Just got my Protege and USB extention in the mail, just in time for Christmas, plus a free little bottle of juice (which was an excellent touch :) ) Compared to my V1 Prodigy, the Protege is rock solid, feels and looks alot more durable, even though the ProdigyV1 is a beast. I love the improvements on the threads for the battery cap, they look and feel alot more solid than the fairly fine thread of the Prodigy. The batteries are a perfect fit and the over all unit has a nice weight to it.

The usb extention was a bit tricky to get in there, but a few tries and i got it to work, and it vapes really well, the small phillips head screw along the body of the unit makes me worry about damaging the threads inside the Protege as it is a snug fit, but we'll see what happens over time.

Overall, two big thumbs up!:thumbs: great craftsmanship and a solid device! ordering another one for a family memeber.

Thank you Steve and everyone at Pure Smoker for a great device and great customer service!

Steve, I have a question about the grommet on the pass through for my Protege. It was really difficult to initially put the PT in place and it worked fine then I noticed a huge drop off in vapor and eventually saw that the connecting end slides down and loses contact. I looked at my grommet and noticed it appears backwards. I am attaching a photo for you to look at so you can tell me if it is. since removing it from the Protege, I cannot get it to stay in place for use. please advise.

I'm not saying its correct since thats Steve's call, but it looks the same as mine!

Something you might want to try is once you know you've got the cord the correct length and a snug fit, would be to put a zip tie on the end of the grommet on the delrin side, to keep the cord from slipping through it.

I've not had that problem so I haven't attempted it, but its a thought!
