New Pilot "Hybrid"

Im having trouble with my Pilot. Ive been using it for a week, no vapor.
I get raw juice in my mouth if i suck hard enough to get a throat hit.
They were kind enough to send me a new atomizer, but same problem, no vapor or very little at times.
Ive had to take three days off work because I beleive the raw juice in my mouth has poisoned me(yes, it was the 36mg juice). I have been severely dizzy for the past few days until I quit using my Pilot for a day. Im sure sucking wet juice into my mouth is the culprit.
Also, the led on my batteries only stay lit for 3 seconds or less, then I get the wet liquid.
Any suggestions?

Oh no! That sounds Horrible! Sorry to hear of your troubles AZ.

Be cautious of the 36mg juice when first acquainting yourself to your 'e-cig'. It is definitely potentially dangerous. If you feel dizzy, light headed, get hiccups, or ringing in your ears, you are experiencing warning signs of OD. Please be alert of these symptoms!

Is the liquid in mouth experience happening with only topped/refilled carts? Or is this occurring with fresh carts/dripping-no inner cart too?

Also is the LED only stay on for 3 seconds max, always? Have you never been able to draw longer than 3 seconds, before it cuts off?

After the 3 seconds, what happens? Does it die for two minutes?

Lastly, do these things occur with both batteries, the same?

I had the same trouble with topping off and fresh carts, and the three second led happens 80% of the time, but cooloff time is only about 10 seconds and I can use it again, but no vapor and usually no throat hit, although I can taste the nicotine from a 36mg cart like nicotine gum.

also, Im going through juice like crazy, only 12 puffs a cart?

Just realized its only one battery. I charged the spare battery for 12 hours and vapes and hits like a dream.

Well, hate to be a naysayer, but I've been disappointed with my pilots, which was kind of discouraging since I was so looking forward to them being the end all. To each his own of course, but after weeks of experimenting with them both I prefer my 901s. The pilot does have longer battery life, offers a softer draw and more vapor, but the flavor of the e juice is not nearly as enticing. Even after breaking in the atomizers, it just seems less pure in intensity, and harsh on my throat. I put the same juice in a 901 and it's smooth, lovely in fact. I don't know how to describe it, the Pilot is an airy draw, less dense vapor and taste. And, I've never, ever had juice in my mouth or leakage into the battery chamber with my 901.

When they come up with a USB pass through for the pilot I may change my mind, for but now it's the 901... or for future exploration, a pen style or 901 mod.

Forgive the 20 questions..

Hmm, and you said that PS sent a new atomizer? Do both atomizers perform exactly the same?

Do both batteries in your starter kit perform this way?

Do you drip onto the atomizer without the inner cart reservoir at all? Is the performance still the same if doing so? Try blowing the atomizer clean out (through the batt end) and re-dripping a few drops to prime again. Take a couple draws to wick the new fluid... Any difference?

You should get roughly 12 puffs per two-ish drops. 12 puffs per cart is definitely not right. Is that also with a freshly refilled or fresh cart? (Not just topped) When you say only 12 puffs, is the batting bone dry then?

I am not sure what your draw techniques are, but have you tried to alter it at all, to change the effect? Try drawing slow and consistently. As if you were sipping a blended drink/ smoothie. (not as stiff a draw as say, a milkshake)

I put in the spare battery and it works like a champ, lots of vapor and great throat hit. I just assumed the battery was good, now I know.

I prefer a 901 or a manual 510 over the 401 in some instances. I do agree for the most part, of all of your statements. Sans the liquid in mouth. I have most definitely had such occur with a 901 previously. Though not nearly as frequently or badly as the 401.

Mainly the 401 is preferred IMO for the liquid consumption conservation, the battery life, and size/look.

The vapor is not quite as dense or as flavorful as a properly functioning 901, if one has such. Though the above does still hold true.

Also check out www. esmokershop .com They just received their shipment of DSE401 passthroughs. Completely compatible with M40(x) series parts.

EDIT: Changed link, realizing this was a competitors Sub-Forum...

Great! Now you're just left with the bunk battery, which you should be able to get replaced. Not always the funnest experience, but now you know whats wrong, for sure. Happy Vape :)

Thanks Cekte, I was waiting on PS to offer the 401 pass throughs since Steve said they'd be carrying them soon, but if they're available elsewhere I'll give it a whirl (sorry Steve).

Really I've been looking more for a great traveling companion, which I guess is going to be a penstyle although I haven't even tried one out yet. In essence I'm looking for the magnitude of the pass through when leaving home. Then again, aren't we all... lol.

Batt life and liquid conservation are important to some and that's fine, but I'm all about the simulation of "real smoking", flavor and throat hit, even if it takes more effort and $$.

Glad to help. :) , Though I dont want to cause any waves..

Not sure how you feel being literally tethered to something all day. Though, if you fancy the 401 Passthrough, you can always pick up a USB powerpack. I had an APC, which worked Amazingly... all for about three days.. :p Though I would not suggest APC, I hear Kensingtons are decent, and a few others as well.

Damn esmokershop completely ripped off puresmoker's look.

While pretty true, Its a basic customizable premade layout from Volusion. Both Suppliers share the same ECommerce Host. (Several other Supppliers share other ecommerce hosts as well)

That being said, PS was established much previously, and others have all opportunity to change appearances.

Okay no more OT for me..! :)

Casey is great, she had to teach my dumb .... how to vape properly, now Im vaping like a pro.
Thank you Casey.

Seconded! Casey tried really hard to get a faulty battery working for me before I had to bite the bullet and send it back in. She really knows the products inside and out. Steve knows how to vet his prospective employees!

Im very happy with PS.
Casey responded to my email request for two long batteries within a day, and was very nice about my special order.
I requested two long batteries with 33% more battery life than the shorter ones.
Im looking forward to my new Pilot and will be a long time customer from now on.

Thank you Casey, and PS staff.

I was wrong, PS totally sucks
