For those with the need, heaven gifts is now selling the regular joyetech eGo-c kit (no accessories yet).

Joyetech logo EGO-C starter kit with 650mAh batteries and type A atomizers - Joye eGo-C starter kits Heaven Gifts

My original was joyetech and the new atty body and holder is ovale - like I noted the ovale holder doesn't screw down flat to the body but doesn't affect airflow, draw etc. Still no leaks or burning.... ovale is out of lrs and regular heads right now - they lowered their price on the atty body and heads a bit.

Ok...atty cleaning didn't go so well this time.

The wick was stuck/gunked to the coil and pulled right out of the spike when I took took the atty apart. This is the first C atty I started with back on 11-21-11 and it's a goner now so I got just over two weeks out if it with about three cleanings. Actually the atty is fine but I kinda did a fubar on the wick. Here is a pic before I tried to put it all back together. I flattened out the mesh material before I took the pic.

I tried to roll the wick material back up in the mesh to re-assemble it but the mesh is brittle. It was going well until I tried to get it better by un-rolling/re-rolling and the mesh just crumbled and broke in half. Dang!

I wonder if I could get some Bulli mesh and wick material and rebuild it? I wonder if the atty without the spike plate would work for dripping? Any thoughts?
How hard was it to get the spike plate out and put back in?? Also HOW did you get it off??

Sure am glad I got my LR's when I did. Will be sure to order some more when they are back in stock!

I just use small screwdriver like an electronics screwdriver and pry slowly at the opening on each side of the spike plate. Pry it up a bit and then turn, pry the other side a bit and repeat until it is loose and then you can pull it off with your fingers. I use an empty tank with a plastic cap to re-install the spike plate. I just push the spike plate into the tank and then line it up with the opening on the atty press it back into place. Note the alignment when you take it apart with the positioning of the spike plate relative to the shape of the ceramic cup so you can put it back the same way. :)

I have no access to fine mesh like the stuff in the eGo-T/C so I bought a teaball strainer which had pretty fine stainless steel mesh. I cut it out and I now use it. It does the job nicely and isn't brittle at all. BTW the strainer/infuser ball cost me $3 and I probably have enough for about 30 or more rebuilds.
This is great idea! I will have to browse around wally world and see if I can find something like this. :thumb:

This method is for replacing the wick in an ego T, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be exactly the same for the C. Just a heads up for all of you talking about replacing the wick. If the coils still heat up then the atty is definitely still viable. Also, given the accessibility of the spike plate in the ego C this method should be much easier than with the T atty's which I gave up on over 6 months ago. Looking forward to hearing feedback if anyone tries this as I am considering trying out the ego C but am skeptical due to all the annoying maintenance issues with the T.

Thanks a bunch for you reply. I will try the screw driver to take out the needle plate. Thanks again.

After about 10 months using the Go-Go, I went ahead and bought the ego-c kit. Should get it tomorrow. Can't wait to see how well it works. Have to wait till next month for the LR atties, specially after the $90 price of the kit. The LR atties are out of stock anyways.

I've had pretty good luck with the go-go but I'm getting tired of the cartos. You can't tell how much is in them and once you fill em, you're pretty much stuck with that flavor in it, about 3ml worth too. Not to mention they only work with go-go carts with out an adapter. Great flavor vapor and all though so I've really liked it, just think there has to be something better.

The ego-c sounds like just what I've been waiting for. From what I've gathered the ego-c uses regular ego threads. Tank system so you can see how much is in it, and much easier to fill than a carto too. Small atties to replace instead of a full carto, and hopefully they'll come down in price soon. More battery options is a big plus too. It seems the LR atties are what everyone seems to prefer so I hope I can get some of them soon.

Anyone that's using the ego-c used the go-go before? Not that I won't find out tomorrow. :)

Riffy - I have not used the Go-Go but I did use cartomizers on my standard ego setup. I had issues since I vape 100% VG almost exclusively. The cartos were drying out too quickly and I burned a few up getting some nasty burnt puffs along the way. I ordered some Boge LR cartos and had the same problem as the juice burn rate on the LR was faster than the SR Smoktechs I used first.

I got the eGo-C in hopes that I would get cleaner hits and not have to worry about burning filler since the system uses the tanks. All the materials in the C atty including the wick and coil material have performed quite well with VG. The SR atty works great for me but I have to slow down my vape rate a bit on the LR atty to give the juice time to wick. I am going to try thinning some of my VG juices a bit (when AVE gets some Boba's back in stock) and see if that helps.

I am so confident in my C system's performance that I sold all the rest of my unused Boge cartos! Love my eGo-C. :D

RedRoman - Might want to try priming the atty a bit. I do this in between tank changes/refills as well. I just drop small amounts of juice right on the spike and let it wick in. Doesn't take much. Just let the juice wick down in the spike with a few small drops, put it all back together and try again. Make sure your battery is charged up too. :2cool:

I seem to be having some wicking problems. Not getting a lot of flavor and I really can't enjoy it, because Im still kind of getting that machine oil taste? I've tried two atties.

What is that oil and is it ok to inhale?

How long do I need to wait between vapes? In there anything I could be doing wrong? I've blown out the atties and primed them and tried three different juices, from three different vendors in different mixes. 100%VG, 70/30%PG, 100%PG.

I've used BWB, JC and Dekang.

Could really use some advice.

The primer oil/lubricant is to make sure the Atty Coil remains moist until you use it. There has been a lot of discussion about the safety of inhaling it. Either way, I would inhale as little of it as possible.

The only reason I think you still taste it, is that your system is not wicking juice properly to the Atty.

Two Atty's, Three different juices (All w/ different viscosity)... Have you tried changing out your tank cap? The kit comes with some soft silicone replacement caps. I would try one of those, and see if that get's things going for you!
