited with my MD who promises to be supportive to document my medical condition in whatever action I decide to take. I'll be searching for attorney services to assist my plan to pursue a medical disability, but I've heard that can take years to reach a judgement.

I'm not encouraged that I'll be able to find employment in the job that I have done for over 30 years. Word gets out in a small city and the medical community is tight. I'll probably be blacklisted as this was the second job for me to be terminated for the same thing in seven years and word spreads fast. I have a very specialized skill set that doesn't transfer to anything else.

I'm trying to hang in there and remain positive, but it's been tough. The fact that I will probably be on a severely strict fixed income will force new lifestyle changes I was not expecting. I appreciate everyone's concerns, and all thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Thanks.

CONGRATS, Bad!!!
You've helped out a LOT of folks....especially ME!!;)
Just a reminder....IIRC, after 20,000 posts....you get a toaster......!!!:?:
Too bad posts aren't like S&H Green Stamps*!!
(* - If you have to ask....you're TOO YOUNG!!:))
May ALL your vapes be GREAT!!

I totally remember my mother saving those growing up and watching the cash registers popping them out at the IGA grocery store. We're both showing our age here.

I inherited a stack of full S&H books and got my first weight set with them

Great job on helping new vapers (myself included) with that first 10K :toast:

That sucks but you're ballsy and have a sharp mind so I'm confident you'll make something good happen.

I hope I've been able to help members here with most of them. :)

Way to Go Baditude.

What makes your 10,000 Post Cool is the Proportion of Posts that are Designed to Help People. And to Propagate Useful Information.

You are an Asset to the ECF and have Helped Countless Newbies. And quite a Lot of Not So New Members Also.

Don't be afraid to ask for help if you ever need it. Nobody does it alone.
