Yeah it was nasty today, the cuts busted open during racket ball at pt and I was slinging blood everywhere until I realized it had busted open LMAO Kinda funny, but kinda not as well. Needless to say I was excused early from PT today LOL

it does sound interesting, i may try a similar setup on a gene, since i already wrap the mesh around silica.

Well,
It does work.
I have some mixed results and questions. First I tried mesh approximately 1/4" and the resistance was way too low, resulting in burning tasting liquid. I then retried it with new mesh approximately 1/2" pushing the limits of the ceramic insulator.
This time it is much more vapable. It definitely works and creates good vapor production. The flavor is much better.
I don't know how long it will vape until the wick starts oxidizing and creating a higher resistance, but I am assuming this will hapen naturally.
I will continue to see what it does over time.

I just twisted the NR wire around the ends of the mesh until the NR wire didn't move anymore.

I had a guy come in the store this evening with a Genie with the wick wired on the bottom and grounded on ground connection with NR wire and at the positive connection wired with NR at top of the wick. No kanthal or high resistance wire, so he was just using non oxidized wick as the resistor. That thing was vaping like a train.
He said the flavor was great!

Have you checked the resistance? I was thinking, you may not even need a ground wire.

measures 1.1 ohms. you're right, probably don't need it, but using one is probably conducts better.
