Got a Protank Mini 2 and it's a great tank no doubt about that, but I can't even take a hit without dying. Even the smallest hit on earth and the back of your throat feels like you were poisoned and you get a cough attack. Anyone know what on earth the problem is?

if it helps I have a eGo-T battery and 2.5ohm coil since that's what came in the box, Thanks

Really? Hmmm... maybe it's the mg of nic in your juice? What strength are you using? Protanks (especially the 1's and 2's that run single-coil) don't necessarily produce the kinds of clouds that would make you choke up.

Using a 12 mg then a 18 mg one. Both horrible but it can't be the liquid, clearomizers were fine with the same liquid

Definitely sounds like something isn't right. How much vapor is it producing? What do you have your voltage set at? Did you give a little time or a few unpowered primer puffs to make sure there was plenty of juice inside the coil?

Could be an option, but it sat in liquid for like 3 days before I tried again so idk

The worst most unpleasant strong throat hits I get are usually from bum coil setups and/or airflow restriction, strange too because there is so little vapor with those god awful hits. Funny how throat hits from great coil setups and airflow are strong but pleasurable. Have no idea why this is, but it's true. I use mini pro 2's a lot, and although I rebuild the coils with cotton myself, I do like them, also have not had one leak since rebuilding with cotton. Could be a lot of things tho, good luck hope this helps a little.

A burnt wick is a burnt wick. 3 days time or 3 years time, she's a goner. If you wanna get your hands dirty, take the tank apart, and use pliers to pull the top cap off were the atty sits to see if your wicks are burnt. If they are, pop a new head in and give it another go. If they aren't then we know the burnt taste isn't coming from the wick/coils...

Put the other coil in it came with also a 2.5 ohm.

Primed it all up... and died from coughing. Like ..., I get excited to vape, read what I use sucks and upgrade it, still sucks. Meanwhile I get my friends on the wave and their cheap setups from the bum tobacco store hit and taste wonderful. Maybe its a sign I shouldnt vape :(

If you burnt the coils with those fist hits all sitting for 3 days would do is let the burn taste transfer to the rest of the juice in the tank. Pull the coil put in a rinsed clean coils and see if it's any better. You may have some residual burn taste but it should not be nearly as nasty as what you got from the other coil.

OK... let's think a lil outside the box now...

Depending on what clearo you were using... maybe it was crap. Maybe the vapor production on it was also crap. I am suuuuch a supporter of Protanks, it's not even funny. I think they make awesome lil tank systems and build correctly can give amazing results. That being said, maybe the vapor production from the Protank is just that much more so than your old one that it IS the nic that's killing you.

I vape. I vape A LOT. Even with that though, in my Protank, I tend to use 6-10mg (but I make my own coils). Anything higher and I will start hacking. To give you an idea of how much mine is throwing, here's some pics.
