Ok, I was finally able to get a couple of the new passthroughs. It has been a week or so now and I have tested them pretty thoroughly. The first thing I have to say is that the coiled cord is AWESOME!!!! I do kinda wish the coil was at the passthrough side rather than the usb side. This would be better for me. I tend to leave mine plugged into a ac/usb adaptor. For me having the coiled end at the passthrough side would be better. For those who leave it plugged into a pc I can see how the way it is would work best. So far I have no complaints. It works just as fantastic as the older style. I will say this to those who live in cold climates. It has been just below freezing here at night every night since I got these passthroughs. I have 1 that I left in my car for use while driving. I left early enough a couple days this week that my windows were still frosted. These passthroughs DO NOT like the cold. I could not get it to function at all until I got my heater going and it warmed up a bit. I would hit the button and hear the hiss for maybe 1/10th of a second. Then nothing. However once my car warmed up a bit (about 5 minutes) my passthrough worked good as new. Now I keep the one for my car in my purse. No more cold weather problems. The new grommet at the cord joint is fantastic! The cord doesn't twist anymore.

So, the real questions????
1. Is it worth the extra cost? Answer: I would buy 10 at this price if I could.

2. Does it work better than the old ones? Answer: It works just as well. No better no worse.

3. Is it more sturdy? Answer: In my opinion yes. I think the new cord design will be a huge help in longevity.

In conclusion: For now I have 2. As my funds improve I will buy many more so as to have stock for a lifetime. I can't wait to get some of the great colors. Great job on this one guys!!!!
