hehehehehe, good one, David!.

Yep, Arthur, I always use a much lower nic level whenever I am trying anything new out, be it a flavour or a device, cos I know I'll feel ill otherwise..........

As shipped, i set them up and test fire them with the AW2600mah, the AW 2900mah is a bit longer and sometimes necessitates removing the pre-installed .100 thick Oring and replacing it with the included .070 thick Oring, which you did. :)

On the switch throw, it sounds like with the washer removed, the throw is a bit too long for your liking and with it installed, it's a bit too short. I used to have some washers that were half the thickness of the ones that come with your kit, which would probably end up just perfect for you, but i don't have any of those. You may want to try your local hardware store, or if you are ambitious, you could file/ sand one down as they are soft brass.

David,

I just got my P18 too and I LOVE it. I am using the 2600mah AW(also purchased from you), and I couldnt get the top cap all the way on without really twisting it hard. Switched to a smaller o-ring and all is perfect. Not battery rattle at all and the top cap closes nice and smooth. Should I be running the original size o-ring, or doesnt it make any difference

Yeah, definately need one.

I've been vaping ALOT today to be honest. I bet i'd get a good 8-9 hours under normal circumstances. When my son is back from family visits, more like 10+ hrs. lol

Lol, stressful situations lead me to vape more than usual but when I am free of stress...I vape conservatively. I have the same DMM that David sells and its a great lil device (seriously it's small...palm size)...it's cheap so if it was to break down on ya its not a $40+ investment down in the gutter.

Any idea how I could polish/clean up the button bottom safely?

Must have been some burrs left over from the machine process. It did have alot of this marking already on it when I received it. For resale purposes.

No worries, due to the mechanical nature of the button and it sliding up and down in there, they all do that, over time it will develop a nice patina and smoother looking finish, just keep on using it:)

Another question. Is the actuall body of the P18 known to get warm after use? I mean, towards the top of the device it feels really warm. (Not where it's being held) if that makes sense. Around where the top cap screws on, gets pretty toasty.

Never had anything like this on mine. Have you slid the battery out to see if the top (or bottom I guess in your case), feels ever warmer? Or do you feel like the threads of the atty/carto/tank are really hot? Something doesn't sound right there. -Magnus

I guess we'd have to define "toasty" Are we talking too hot to touch or just warm? Too hot to touch means you have a short, either the atomizer or battery. Flip the battery back upright as recommended in the instructions (positive up towards the top cap). If button throw is a problem like you said. remove the washer or replace with a thinner one to adjust the throw.

If its just warm, they do get warm after vaping quite a bit as that top cap is a pretty hefty heat sink and will absorb the heat from the atomizer.

The battery doesn't feel hot. Just the heat disperses into the top of the P18. Think it's having the vapemate on it that's done it. The heat would normally travel into the drip tip, instead it's soaked into the top section of the P18. Pretty hot though, not sizzling hot but it doesn't feel like anything i've had in a PV before.

Also, 2900 mah battery is proper wimped out after 6 hours use. ( By use I don't mean constant )

Tomorrow i'll use the Megalodon all day with the 2900mah battery, see how long I get from it.

If you want, theres a quicker way to determine if you have a short/drain then vaping for hours and recording vape times, a volt meter will let you know instantly (plus you can use it to test your state of charge on your batteries) so it'll always come in handy. Plus the meter can also help you to isolate a short (whether it be in the battery, unit or atomizer). I'm not sure in the UK, but here in the states, you can pick them up for a cheap as 5.00 at most any store. I consider them a must have for mod users...

I'm going to pick one up shortly, only £10 odd give or take. See what's going on with this battery then.

UPDATE by FF: Unit has been sold and the new owner reports its working great and he's loving it.
